Down by the bay(Open to all who want)

The Tackle slammed into Squirtle with odd force, and damaged him while also sending him flying once more. Luckily for him, this time he landed on his feet, thoug he looked fatigued. "Squirt!" he exclaimed in anger. He then turned at Dawn and launched a torrent of bubbles at her, a Bubble attack.

"Dawn, try to dodge and tackle again!" Jonathon commanded. This squirtle was ressiliant, it had that going for it. Still, Jonathon wasn't going to let it get away from him. He had to catch up to Evangaline and this turtle was his best bet.

Squirtle was knocked back by the force of the Tackle, and grew quite weak. However, there was a strange glint in his eyes, and he suddenly sprang forward with a rush of new power. His Torrent ability ha just taken effect, and his Water moves became all more powerful. Another rush of bubbles sped out his mouth and straight at Dawn, their power boosted from the ability.

"Dawn, try and dodge again. After that us tail whip and then one last tackle." Jonathon said, aiming the pokeball. This next hit would be the one that would hopefully make squirtle catchable.

Squirtle wouldn't give in easily, and he wasn't deturred from Dawn's easy dodge. As she rushed at him with another Tackle, he let out a cry, and launched another powerful Bubble right into her path.

The bubbles hit Dawn and she started to slip and slow her down. She kept going though to hit the squirtle. "Ok. It looks catch-able now!" The trainer said pulling out his pokeball. "Please work." He said, chucking the device at the turtle pokemon.

The ball wriggled around for several moments before coming to a complete halt.

Congratulations! Squirtle was caught! Would you like to give him a nickname?

"Sweet!" Jonathon said, grabbing the squirtles pokeball. He tossed it up in the air and then let his new pokemon come out. "Hello there and welcome to the team. Now...what should we call you?" Jonathon said, thinking for a name. "Hmm...I think I'll call you Darwin, he's a name I've heard associated with pokemon like you before. You like that name?" Darwin seemed to nod. "Great. Now, we have to keep going. We need to catch up to Evangaline." He said, pulling the GPS out of his pocket. "Darwin, can you use surf to get us closer to our goal."

Darwin gained a look of pure determination, and he excitedly ran up to the lapping waves. When the water reached his feet, he held out his arms, as if they would control he lapping water. Sweat began to fall down his brow, instead of a monstrous wave that could propel them while they swam to where they wanted, he could just hiccup a small bubble and shrug. He didn't know Surf. However, he could swim. Jonathon had two options: teach Squirtle to use Surf so they could easily travel on the water, or try swimming without it at the merc of the waves.

Jonathon grumbled to himself. He didn't have the ability to teach Darwin surf now. "I hate to say this, but it looks like we're going at this on foot." He said to his pokemon, recalling them all except for Zanna, who was still in his back pack, and Mist who was floating around him. Jonathon glanced down at the GPS and then up at the coast line. It was going to take a long time, but he'd have to do it. "Come on Mist." He said, beginning his trek to find the Absol.

Evangeline's dot steadily head along he coast occasionally and occasionally into the ocean. She did seem to be slowing down, as if se were close to her destination, but hasn't stopped. If Jonathon continued, he would eventually reach her. Eventually.

Unbeknown to Jonathon, he was being watched. It wasn't the man he had encountered before, Magnus's brother, it was someone skilled at hiding aura and a mindset of a killer.

Jonathon kept on his path. He didn't think he was being watched or followed. Who would be following him out here? He'd left that man behind, hadn't he. Still, the aura trainer felt relatively confident in his thinking he was alone out here. Some part of him was suspicious though. His mind was subconsciously scanning the area for any aura that felt off. He wasn't scanning a sizable area though.

The other person hid their aura well, and did start creeping toward him. Though, if Jonathon was listening hard enough, the crunching of sand behind could be heard, though they were stepping lightly enough not to create defined footprints.

The feeling of being watched began to creep up on Jonathon. His steps became quicker along the beach. Glancing over his shoulder every coupe feet. Eventually it got the best of him. "I know you're there! Why not just show yourself!" He screamed out to his surroundings, turning around to the direction he was coming from. "I know you're out there. I know." The young trainer grabbed for the first fallen branch he could, not sure if his follower would be friendly or if Jonathon would have to defend himself.

The watching person didn't respond, and remained where they were. That exact spot wasn't exactly a 'where' and more of a 'what'. They were still creeping silently closer and closer to Jonathon. The closer they got, the more their aura could be read. It contained a muddled set of emotions and a raging murderous intent, like a fire consuming all else in their mind. This wasn't a normal aura...

As the aura got stronger Jonathon could feel himself getting weaker. He was backing away slowly and his bravado with the stick was gone. It got too much for Jonathon to bear. He recalled Mist and put Zanna in a pokeball. With one last glance at the GPS, he turned and ran. He ran as fast as he could, getting off the sand and back onto solid earth. If he was going to get away, he didn't want to trip on sand. He didn't want to die. He wanted to survive. He had to find Evangaline, and find Magnus, and figure out this mystery. He wasn't ready to die. Dying was not part of the plan.

The person seemed to have tried following Jonathon as he ran, but he luckily managed to lose them quickly. As soon as Jonathon was far enough away. A cracking and dreadfully loud noise echoed across the area, and if Jonathon knew the noise, he would identify it as a gunshot. There was a loud scream of pain in the distance, where the chasing person had been. It sounded male. Now, the question was, was it the chasing man who was shot, or the chasing man who shot it?

Jonathon skidded to a halt when he heard the gun shot. "Oh god..." Jonathon said, slowly turning back towards the gun shot. He reached down and grabbed a new stick from the brush on the ground and went into the woods. Evangaline could wait if someone was dying. Jonathon wasn't going to leave a person to die alone. He began to sneak his way through the trees, keeping quiet. He just hoped he could make it in time.

Back where Jonathon had been, the body of a man now laid lifeless, his limbs sprawled in random directions. There was a bullet hole straight in his chest, where the heart was located, he was killed instantly. Lying nearby was a sharp and deadly knife, indicating that this man had been his follower. Folded in half on his body and resting under the used gun was a piece of paper, a note written in an unfamiliar scrawl:

His mind was controlled by dark aura, he was too far gone to be saved. Next time, don't leave it for me to deal with, I assume you don't have a means to protect yourself, so keep the gun.

There was no signature.

Jonathon gagged a little when he saw the body. Even if it wasn't a messy deat, it was a death. This was something Jonathon wasn't used too. Once he got past that he picked up the gun. The weapon felt heavy in his hand, alien. He fit his hand around it the best he could and pointed his finger along side the trigger to avoid accidentally firing it. He aimed out toward the ocean, trying to get used to the gun. He checked the safety, making sure it wouldn't accidentally fire on him, and then shoved it into his pocket, not having any real holster for it. He then turned back to the body. He knew he wouldn't be able to move it, but he could get rid of the knife. He picked it up and looked at the dead man one last time. He hurled the knife as hard as he could toward the sea and began running toward where the GPS was leading him again.

No other thing met Jonathon or stood in his way. It was easy travelling, save for, of course, the man that was shot. Evangeline's dot steadily traveled along the coast and ocean, then suddenly stopped. It was still a good distance from Jonathon, but it seemed Evangeline had reached her destination. Wherever that may be...

Jonathon kept running. He had too. His legs wanted to stop but Jonathon's mind didn't. He could stop when he got to Evangaline. At least, he really hoped he could. It wasn't much farther now. Maybe another mile or so, the GPS wasn't sure. The closer you are to a target, the bigger the margin of error. He was close though.

He was indeed close. Out on the coast, a small wooden shack lay hidden in a small cove. Evangeline lay exhausted in front of the door, and didn't even look up at Jonathon as he neared. Whoever was in the cottage wasn't there at the moment, the door was firmly locked and dead-bolted shut.

"Evangeline!"  Jonathon said, almost dropping the GPS on the ground.  He ran the rest of the way and about collapsed next to her.  "I found you."  He said, smiling and reaching out to pet the absol.  "Is this where Summer is?  Magnus told me you knew where she was, and he told me something I had to tell her."  Jonathon said, then the exhaustion he'd been putting off for so long caught up with him.  The aura trainer pulled closer to Evangeline and let sleep take him.  It felt...safe.

Evangeline laid her head onto Jonathon and closed her eyes, falling asleep as well.

When Jonathon awoke, he would find himself in a small but cheery bedroom with a quilt laid across his body. Evangeline would be at the foot of the bed, still dozing off. The door was shut to keep Jonathon's peace, and there was no one else in the room.
