Training in Viridian Forest? [Mod needed...]

Kevin sighed as he sat on a nearby boulder. He had been going around in circles for the past twenty minutes while trying to figure the forest out.

"Might as well train while we're here...maybe catch a few new friends then set up camp?" he suggested to Charmel the Charmander, who replied with a shrug. Charmel just wanted to battle, he always loved a challenge.

Yoku walked aimlessly in the forest, and though she would never admit it, she was dreadfully lost. Glancing whimsically around, she looked to her resting Togetic, Tamogo, in her arms and her tired-looking Quilava, Dansei atop her head. She herself was a bit exhausted after training with Tamogo and finding her way in the forest (none of the less unable to find her way out), and she couldn't help but yawn as worry flooded through her. For all I know, I'm walking in circles. All of these trees look the same.

She was about to give in and just rest under the giant trees' canopy for a while when the figure of a trainer appeared in the distance. Yoku blinked and rubbed her eyes, making sure it wasn't just her wandering imagination, and she ran toward the figure, desperate to catch them before they disappeared into the blackened distance of the forest. "Hey!" she called out to him as she ran toward his direction, "Can you help me through this forest?"

Kevin looked up at the trainer approaching him and sighed. "Sorry, but I'm lost myself." he said as he stood up from his resting spot.

Charmel, disappointed that the trainer didn't want to battle, decided to mess with his trainer's guitar case that he decided to drag along. In the fire type's opinion he thought it was a pretty good idea for situations like this.

"Charmander!" he exclaimed, pointing at the case holding the instrument. If the two were lost and needed a rest the small fire lizard figured that they might as well camp there and listen to some music to pass the time, or something like that.

"Ah, I'm Kevin by the way, and this is Charmel." Kevin said while raising an eyebrow at his starter's actions.

"Oh, I'm Yoku, and this is Dansei," she tilted her head to signify the Quilava that rested on top of it, "and Tamogo," she held up the Togetic in her arms. Dansei wasn't focused on the trainers, but instead had her half-open eyes focused on Charmel, curious of her Kanto counterpart. She jumped from Yoku's head and bound toward Charmel, glancing to the guitar case curiously.

Exhaustion flooded through Yoku, and she couldn't help but find the nearest tree and slump to the ground, using the large trunk to lean her back against. "I don't think I could go much further anyway," she laughed.

"I agree. Also, nice to meet you Yoku." Kevin replied and went back to sitting on the boulder. Then, an idea came.

"You wanna hear some music.to pass the time?" He asked, gesturing to the guitar case. He guessed that Charmel wanted him to play the instrument and he thought it was a good idea. From the looks of things the blue eyes boy guessed that it'd be dark soon.

Charmel greeted his Johto counterpart with a small cry of it's species name, curious of the other fire type. He looked over at the two trainers once he heard Kevin suggest playing the guitar and couldn't help but grin slightly, glad that his trainer understood what he was trying to say earlier.

"Nice to meet you too," Yoku reciprocated to Kevin with a small smile, "it's good to know I'm not the only one who can't navigate these woods." When she heard his question, she nodded with a glint in her bright, green eyes, "sure, I'd love to hear a song."

She set Tamogo beside her and shifted to a more comfortable position, more laying against the tree than leaning now. Her fiery hair rested atop the ground, gaining a slight muddy brown tint to go with her blond highlights. Somewhat, this bothered Dansei, who had turned her attention toward her trainer when she heard the girl shift. Shrugging, she brought her attention back to Charmel and the instrument.

Tamogo was in the daze of just waking up. Half-asleep, he looked to his surroundings and yawned. His wings fluttered, and that made him jump in surprise. He still wasn't used to them. He glanced curiously up toward the newcomers, trainer and Pokemon, and just yawned, not making an effort to introduce himself out of exhaustion.

Kevin opened the cuitar case and pulled out his pride and joy. His dad had bought him the guitar shortly after he and Charmel met to keep the two from getting in trouble with the neighbors constantly. He's made it his habit to play for the Pokemon at Prof. Oaks' lab as an excuse to etend his time back in Pallet.

Charmel sat by his trainer's legs as Kevin began to play a simple tune that he liked, it was melodic and reminded him of the forest and all the interesting Pokemon in it. Before long he was enveloped into the music, enjoying the sound that came from the guitar before it ended with a short note that echoed through the silence. (As you can see, I love music and writing in some detail. ^^)

(Hey Kare, could you RP a wild pokemon please? I want Kevin to have at least one other Pokemon before going to Pewter City. Sorry if I've been bugging ya!)

Yoku was enthralled with the melodic sounds, and closed her eyes to get a better feel for them. The song was lovely, and brought her mind into a happier time, something that didn't happen often. Dansei seemed intrigued, and she sat next to Kevin, staring up at the guitar with wide, curious eyes. Her ears perked and moved, as if following certain sound waves until they disappeared into the midst of the forest. Tamogo didn't seem all that interested, and he just decided to doze in his trainer's relaxed arms.

As if drawn by the music, several curious forest Pokemon peeked out from the cover of the thick undergrowth and trees. Most were too cautious to approach, but one lone Metapod hopped its way toward the musician, curiosity getting the better of it.

Metapod, Female, level 8

Charmel was the first to notice the Metapod and was excited, hoping that the Pokemon came for a battle he got onto a fighting stance and gave the big Pokemon a questioning glance, as if asking it to battle. He hadn't bad battled in quite some time and was eager to, maybe the Metapod could join them as well on their travels?

Kevin now saw the Metapod, a small smile came to his lips for he knew that curiosity was sometimes a blessing and a sin. (I just have Kevin order an attack and you say if it hits or not, right? And thanks you. ^^)

(Yep, just as you say if Metapod's attacks hit ^^)

Metapod took one glance at Charmel's fighting stance and knew what he was asking. She hopped into a fighting position as well, the answer to the question he implied. Metapod, taking the challenge, shimmered slightly while her body grew slightly thicker, she used Harden!

Charmel watch the Pokemon use harden as he waited for his trainer's command.

"Charmel, use Ember." Kevin commanded calmly. Charmel nodded, concentrating on making the attack slightly hotter and slightly more powerful, just like they practiced back in Pallet. Charmel's tail grew slightly in size as he released the attack from his jaws, hoping that if it hit it wouldn't knock the opponent out.

The Ember did hit, and Metapod managed to barely hang on. "Meta..." she said weakly, praising Charmel's power. All she could manage was another metallic sheen, a Harden, and to wait to either be captured or finished off.

Metapod wasn't the only one impressed by Charmel's power. Dansei warned the battle in silence, seeing the Charmander's power grow with the mighty flame atop his tail. Almost involuntarily, a flickering blaze erupted from atop her head and formed a tail as well. It wasn't as enormous as the Charmander's battle powered blaze, but it was a strong and hot flame. Yoku looked away from her focus on the battle and back toward her Pokemon with a small smile, she knew Dansei well enough to know she was getting a bit antsy. She would have to take her and Tamogo out training to get their energy out soon.

(I may go make a training topic here while you battle wild Pokemon if you don't mind ^^)

(Go on ahead.^^) Kevin threw a pokeball at the bug type, he knew that he'd be in Viridian for a while as he watched the pokeball intensely. If one thought about it, it'd be best to catch a few Pokemon and train, especially before going to the Pewter City gym. He also knew that if he didn't have a water or grass type before challenging the gym that things would be more difficult, but it would make things interesting at least. And if he couldn't get the badge the first time he'd just have to go for it again!

Charmel was excided, he loved to battle and couldn't wait to get started on training with his new friend-if she stays with them. Then there was the Pewter city gym, from he remember Squirtle telling him after Kevin played at Oak's lab one day, the gym had rock and ground type Pokemon in it, which meant it'd be easy for Bulbasuar or Squirtle himself to defeat the gym leader due to type advantages. Charmel's excitement quickly turned into irritation. Him and Squirtle were never on good terms. He'd show 'em how strong his and his trainer's bond was and beat the first two gyms with the help of his trainer's training and Charmel's hard work!

The shiny red and white ball shook once, twice, a third time... and with a 'ding' stopped shaking, signifying the catch.

Metapod was caught! Would you like to give her a nickname?

"Congrats," Yoku said to Kevin and Charmel with a smile. She then stood and set Tamogo gently to his feet. "While you're out here battling, I may just have to do some training myself. Since we're making camp here, if you don't mind me tagging along with you guys, I'll meet you back here once I'm finished."

No nickname given.

"We don't mind you tagging along, I had planned on traveling with someone anyway." Kevin said as he picked up the pokeball and added it to his belt, right next to Charmel's pokeball. Charmel, was eager to battle some more because battling meant either leveling up or gaining new friends on the team.

He paid no attention to the trainer's conversation as he was looking for more Pokemon to battle and add them to the team while leveling up.

It wasn't long before another Pokemon met Kevin and Charmel. It was a surly Machop who, by the looks of it, seemed just as lost as the trainer and Pokemon were. He was too preoccupied to notice the trainer, looking around the trees in confusion.

Machop, Male, Level 10

Charmel took the lead and approached the Machop. "Char, Charmander!" he called out, catching Kevin's attention and causing him to walk over to the two. He wondered, could he talk the Machop into joining? It never hurts to try new things out, he guessed.

Charmel, on the other hand, wanted to battle and test the other's strength against his own. He got into a battle position and Kevin sighed. Maybe he would have to try talking Pokemon into tagging along and using kindness another time.

The Machop had not seen, neither heard the trio. It was completely unawares. While Charmander had the element of surprise, perhaps it wasn't the best thing to attack from the back...

Charmel went around the Machop in a wide half circle so he could be in the Pokemon's line of sight. He couldn't help but grin, though he was curious as to why the other had not heard him.

Kevin's eyebrow twitched. He stayed silent and watched as Charmel's teeth glowed white. "Bite..." he mubled the attack name as he watched.

Machop started. It had been lost, looking for a way around. Although the glowing teeth hinted at an attack, a hint that Machop picked up, it decided to ask if they knew the way out. It did so, with plenty of arm waving and "Machop!"s. In any case, should the Charmander still attack, it readied a Karate Chop, as it's arm glowed faintly.

Charmel was very interested in the fighting type. But sighed and replied, telling it that he didn't know the way out with a few "Char, mander, Charmander."

Kevin watched the two curiously before walking over to Charmel's side and kneeling mg down to place a hand atop his head.

"Charmander!" The fire type exclaimed in slight surprise and annoyance.

"if you want Machop, you could come with us and we can all find a way out." The blue eyes trainer suggested, earning a small grunt from Charmel as an agreement. Both trainer and Pokemon still wanted to add the fighting type to their team though....

"Mach? Mach! Machop!" Assuming that they were ready to escort him out of the forest, which they were, it happily agreed. It didn't realize they were trying to persuade him to join their team.

"But, there's a condition. I'm traveling with someone at the moment and we planned on camping here for the night...is that ok? Do you think you can wait until tomorrow?" Kevin informed, curious of the Machop's answer. Charmel, still eager to battle, huffed in irritation.

Charmel decided to train on the boulder Kevin had say on earlier. His fist glowed an orangish-red with fighting type energy. He reared his small fist back and charged at the boulder then jumped high into the air, spun, and punched the boulder as hard as he could, causing a small crack to appear.

Kevin ignored Charmel, knowing that the fire type was showing off in his fit of impatience and irritation.

"Macho...." It trailed off. The offer was good enough. It just had to wait a while. It looked at Charmander and tutted a bit. It may not know Rock Smash, but it knew Fighting moves alright. It moved closer slowly and tried out a full power Karate Chop on the rock, twirling a bit and catching the rock on the side, causing a wide gouge. It signalled at it, then at Charmander, asking it to adopt the same technique.
