The Adventure goes on (Ashley Rio's Adventure) - Shocking Vermilion Discoveries

There were several Sailors on board, all seeming busy. There were people calling out strange things. "Waiter! A Cherry pie, please!" She called out to someone who clearly wasn't a waiter. (This part always makes me giggle. The cherry pie lady is mad. The character looks nothing like the waiters.) There was a large kitchen nearby with a delicious smell wafting out. The deck looked inviting as the sun rays glimmered off the wet surface as a Sailor busily ran up and down, cleaning the deck.

Ashley and co. then walked onto the ship, overcome by the sheer size of it. Ashley then noticed a large set of double doors which he figured must lead into the main hall of the ship where all of the battling took place so, Ashley walked over to the doors and opened them with a large push walking into the room.

There were many people training inside. Most possesed Tentacools and the occasional Slowpoke or Tentacruel. Some light battles occured in secluded corners as people struggled to strengthen their pokemon. A few people wandered idly, watching battles and whiling time. Some were looking for challenges.

(Maybe there are a few trainers in the room like Ashley with other pokemon that he could battle)

Ashley noticed one trainer scanning the room probably looking for a challenge and took this opportunity to get some battling in. He then approached the trainer and said "Hey wanna battle?" Cubone looking at the trainer curious to see what pokemon one of Ashley's pokemon could be battling. Leo saying to Ashley "And if you do battle I can be the referee?" Ashley smiling he then looked to the trainer hoping to take on them and their pokemon.

Baltoy, Level 21
Trapinch, male, level 29
Tangela, female, level 23
Flareon, male, level 25

"Sure." The trainer tossed a small pokeball and caught it again, this time enlargening it. Throwing it on the ground, a Baltoy popped out. "Your move." He said.

(Wow way to overpower my team lol)

Ashley then smiled "Ok then" he said looking to Wartortle at his side "Your up Wartortle now let's do this" with that he got into position, Leo standing at the side of the battlefield and Alexis at the other side to watch. "This battle will consist of four one-on-one battles, and the battle will be over when one trainer is out of usable pokemon, so Battle Begin!" Leo announced, Ashley quickly reacting "Go Wartortle and use Double Team then Ice Beam!" Wartortle using Double Team to surround Baltoy from all angles including above by standing on ceiling beams, they then all fired off Ice Beam attacks to try and both deal damage to Baltoy and hopefully freeze it as well providing no escape route due to the attacks coming from everywhere, hopefully...

(I didn't do anything. Blame the RNG D:> )

The Ice Beam hit, and out of pure luck froze the Baltoy too. Bedemmed in a block of ice, Baltoy was rengered helpless. "Grr." The trainer growled as Baltoy struggled in vain.

Ashley then smiled "Now Wartortle use Brick Break and then Bite!" Wartortle and his Double Team copies all charging at Baltoy before slamming their fists into the Ice in an attempt to do some damage, then attempting to sink their teeth into Baltoy in an attempt to do a major amount of damage.

Both attacks hit the helpless Baltoy, causing it to faint. "Tch." The trainer returned the fallen Baltoy. "Go!" Tossing a pokeball, Tangela appeared. "Mega Drain!" He called lazily as Tangela shot out two vines, aiming to entangle Wartortle in them and suck health. That would be direct contact, although the two red beams one also worked.

Ashley was quick to react "Wartortle dodge and come back" Wartortle side-rolling away from the move before running back over to Ashley's side. Leo announced "Baltoy is unable to battle, Wartortle is the winner!" Ashley then took another pokeball from his belt and called out "Come on out Honchkrow" Honchkrow emerging in a flash of white light and taking flight into the air flying around the room as, he looked down at Tangela. Leo next said "This battle is a one-on-one battle between Tangela and Honchkrow! So, Battle begin!".

Leo and Alexis were rather surprised by the appearance of Honchkrow due to the fact that they hadn't met him yet instead deciding to just watch. Ashley next called out "Go Honchkrow and use Double Team then Wing Attack!" Honchkrow immediately squawking and multiplying to make copies of himself, the copies then all flying in at Tangela their wings glowing a bright white as they attempted to use Wing Attack on it.

Tangela was quick. Quickly dodging the attack, it sprinkled some toxic spores over Honchkrow, guaranteed to poison if hit. Over with the Poisonpowder, it firmly planted some roots and started sapping strength from them. The Ingrain providing with health when needed, Tangela finally shot out plenty of vines and tried to Constrict Honchkrow.

(Tangela is slower than Honchkrow - Honchkrow's speed stat: 71 - Tangela's speed stat: 60 so, yeah)

Honchkrow avoided the Poison Powder by flying higher before noticing Tangela was trying to use Constrict to which Ashley called out "Now Psychic!" Honchkrow's eyes glowing a light blue as he used Psychic turning Tangela's vines back on Tangela and wrapping them around Tangela's feet so, Tangela's couldn't run or dodge so easily, hog-tying it's vines tightly. Honchkrow then released the Psychic leaving Tangela tied up, Ashley calling up to Honchkrow "Go Wing Attack!" all of the Honchkrow's diving in once more with their brightly glowing white wings to use Wing Attack on Tangela and deal some major damage.

(Is the Speed stat necessary for dodging? o.O I didn't know...)

Helpless again, Tangela was knocked off her feet but hung on by a sliver of health. Frantically tugging at her vines, she decided to just use Mega Drain and absorb some health back. Two red beams shot out of her numerous vines, heading straight for the Flying type.

The red beams flew straight through one of the copies, Ashley calling out "Now finish this, Wing Attack again!" Honchkrow and it's copies all diving in at Tangela again attempting to finish it with their Wing Attacks.

Tangela wriggled out of the way, but one of the wings still struck it, causing it to faint. "Tch." The trainer returned his Tangela. Wordlessly flinging down a pokeball, this time Trapinch appeared. "Rock Slide!" As Trapinch raised it's jaws and opening it, brought it together with a snap, a rain of rocks barraged towards Honchkrow.

Leo announced this as well, "Tangela is unable to battle, Honchkrow is the winner" using the typical referee hand movements and signals as well. Ashley quickly called out "Nice Job Honchkrow, return!" Honchkrow returning just before the Rock Slide hit. Ashley then looking to Wartortle and saying "You up for round 2?" Wartortle nodding as he stepped back out onto the battle field smiling at Trapinch, Leo next saying "This battle is a one-on-one battle between Trapinch and Wartortle! So, Battle begin!".

Ashley immediately leaping into action, "Go Wartortle and use Double Team then Water Gun!" switching it up from the earlier Ice Beam, Double Team being Ashley's team's signature move. Wartortle then made multiple copies of itself again surround Trapinch from all angles using the ceiling beams again as well to get above it, they then all launched Water Gun attacks again, opening their mouths and unleashing a torrent of water upon Trapinch from all angles.

It was at this point a crowd began to gather around them to watch the battle, the crowd being split in half one cheering on Ashley and the other for the other guy, cheering on the underdog, Alexis being at the front of Ashley's side.

Just in time, Trapinch Dug down, avoiding the Water gun attack. Picking up slight vibrations where Wartortle might be. Waiting for it's turn, buried deep under, it waited to surface and attack.

Ashley watched and grinned "Now Water Gun and aim it at the hole" Wartortle and his double team copies all firing off torrents of water at the hole, the water barreling down the hole towards Trapinch to force it out of hiding and prevent it from getting in an attack on them.

Trapinch tunnelled deeper then started digging upwards. The water collected below and the ground soaked up some. The water kept filling the crevices but Trapinch was already way above it. It burst out at where it sensed Wartortle, trying to break out of Dig and attack with Faint Attack.

One of the Wartortle copies was struck by the move and disappeared, whilst Ashley called out "Now the rest of you guys use Ice Beam!" the other Wartortle's all using Ice Beam on Trapinch attempting to freeze it in place and deal some major damage.

Trapinch dug in again, unfortunately the hole it left was frozen, rarifying the air. In other words, slowly cooling the air in the tunnel. Trapinch shuddered a bit as the cold air bit into him. The rarifyed atmosphere was making it hard for him to breathe. It quickly dug furthur away and bust out, fully exposed but anyways attempting to get a hit in by the Dig, before trying another Faint Attack.

It went through another copy leaving only a few left, "Again Water Gun!" Ashley beckoned, Wartortle and it's copies opening their mouths once more and unleashing a third torrent of water on Trapinch to try and finish off this tough adversary once and for all, to get Ashley a clean sweep.

This time Trapinch was hit but not down. It merely shook itself, bottling up it's rage and used another Faint Attack.

(Pmsl - Just realized the ship's captain and crew are gonna be irritated at you, using dig and going through their nice floor)

Ashley figured if his attacks weren't doing much he'd have to use a new tactic "Ice Beam Guys" the Wartortle's all opening their mouths and forming a bright white sphere which then let loose a beam of pure frozen energy to try and both freeze Trapinch and do some major damage, maybe even finish Trapinch. The plan being that they knew Trapinch couldn't change his trajectory when in the air so, he couldn't fully avoid it and it could block the Faint Attack from hitting Wartortle even though the one it was aimed at was a copy.

(How many copies are there? Also, isn't there lots of gravel and soil and all for Ground types? A proper battle ground, hollowed out and packed with soil. They can just fill in the holes...>> Maybe...)

Ashley was right. Trapinch was not able to change his direction and the Ice Beam clipped him head on. A mist spread out throughout the arena. As it cleared, it revealed Trapinch, down. "Tch." Knowing his Flareon didn't stand much of a chance, she reluctantly sent it out.
