"There isn't anything here, remember?" Alice pointed out, eyes surveying their surroundings as if to make a point, "Besides, there's no time. There'll probably be a healing machine on the boat somewhere, I'll use that. Come on, unless you want the Buizel, I bet someone else will take care of it." Perhaps that appeared heartless, but it was likely true. Immigration of trainers and migration of Pokemon due to odd world events and seasonal changes meant that Pokemon from all regions were probably scattered about, but was the otter really common in the Archipelago?

There wasn't much time to contemplate. Looking rather silly with her run, especially with hands full, she hurried on toward the pier and down it, her shoes clattering on the weathered wood as Alice rushed to board.

The male puffed hair out of his eyes. "Alright, wait up." It wasn't like the boat was just going to dump it's passenger and leave immediately. It was bound to wait for close to half an hour. Suppressing a smile at the trainer's queer run, Landon broke into his own run, sending sand flying behind him. Nearly skidding on the wood surface of the plank like structure, he followed Alice.

Alice slowed down to actually board the ship, politely greeting the sailor who waited to the side. It was only a small vessel, but that was fine, for she didn't plan to be on it long. "We need to find the healing machine." She said firstly, "And then find out where this thing is going." Valencia Island, or perhaps a location with a gym she could take on, would be helpful.

Landon gave a curt nod to someone passing by. "Right. You go find a healing machine, I find someone and enquire about the destination of the ship." As the ship corridors split to a T junction, he motioned Alice to go right as he took off to the left.

That seemed a smart enough plan, and Alice did indeed go the opposite direction. The walls were plain, occasionally marked with a poster or artwork of some kind, the red doors standing out against the neutral paintwork. She eventually found a large hall of tables, music playing over subtly placed speakers around the room, with a few patrons sat down or at one of the bars.

There was a healing machine to one side, and as she muttered sweet nothings to her Slowpoke, she finally set him down and took out one of the many Heal Balls from her bag/ "This one's for you, okay? I'm sorry, I pushed you so hard." She ran a hand over his pink fur and pressed a kiss to his muzzle before giving the Pokemon a tap. He was swallowed in a green light, and the sphere hardly rocked at all. Satisfied, she set the ball into one of the slots and read the instructions on one of the surfaces, flicking all the right switches and waiting patiently for her starter to be healed.

The sphere was covered in a light glow which flickered on and off, while a small jungle cut through the sound emanating from the speakers. As the healing completed, the music resumed wafting through the speakers.

Alice looked up, laughing a little at the familiar track that played as she healed her Slowpoke. "Come on, then, you're all done." She said lovingly, keeping the pink ball in her hand. Through the transparent shell, she could see his relaxed and smiling face, and it made her heart swell with joy. Glancing around, Alice decided to head back the way she came, lest she lose Landon and end up stressed on her own.

Landon was nowhere to be seen. The corridor was deserted. Although the emptiness filled the place like an endless void, a light thunking could be heard furthur up the corridor, and if taken a right, the source of the noise would be found.

Alice felt a little insecure by the emptiness of the place. "Surely, a boat should have more life than this?" She murmured to the Pokemon in its container, who simply stared back empty-eyed. She jumped as a thunking started, her shoulders hunching tense, and stopped to gather her wits. Taking a deep breath. Alice proceeded to the source of the noise, cautiously turning the corner with one hand tracing the clinically white walls.

There was a Zubat, it was confused from an earlier battle with another, much stronger flying type. It seems the poor Pokemon hasn't been lifted from the affects of the move Confusion since it fled the battle. She repeatedly flew into one of the corridor walls, but stopped once it heard Alice approach. Her keen hearing allowing to hear the girl before she got too close to where the small flying was.

A wild Lvl 12 female Zubat appeared! Known moves: Astonish, Leech Life, Supersonic, Bite....

It was a shame that Slowpoke didn't know confusion yet, because it would've made taking out the Zubat quite easy. "You poor thing, hurting yourself like that. Here," She aimed the Pokedex at it to capture another entry, and then opened one of the windows, sliding it aside, "Did you want to get out?" She thought it might be cruel to challenge it to a fight, although if it did, she wouldn't hesitate to call on her only team member.

The Zubat just flew in place, facing the open window, then Alice. It thought for a while through it's hazy mind. She liked this human, that had shown her such kindness. She gave a cry before flying uncoordinatedly over to Alice and tried to find the girl's pokeballs.

She had made up her mind, she'd go with the girl. If she could find one of Alice's pokeballs she could get captured, but the Confuaion was making her search a little difficult.

"W- woah! Holy shit." Alice stumbled back as the Zubat appeared to fly at her, shielding herself feebly with her hands. She couldn't tell what it was the Pokemon was after, and tried to peek through her arms. It was knocking at her bag, which she dropped onto the floor, still tightly clutching onto the Heal Ball that Slowpoke was contained in. When the Zubat dropped down to it, the girl frowned. "There's no food in there, Zubat... I don't think you'll be bothered by anything I have on me." She didn't really want to attack it, but at the same time, what was going to stop this thing? "The window's this way. Over here."

Zubat shook her head and nodded to Slopoke's pokeball then at Alice's bag, giving a small cry of "Zu, Zubat!" as she continued trying to find a pokeball. In all honesty she hoped Alice understood what she meant.

It took Alice a few more seconds, but the light did finally switch on upstairs in the end. "Oh... One of these?" She asked, the surprise evident in her voice. "Um, hold on, then." The young woman ducked to unzip her property, fumbling until she finally found another Heal Ball. Pressing the button so that it enlarged, she offered it to the Pokemon, "Are you sure it's what you want? You can still get going if you like."

"Zubat!" she happily cried as she pressed against the pokeball, having made her mind up.

Alice blinked in surprise, but she beamed nonetheless. "Well, that wasn't a Pokemon I was expecting. A Zubat, huh? Bats are pretty cool. I'm sure we'll get along well. Just be patient with me and don't fly at my face so much, yeah?" She laughed, admiring the Pokemon inside its new, pink and blue home. Keeping the two Heal Balls in her hand, her heart racing as she went along, Alice continued her search for Landon, blue eyes sparkling like the ocean as she admired the view. She had no nicknames for her Pokemon yet, but maybe eventually.

The boat, the sea and the salty smell of everything was fantastic. While the boat was going on some creeching could be heard. Some wingull came flying alongside the boat as along the boat there were some finneon, going around with the boat just as some of the magikarp that were in this waters usually.

Her hair was going to be a mess by the time she reached shore, but it was nice to feel the refreshing wind on her face and smell the salty air. It was somehow nostalgic, although she had never lived near the cost. Maybe it reminded her of holidays abroad. Looking around, they were surrounded by water Pokemon. "Oh, wow, that's so cool..." She noted, moving to the railing to admire the Wingull. She had Slowpoke, so there wasn't too much of a need to capture any of them, but maybe Zubat could get some training in, or even try to tutor her a move, like Ominous Wind, Pluck or Twister.

The wingel were just screaching at the shore letting the people know they were there and awaiting for them to maybe throw some bread up and a lot of other things. However they were pretty strong and they stayed in sure cause they were wondering if the girl had some bread with her, but the magikarp weren't really staying. What they were doing was they just went back together with the boat just like the fineon which had come along as well. THere were some eyes of other pokemon in the shadow of all the buildings that were further up as the shore as they awaited for the girl to make a few decisions.

Alice didn't have any bread with her, and if she had, she probably would have eaten it herself. She was worried that food might be an issue in the future, and given that Landon hadn't returned, she had yet to even know which island this was. In fact, that was an idea, and the blonde girl strayed to find someone who could inform her, just in case the worst scenario occurred: they were separated for good.

A cleffa came running in the port, crying and waving. It looked really cute, it was bright pink so that meant that it was very good treated, it pointed towards a few of the bushes were a bunch of ratata were chomping down on a small pile of berries. Apparently the poor pokemon her berries had been stolen by te evil ratata and she was asking the girl for her help

When the boat finally docked on the mystery island (to her, at least), she waited a little while to try and see Landon, but to no avail. Perhaps he would find her instead. Going down the pier, a Cleffa came running, and she smiled until she saw its tears, weaving in and out of people's feet. "It's... Coming straight to me?" Alice was stunned, but she crouched down, listening to its wails. "Hey, hey. It's okay, it's okay. I'm here now."

Slowly, so that the Cleffa could avoid her if she wanted, the rookie trainer pet its soft fur and wiped the tears running down its little cheeks. "So, you want me to go over there with you? Lead the way for me, okay? I'll be right behind." Alice didn't understand Pokemon speak, so this was the best way forward.

The small cleffa calmed down as she saw how nice the trainer was and looked with a questioning expression on its face to the girl as her tears were whiped and she let out a happy sound like a giggle. She could then hear that the trainer wanted to come over there and help her. She squeeled in happiness and jumped up a few times before running closely to the place the ratata were eating her berries. The sight made her get more tears in her eyes as she looked from a distance as she hoped that the girl would know what was wrong but just to be sure she pointed to the group of ratata to make what she needed come clear.

Alice grinned at the Cleffa's sweet reactions to her agreement, walking with the baby towards the group of feeding Rattata. "Oh. You want me to fight them?" She asked, reaching for Zubat's Heal Ball. Slowpoke had already fought twice today, after all. Her newest team member was released in a medicinal green light, its darker green body coated in sparkles. "Zubat, use your supersonic on those Rattata! Then swoop down with fly and bite them!"
