Under the moonlight, the Virdian Forest was dimly lit, occasionally blacking out when the clouds covered it. The clouds were dense that night, as if it was going to rain soon. It was quite windy and cold already. A regular human being would rather be safe under their blankets in some cozy place at the moment but this boy was no normal one. Being extremely adventurous, impatient and childish, Mamoru Masaru was right in the middle of the forest with his three pokemon, his Kirlia, Gabite and Nidorino. No matter how much the three beasts complained, the rookie trainer was not going to show any mercy that day. Even though he was fun-loving and usually merciful to his enemies, mercy was not a part of him when he was training. He preferred to train relentlessly, believing that success can only be reached by the drop of sweat and blood.

Looking at the three, the rookie thought of which Pokemon to train first but for once the boy decided to be fair. And not in a good way. A second later, he had called all three before him. He was going to make them train together, causing them who had expected just one of them to train first and the other two to get some rest for a while, to whine even more than they had before. Sighing at their laziness, Masaru got a little annoyed. Looking at the three, he folded his arm and shook his head. After a cutscene, the three were left with comical bruises on their heads, Masaru's knuckles almost as bruised.

"You three are going to have a three-way fight. I am not going to give any orders."

Not liking the idea very much, the three kept whining but after a while realized they were not given a choice and took their positions in front of Masaru, in a triangle so that each of them were facing the other two. As soon as Masaru signaled them to start, Kirlia's eyes along with Gabite, got covered in a purple outline and began to glow a slight pink. Within two seconds, Gabite felt intense psychical pressure on him, feeling a little crushed as its feet lifted from the ground. Before Kirlia harmed him any more with her Confusion, Nidorino charged and turned swiftly as its tail glowed silver, striking the psychic pokemon in the stomach with Iron Tail, sending her flying and letting Gabite escape from Confusion. As Nidorino was celebrating his awesome strike on Kirlia, Gabite blindsided Nidorino. The dragon-type fired a flamethrower at the horned-beast. The flames engulfed him and did quite some damage before burning out. Kirlia got up at the time and watched as Gabite showed no mercy to Nidorino.

Watching from a distance, she saw the Gabite charge at Nidorino with Take Down before tackling him to the ground. The helpless Poison Pin Pokemon was on his back, his belly facing the Gabite as he was struck by an up close Dragon Rage, a massive fireball coming out of the ground shark's mouth and striking him close-distance, almost knocking him out.

Gabite was forced to back away before he did any more damage, as he had been poisoned by Nidorino's ability, Poison Point when he had used Take Down on him. The affects of the poison caused the dragon to take some damage and a confused step back. Without Masaru telling him that he was poisoned, he was not exactly aware and felt as if something was wrong but did not know exactly what.

Making use of the situation, Kirlia decided to attack once again. From a distance, she growled at the dragon, deciding to keep Nidorino in the game as she stood no chance one on one with the Gabite, who now noticed the growl and looked at her before charging with Take Down once again. Just as he reached striking distance, the psychic-type used Teleport to avoid the attack and now stood behind the charging beast. Using confusion once again, the purple outline and pink glow reemerged on Kirlia's eyes and Gabite in whole. The shark struggled to escape but found it impossible to move under the psychic pressure inflicted on him. Kirlia managed to use Confusion on the Gabite a few times over and over again until he was genuinely, well, confused. Half-grinning at the success, Kirlia turned to Nidorino, not looking at the Gabite who in his confused state Dragon Raged himself, leaving him weak and almost fainted. Against all odds, Kirlia was leading.

Not for long. Nidorino was back on his feet and looking straight at the psychic-type, who was aware this was not a good thing. Nidorino's tail glowed silver once again and this time it didn't look like Kirlia was going to withstand another hit. In a blink of an eye, the poison point pokemon rushed and struck the "emotion" pokemon square in the face with its heavy enhanced tail. The victim was sent flying once again, landing next to Gabite, barely conscious. Just like that, the tables had turned. Regardless, Nidorino was as damaged as the other two but being the one standing he had a better chance of knocking the two out.

As soon as he saw his two opponents get on their feet, Nidorino rushed once again, this time trying to throw both of his opponents away and knock them out in a simple move-less rush. The two braced at first but Kirlia did the unthinkable. Pushing Gabite up front and letting Nidorino rush into and knock out the dragon-type, she teleported a few feet behind Gabite and used Attract. Winking at the rush foe and raising her skirt-like part a little. This caused the Nidorino to stop in its tracks. The purple outlines and pink glows returning, this time it was for sure Kirlia won the battle. Nidorino was knocked out in seconds and a weak Kirlia celebrated by running around the battle area excitedly.

"That was.." Masaru stammered speechlessly, trying to hide his red cheeks and awestruck expression, "Unexpectedly epic.."

(50% to Nidorino, 30% to Kirlia and 20% to Gabite)
