Passing Through Viridian[Open to all]

Rilou growled, obviously on board. Alice smiled and nodded. "Sure."

Riolu jumped down from her shoulder and got into a battle position, an eager smile on his face.

"All right!"

Chezlaw through his backpack down, and grabbed a white and red orb from his belt. Pressing the button in the middle so that it enlarged, he chucked it into the sky, where it popped open, and fired out a thin red beam that materialized his chosen Pokemon-Pidgey!

"Okay, Pidgey! We'll make the first attack! Dive straight down for a tackle!"

The bird Pokemon cooed, and then folded it's wings inward, letting gravity pull it towards it's target-the small, blue puppy Pokemon underneath it. Pidgey squinted just as soon as it was about to collide with Riolu, bracing itself for anything that may happen to it.

"Use Shadow Claw!" Alice called out, a smile growing on her face.

Riolu swirled his paw around, and shadows formed around it. He growled as they turned into sharp claws, then swiped at Pidgey.

Heh. Shadow claw would be a nice counter, but Pidgey was part Normal type! This meant the ghost-type attack had absolutely no effect on Pidgey!(According to The Pokemon Database) And so the Pokemon continued it's attack, smacking head-long into the rival Riolu!

Pidgey fluttered back a bit, a triumphant "Pidge!" was echoed from it's tiny beak. If they kept this up, they may be able to beat Riolu!

Alice giggled. "Guess we'll have to work on instict as well, eh Riolu?" She said, smiling. She told him to use Shadow Claw to see if he'd either to what she said and get hit, or act on instict and use a different move.

Riolu yowled and skidded backwards, determination flaring in his eyes. "Use Counter!" Alice called out. Riolu grinned and used the move, jumping up towards Pidgey

The startled bird didn't have time to react and was sent back a ways, a bruise on it's beak. Pidgey beat it's wings so that it was carried into the air higher, and could get a good view of her opponent. But, as her trainer called to her, she fluttered back down.

"Pidgey, use Sand Attack!"
Chez yelled smiling, trying to not let that mistake happen twice. Pidgey did as she was told, and started beating her wings at the ground. In a matter of moments, a large cloud of blinding dust was blowing towards Riolu, aiming to cut its accuracy.

Riolu looked around, trying to see Pidgey through the cloud of dust.

"Use Quick Attack!" Alice called out, her eyes sparkling.

Riolu ran through the cloud of dust and jumped up with great speed, trying his best to lock onto Pidgey.

Chezlaw noticed the shadow moving rapidly from the cloud, it slowly became more visible, and he needed to act fast or Pidgey may get seriously wounded. Time for another clash, lets see it Pidgey could handle it.

"Pidgy, straight ahead! Tackle!"
He pointed to the shadow, and after a determined caw, Pidgey dive-bombed at Riolu, full steam ahead, beak shimmering in the afternoon sun.

Riolu crashed head on into Pidgey, and got knocked back by the attack. He bounced on the ground and sat up, then winced.

"It's ok, Riolu! I believe in you. Do your best. You can only do your best."

Riolu growled slightly and stood up, his paws in tiny fists

Alice smiled "Use quick attack again!"

Riolu ran with blinding speed towards Pidgey
