The Journey Begins

"That's pretty strange," Oak responded to Rue. "The building should've been locked." He took a look behind him when someone spoke, the audio coming from the machine silencing momentarily before Oak looked back to the trainer and turned it back on. "Well, I suppose it's sufficient to say someone broke in, and now the pokemon figure the building is theirs. Now, listen closely..." The professor explained that there was a box in a closet of the facility. It would look like a toolbox, but it would be a bit lighter than one. He instructed Rue to not look inside or to meddle with anything inside of the box, as it was highly fragile. "Bring that box back, and we can likely get the machine working again," Oak spoke.

Rue nodded "alright I'll get on it then" he said. Thunder-lily nodded and jumped off the machine and got a head start in looking for what the professor needed. Rue then turned to the three electric mouse pokemon "have any of you seen a box that looks like a tool box but really light?" He asked politely.

The two younger pokemon, still on the machine of which the trainer had been speaking to the professor through, had no idea what Rue was speaking of; after all, they were still young pokemon, and didn't honestly know much. The third, sitting on the table from which Rue had first seen him, didn't seem to be aware of any toolboxes either. It would make sense; even if they were aware of what toolboxes were, it was in a closet and shut in that small space; none of the pokemon would be aware of it's location.

"Guess thats a no huh" rue said but then smiled "its alright you guys dont mind if I just go look, I promise I'll leave after" he said with a smile.

The pichu didn't seem to show much of a discomfort with Rue heading to look for what he needed; after all, it would mean he'd be gone much faster than if they sat and fought him; however, the older pikachu, which didn't really want him there to begin with, was still uncomfortable with him looking around. The pokemon didn't get to voice the disagreement when its two adopted siblings jumped over and playfully tackled him, being forced to let the trainer walk through the building.

Rue chuckled at the three "alright guys I'll be gone before you know it" he said with a smile and walked in te detection thunder-lily ran in. Thunder-lily was looking in many rooms and sniffing around looking for the tool box look alike. She came up to a closet door and began to call rue. Rue who was close by heard her crys and ran the rest of the way. Thunder-lily smiled at her trainer when he appeared at the door way and pointed to the closet door. Rue smiled and opened the door and peaked inside.

To begin with, the inside of the closet was going to look dusty; after all, the door had very likely been shut for a long time. There were a few things scattered about on the shelves of the closet such as brooms, mops, or other spare supplies. Sitting on the shelf closest to Rue's eyes would be the toolbox-shaped container of which Oak spoke, covered in black plastic that seemed to require a key to open. Oak likely had the key to the box.

Rue opened the door fully and carefully took the tool box out, however he disturbed some of the dust as he picked up the box and sneezed the force of the sneeze caused him to hit the shelf with a loud thud and coused the mops and brooms to fall on him. Rue yelped loudly when the supplies fell on him but he protected the box none the less. Thunder-lily squeaked in serprise and quickly ran to her trainer hoping he was ok.

Rue would very likely be okay; after all, it wasn't like anything other than mops and brooms had fallen upon him; however, with the amount of force he had exerted when accidentally attacking the shelf, it was evident the wood comprising the object had become loosened. It seemed that dust had not been the only side effect of the closet being shut for a while; water damage had arisen over time. Unfortunately for Rue, this meant that a few pieces of the shelf fell apart, falling towards him and his pokemon companion, likely to cause a loud noise even if they were to not collide with the trainer or his pokemon. From the appearance of the wood, it was likely going to be a bit heavy.

Rue grabed the box and his pokemon and rolled away just in time as the rest of the shelf hit the area where they had been a second ago. Thunder-lily looked around and checked her trainer worried that he had hurt himself. Rue got up and looked down at his pokemon partner and box he was relieved to find that both where ok. Thunder-lily sighed and laid down "pichu pi" she complained. Rue chuckled "dont worry thunder-lily we're almost done" he said as he got up picking the box and his partner up. Thunder-lily happily climbed on to rues shoulder and sat there as he began to walk back twords the main room.

While Rue walked, various pokemon made their presences known, floating about or scurrying around the floor to wherever they were headed next. The little facility that was likely just used for storage had become some new environment for wild pokemon to hang out and relax, especially from predators outside. The two pichu, taking notice of Rue and his pokemon headed towards them, likely towards the exit, waved their little hands, the pikachu from before finally missing from the table. Wherever he was, it was likely a good idea given that he didn't trust Rue that much.

Rue smiled at all the other pokemon, he then noticed the two pichus and waved back "bye everyone take care and thank you for letting me search for what I needed" he said with a smile. Thunder-lily waved at the pichus happy that they found what they needed with out being force into battling.

The two pichu continued to wave while Rue headed for the exit; however, it didn't seem as though he would be heading anywhere just yet. Rain- one drop, and then two- began to fall from the sky, and moments afterward, a large amount of drops collided with the ground. A storm had brewed, and it would be pretty difficult to see through it... The machine from before started making noise, a rectangle appearing on the display with the words "Kanto Lab: Oak" written across. It seemed Oak was calling from the lab.

Rue blinked as he looked at the rain but when he heard the machine het turned and walked twords it awsering it quickly. He didnt mind staying with the pokemon for a bit, but he didnt want to make them uncomfortable by staying to long.

When Rue answered, Oak's face would appear as it did the time before. "Hello... Hello hello," he questioned out, testing the device before he waved to Rue. "I see you found the box... That's well and good, but we can't risk it getting wet," he instructed. He turned his head when someone showed up and spoke that a vehicle was ready. After nodding his head, Oak directed his attention back to Rue. "Wait there for a bit... I'm headed over to you in a vehicle. It'd be too dangerous for you to walk back here in the rain."

Rue nodded "ok professor I just hope the pokemon dont panic" rue said with a nod. Thunder-lily perked up and jumped down rues shoulder and ran over where the other pokemon where at.

There was more than just the few pokemon that Thunder-lily rushed over to; there had to be at least tens of pokemon hidden away in different corners and areas of the building. Regardless, none of the pokemon seemed to be panicking yet, a couple actually staring through windows or at the door that was open; after all, one of the exit doors was off the hinge; that meant that some rain was hitting the floor inside of the building. The two pichu, having realized Rue would be around for a bit longer, crawled to his shoulders again, poking at his face as the professor's face disappeared from the display. "Pi... Pi pichu pi," one questioned the trainer, asking if he wanted to play.

Rue smiled at the pichu and scratched the pichus head with his index finger "I'd love to play" he said with a smile. Thunder-lily looked at all the pokemon and explained why they where going to stay abit longer. Rue walked over to thunder-lily and the other pokemon.

The two pichu, upon having their heads rubbed, smiled with delight as they jumped from his shoulders and started scurrying about through the crowd of pokemon that was now gathering. Multiple of the younger pokemon showed up near Rue, all of them jumping at him playfully to take him down to the ground; it was like someone attracted the attention of a group of puppies.

Rue squealed in surpriseand fell back but began to laugh "guys stop that tickles" he managed to giggle out. Thunder-lily watched much more content with staying out of the chaos watching her trainer having fun.

Thunder-lily, perhaps, wanted to stay away from it, but the younger pokemon wouldn't have such. The group, upon noticing her possibly hiding amongst the older pokemon, rushed over and pulled her forward towards her trainer, the group returning to playing with Rue as well as her. The older pokemon just watched as their younger ones tackled, nibbled, pushed, pulled, and jumped about over the two visitors, finding it mildly entertaining; however, there was only one that wasn't there to witness it: the pikachu from earlier. Thunder raged outside, loud bangs colliding against distant ground or objects, causing each of the older pokemon to mildly jump each time a noise was heard. The storm was ferocious; Rue would be lucky Oak was on his way in a vehicle.

Thunder-lily smiled and joined In the fun with a happy chant. Rue laughed as he played with the pokemon but perked up when he heard the thunder he looked around in concern "everyones here safe and sound right?" He asked as he counted the pokemon he was with.

The pokemon, unable to answer Rue verbally, just nodded to him as a sign of confirmation. The younger pokemon didn't seem to be minding the rain or thunder that much, but then again, they likely had no understanding of what they were to begin with. One of the older pokemon, a little concerned with exactly how MUCH it was raining, made its way towards the door that was the exit of the facility. Vocalizing its concern to Rue, the trainer was prompted to figure out some way to avoid water flooding in should the rain cause an event.

Rue watched the older pokemon and nodded "I dont know maby we can fix the door to stop the water from coming in" he suggested as he looked at the broken door "that is if its not to damaged". Thunder-lily ran up to the door and examined it, being careful not to get wet.

Upon inspection of the door, it would be made apparent it was semi-damaged. The bottom half didn't seem to be too broken; however, the top half was beyond physical repair. Whoever had last been here had wanted to get in bad enough that they would break in. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to be that way anywhere else; everything in the facility, other than the circuit switch and perhaps a broken piece of furniture from the pokemon's playing, seemed to be perfectly fine.
