Left 4 Dead (abbreviated as L4D) is a cooperative first-person shooter arcade-style video game. There's also a sequel to it (Left 4 Dead 2) but both are pretty much the same in gameplay. Google it if you want to know more stuff. A'ight it ain't hard to learn the stuff. You'll probably learn as you play so you don't really have to Google.

Character Template:
Code:
[b]Name:[/b] (Surnames are not needed)
[b]Age:[/b] (18 - as long as you can manage)
[b]Appearance:[/b] (Paragraph or pic)
[b]Gender:[/b] (Male or female)
[b]Occupation before apocalypse:[/b] (Be realistic. Self-explanatory.)
[b]First Campaign:[/b] (Name of campaign you wanna play.)

Below are campaigns. If you want to follow the events then I suggest you start with the first for they are arranged chronologically. Each campaign has stages/areas you have to survive to reach the next area until towards the final part which is the rescue point. Sure you're rescued but for storyline freaks, you can keep going so probably something will happen after you're rescued. I'll only say the first area so you won't know what's next but I'll give you hints where to go next. If you can't figure out well then either you're stuck in the area or get killed.

CAMPAIGN - FIRST STAGE
NO MERCY - The Apartment
CRASH COURSE - The Alleys
DEATH TOLL - The Turnpike
DEAD AIR - The Greenhouse
BLOOD HARVEST - The Woods
DEAD CENTER - The Hotel
THE PASSING - The Riverbank
DARK CARNIVAL - The Highway
SWAMP FEVER - Plank Country
HARD RAIN - The Milltown
THE PARISH - The Waterfront

So choose. About the weapons, there are only limited types but you'll discover 'em. In the video game, you don't really have to eat, drink or sleep. But for realism, your character should.

Name: Peter
Age: 26
Appearance: Short, messy hair. Brown in color. Green eyes, although he usually has on a pair of sunglasses, so they're rarely visible. Usually, he has on some kind of hat, although it changes regularly. At the moment, he's sporting a black top hat. Jean jacket, and khaki cargo pants. Hiking boots he swiped somewhere after SHTF (stuff hit the fan). Usually has a bottle of tequila in the pocket of his jacket, although it's usually empty. Since he rarely finds any of it anymore, he goes out of his way to grab it when he does.
Occupation before Apocalypse: Police Officer. Spent time in the Army.
First Campaign: No Mercy (chronological order ftw)

Spoiler:

OOC:
Just to let you know, every gun you will find will have a flashlight attached somewhere in them. It's a default thing in the video game and let's assume it has infinite battery power.

IC:
It is nighttime and a large number of zombies are wandering on the streets. Peter only has his trusty pistol with limited extra ammo. He ended up on a rooftop of a three-storey apartment after running away from a horde. He climbed a post near the apartment and made one lucky jump to the rooftop. It seems that once these monsters' prey escapes, they'll forget about it soon. On the middle is a door which if opened, has stairs leading down inside the building. While he is currently the only survivor on the rooftop, there is a note written on the ground with white paint and it reads:

"Went to Red Line Station
-Reed"

That would give him an idea that survivors have been here. Would that mean there are dead zombie bodies inside as well as empty fridge, drawers and cabinets? Or were they able to get out in a different way? It doesn't look like the neighboring building's rooftop can be reached by jumping and climbing over. The easiest way would be downstairs.

Peter shakes his right jacket pocket, contemplating his choices. No sound is made; the friendly swish of liquid in his bottle is absent. Grumbling, he gripped his pistol in his left hand and eased open the doors in the apartment, looking for a map or some clue as to where Red Line Station was.

OOC:
Off-topic - Saw a video in YouTube about Lesnar's MMA debut and he admitted WWE is fake.

IC:
Wooden steps leading downstairs with an entrance on the left for the third floor. Upon looking at it, there is a fridge with its door opened. It still has light which means electricity is still on. However, no food. The cabinets are empty as well.

Indeed, the floor has no living zombies. Dead bodies are scattered around and the walls are painted blood red along with different caliber of bullets. Unfortunately, there isn't a map anywhere on this floor. In short, this entire third floor is just a waste of time. Until a deep, loud and unusual gurgle can be heard and the smell of puke.

To the left of the fridge is the room's dining room and living room. Looking towards the living room would have the fridge on Peter's right. To the farther left towards the living room is an area that is obviously unseen. It seems the gurgle came from there.

((Who wins is scripted, but I believe they're given free rein on how they actually get said person to win))

Cursing, Peter shifted to put his back to the right of the doorway. Flicking the safety catch off, he twisted around, aiming around shoulder height as he scanned the room. I should have just left... but I'd hate to be caught with these things ahead AND behind me. My only real option is to get to that station, it would seem.

OOC:
Yup, he said that as well. Though sometimes they get pissed so the blood and most injuries we see are real. Then the directors take that real life beef into a storyline. BTW, I always thought it's Lesnar going to UFC from WWE but found out it's the other way around.

IC:
On front of him are two closed doors: a door to his left is just a step away from him while the second is in front of him in just four steps away. To the left of the door on front of him is yet another narrow passage. The abnormal gurgle can again be heard; louder which means closer and is coming from the passage to the left. The smell of puke worsens which would have an average person puke as well. After the creature gurgled, a loud belch followed.

Peter wrinkled his nose at the smell; fortunately, he'd smelled puke so many times in boot camp, he didn't lose his meager lunch. Yet. He shifted his arms so his left arm was braced with his right, but he could cover his nose with his sleeve. He put his back to the wall opposite the sound, then waited for whatever it was to come through. And Mom said being in the Army wouldn't get me anywhere.. showed her.

One other thing from boot camp would come in handy here - door breaching. Kicking it open, Peter quickly aimed his gun through the hallway, at about chest height.

Stairs leading down but what he found are two corpses. The sound is coming from the narrow path to the left but not behind the left door's.

OOC:
Alright you probably didn't get it so that was kinda "FAIL." I'll use simple sketches from now on. I really suck at describing things so I can't be a witness at a crime scene, LOL.

((Facepalm. Yeah, I just misread it - I thought the gurgle was behind the door for some reason.))

Shaking his head, he realized he'd mistaken the origin of the sound. Tiptoeing down the hallway towards the REAL origin of the gurgling, Peter gripped his pistol even tighter. Might finally be getting to me, this constant "about to get eaten" crap is a little annoying, but it shouldn't be messing with my head yet.

Spoiler:
Spoiler:

The moment Peter went in that hallway; a bloated creature is looking at him. He looks like a male. He has short black hair and wears a navy blue shirt and brown pants, both stained with sweat and puke and stretched to breaking point around his enormous gut. When idle, he makes loud burping and gurgling noises which change to loud groans when it sees an uninfected. With that, he made the loud groans.

While Peter does not know these especially mutated zombies "special infected", most survivors know that each has superhuman ability. This one is called the Boomer. The Boomer has undergone extreme external and internal mutations by some adverse reaction to the Infection. The sheer tension on its skin and organs has resulted in a breakdown of the epidermal and dermal layers, causing the skin to become thin and fragile.

Boomers puke on survivors which would cover their entire body in the bile thus, allowing the zombies even from afar to smell, follow it and sprint towards it. It's surprising how zombies are actually faster than humans considering how he almost died a while ago before he reached the rooftop.

A Boomer prepares to vomit by gurgling. He prepares to gurgle. Peter only has but a split-second to go away - if he knows what a Boomer does.

Peter had seen things like this before, but had no idea what they could do, since he preferred to steer clear of them. Raising his pistol and aiming for the head, he pulled the trigger just after the gurgle. Just like Police Academy. He knew these things could sometimes take a few rounds to go down, so he shot two more into its head and neck to be on the safe side.

OOC:
LOL Fail.

IC:
Three bullets hit the Boomer. Two on its head and another on its bloated neck. One bullet to any part of his body would have killed him. While Peter managed to kill the Boomer, he wasted two bullets and killing a Boomer up-close is suicidal. Unfortunately, he didn't know that and he will the lesson in a hard way; worst - death.

The Boomer violently explodes, sending blood and bile everywhere. His body was torn in half. Since Peter is too close to the Boomer, the blood and sticky bile covered his entire body - covering his eyes thus, making him temporarily slightly blinded as well as his nose that would sniff the very disgusting smell. The smell of massive bile attracts a zombie horde. Growls, roars and shouts of zombies are coming in a crescendo.

Shit.

Peter couldn't help it, he heaved up the contents of his stomach after that one. Shaking, he stumbled to the area he assumed the bathroom would be in. Fully clothed shower time. Hopefully that would get rid of the stench.

Correct. The door to his right leads to the small bathroom. It has no shower but it has a bathtub and a sink. The growling of the zombies gets louder. Looks like they're on the second floor and rushing towards the third floor where Peter is.

Stripping down to his boxers, he filled the sink with hot water and began to rinse the slime out of his clothes. After a few seconds, he realized he'd left the door open and shut it quietly, as if that mattered. His hat, somehow, had avoided the splash (if you could call it that), so he put that to the side. As he scrubbed his clothes, he ran a hot bath to get as much of that stuff off of him as he could.

OOC:
LOL. I like how he doesn't give a damn about the zombie horde rushing for him.

IC:
Taking a bath would take the smell away from his body. But it looks like Peter forgot that when the Boomer explode a while ago, the zombie-attracting puke also splashed and stuck on the walls outside the bathroom. By the noise and movements, the zombies are now just outside the door. Luckily, after a couple of seconds they stopped, realizing that they don't see a non-infected anywhere but they smelled the puke. The sound of the water on the bathroom didn't get their attention. If Peter didn't clean himself up, he'd be inside the horde's intestines by now; if he didn't close the door, the horde will spot him. Bad, he's trapped in a small bathroom with more than twenty zombies waiting behind that door.

OOC:
You do realize this is on realism and that your character could actually die and you'll have to restart all over again. You can keep the knowledge. I mean, say how a Boomer explodes and stuff. Let's just say the new character encountered one or something like that. Better, Google the special infected up. There ain't that much. Not sure if you could get outta here alive. Think of stuff.

((He's ex-military. He doesn't care about the zombies. And yeah, I know this was a terrible move.))

Peter finally got most of the gunk off of him. Getting sick or infected from that stuff would blow. Turning off the water, he heard the shuffling of feet and low groaning outside the door. He swapped out magazines, and put his now dripping, but mostly clean clothes, back on. He stood in the bathtub, holding his gun and scanning the tiny room for ANY other exits. Hopefully a vent of some kind he could try to crawl through.

Alright, one way out of here. Risky thanks to the ungodly RNG. Want a hint?

IC:
Unfortunately, no vents or any other alternative escape routes. There’s only the bathtub, sink, mirror, empty medicine closet, thin wooden door, his gun and himself.
