The Journey Begins! [MOD]

Up on the roof of the Nalemsat household we find one Chris Nalemsat trying to calm his mind atop the roof of his house to little sucess, not even the early hours stirring out the "Grumpy Cat" side of him as he tried to maintain his excitement. Not unlike his only brother he too would be leaving for the start of his journey to understand aura and all of it's forms. Surrounding him on the roof was his first pokemon Ryo doing a similar exercise currently in a sitting position, behind them Dai slumbered deeply alongside the recently adopted Sol, the two making a rather cute pair as they peacefully dreamed of whatever pokemon dream of. Staring off into the slowly rising sun he felt truly at peace, sensing the aura of all things around him pulsing in the beat of the universe, a constant comforting feeling like a warm blanket on a cold night. Noting Ryo's sensors begin to rise and glow ever so slightly, a sign that he was detecting something with his aura sight, he too used a much more limited version finding to his not so much his surprise surprise his older brother packing up to leave on his pokemon journey. So, he thought that he could ditch him that easily? Shaking his head at his big brother he hatched a devious plan of following his brother, he would return both the sleeping Dai and Sol to their respective pokeballs very quickly before silently tiptoeing across the roof to his room, on the other side of the house where Taika's was. Through an act of acrobatics most would find impossible without training the body and mind to an incredibly degree, or at least to a normal person, he would grab the roof before throwing himself into his room via the open window, grimacing at the general messiness of it. Man, he really should clean up before he left. Releasing Dai and Sol into a corner of the room so they could wake up on their own time he would set about quietly packing his already half-done bag, many sets of spare clothing being added to the main compartments along with his pokeballs going to a readily available side one. Making his room semi-decent for his departure he would notice Dai waking up with a loud yawn from it's slumber, in turn waking up Sol who looked around for the source before settling it's blue eyes onto Deino. It was quite funny how the smaller Dai would be noisier than Sol, who was about a foot taller than the dragon. Shaking his head at the random fact he would throw his rope ladder down from his window pane as he heard the subtle footsteps of Taika leaving the house, both he and Ryo shinnying down the rope after returning Dai and Sol into their balls. As much as he would have loved to walk with them, this was a stealth mission. Waiting for his brother to get onto the route out of town he himself would begin to follow his brother out onto the path from a distance until Riolu's sensors began to glow, likely picking up something happening in the distance that he couldn't sense. Holding up one, than eventually 2 fingers it would make the sign for "pokemon" which he had tought Ryo, in reality just curling up the hands as though they were claws. Alright, time for a fight! Ignoring all ideas of stealth that he had currently been using he would bound ahead towards his brother who was currently facing a generic pokemon that apparently he had noticed. However, what seemed to be the second one Ryo had sensed, was in his blind spot so that was fair game. Pulling out Dai's pokeball he would throw the sphere into the air releasing his dragon out to fight the generic pokemon number two. "What's up, Taika?"

The day was quite a nice one to start a journey in, and there were wild Pokemon of plenty for both Taika and Chris to encounter. Usually wild Pokemon strayed from being so close to human habitats during such times of day, but they seemed in a strange abundance due to the weather. Countless Pidgey soared overhead, and the quiet chatter of Sentret filled the air. There was little breeze and nothing to be gloomy about, all was right in the world on their first steps of their journeys!

As Taika noticed his first encounter and sent out his Pokemon in challenge, it would be a Rattata that met his gaze. Its white whiskers flickered in interest toward the challenging Pokemon, and she seemed to recognize that it wanted a fight. A small smile found its way across the rodent Pokemon's face, and she too took a battle stance. It seemed the wild Pokemon was courteous enough to allow Tallia the first attack, and her eyes gleamed with challenge and interest. A battle would be fine exercise, after all.

Chris's encounter would be vastly different from the rat that had gained Taika's attention. The Pokemon he had decided to challenge was a vivid pink color and floated gently in the breeze, giggling toward the trainer while the grass leaves on his head twirled to keep him afloat. It didn't seem to give the Trainer and Pokemon much mind, even when it was clear that he was in the mood for a challenge. Surely if attacked, the Hoppip would retaliate, but it was perfectly content with floating for the moment.

Now recognizing the pokemon as a hoppip, a rather common pokemon in these parts to see. However, that didn't mean that he was psyched to see one so up close, they tend to be much higher drifting on winds. Apparently his brother had decided to completely ignore him which was rather annoying, but it didn't really matter. Currently Dai was directly underneath Hoppip so it would likely be unable to notice the dragon which began to attack once it felt a small tremor in the ground from Chris, a signal to attack. Thankfully the twirling of the leaves on Hoppip's head made it easy to locate via sound and so drawing in all of it's strength from in it's body would rocket forth driving a headbutt into Hoppip's lower body. On the chance of this attack missing Ryo would take notice Dai missing the Hoppip before pushing off of Chris' shoulder and delivering a hard punch via quick attack to deal the damage that Dai would have done to the Hoppip. Even if it meant fighting dirty, he was not going to let his first pokemon get away. If one of the previous attacks managed to hit Hoppip he would pull from his bag a pokeball, enlarging it he would throw the pokeball at the now weakened Hoppip in an attempt to capture it within the device. Mentally preparing himself to give orders he would note in the distance a few pokemon that seemingly had yet to join the brawl. 2 exactly.

(yep, that's another 2 pokemon NPC's please. I'm all about the brawls)

Tallia's Thunder Wave seemed to aim true, and the his of electricity struck the Rattata and sent a shiver down the Pokemon's body. Her fur stood on end, and her whiskers flickered in irritation, as if she was now feeling some sort of itch she just couldn't scratch. Her body shuddered as the Paralysis took effect, but it didn't seem to totally stun her on her first attack, though. If an almost unseen flash, she rushed at Tallia with a Quick Attack, using the attack's nature of already amplifying speed to make up for the fact that she was now quite slowed down due to the electricity that now coarse through her muscles and caused them to tense up involuntarily. It seemed she was confident and smart, quite the combination for a young wild Pokemon!

The headbutt, too, aimed true, and hit the Hoppip enough to send the Pokemon spiraling toward the ground below, landing with a light skid and two bounces before her momentum finally ceased. Because the attack hit, Dai hadn't needed to get involved. Unfortunately, though she was an easy target for the Pokeball, luck would not be on Chris's side for his first attempt. The grass type still had some fight in him, and after two shakes of the ball, he burst out in a white light and faced Dai with a huff of frustration. His eyes glowed a bright pink color, and this glow then shot itself at Dai in a beam of energy, a Confusion attack in rebuttal for being oh-so-rudely attacked. It was clear that the initial Headbutt had weakened him a good bit, and one more hit would probably make him a much easier target for capture.

The two Pokemon Chris had noticed in the distant were a gruff looking Sentret that seemed to be in a brawl of its own with a much more frail looking Wurple. The bug seemed to be holding its own, and the two were almost evenly matched, but the Sentret had brawn and size and seemed to be the better one off. The two paid no mind to trainer or Pokemon, and it was up to Chris to decide if he wanted to leave them be or add to the fray.

Potential Future Encounter Info:

Everything around Chris was moving so fast, but thankfully he had a quick mind to keep up with all of the action going on. It seemed that Taika had finally noticed the younger sibling, calling out to him before having Tallia execute a nice combo that would potentially send the rattata flying away, but that wasn't his battle so he had no reason to pay attention to it. Meanwhile Dai would be unable to see the confusion attack due to it's incredibly poor eyesight and the sound alone not allowing it to react in time it would be forced to endure the attack, although it thankfully would not hurt him too much due to the type matchup. As a counter Dai would respond with a Dark Pulse, a wave of black energy mixed with seeming blades of darkness slicing would slam into the Hoppip likely sending it flying a ways away if it hit. Enlarging another pokeball Chris would give a show of persistence by attempting to capture the Hoppip again while giving orders to Ryo along with Sol who he would release after he threw the ball. "Ryo, Sol, I want each of you guys to go after those pokemon over there ok? Can't let just one of you guys have all the fun." A quick nod from each of them and they would be off to fight the Sentret and Wurmple currently locked in a brawl." Immediately Ryo would start off with a Quick Attack, blurring as he would attempt to slam a full force fist into the Sentret's stomach which would likely launch the poor ferret meanwhile Sol would go with a more safe approach, activating it's horns that allowed it to fly (canon, don't worry it surprised me too) the bug type would soar into the air above Wurmple before it fired off a Ember attack in the form of a stream of flame, likely giving the poor Wurmple severe burns if it hurt due to the type disadvantage. Throughout this all Chris would be alert and paying attention to the world around him ready to give new orders if need be.

The Dratini's move combination was a rather interesting one, and one that the young Rattata hadn't expected in the slightest. Her red eyes gleamed as she took in the sight of of the dragon, suddenly airborn come down to tackle her with the full force of the draconic energy that surrounded her. The poor rat Pokemon took massive damage and was sent spraling against the ground for several rolls, and with the paralysis also in effect, there was little she could do to dodge the orb that was hurtled toward her and she was sucked inside the Pokeball in a flash of white light. Struggle as she may, she was too weak to avoid capture, and after three steady shakes, the ball halted its movement, signifying that the Pokemon was caught by Taika.

Dai's attack, too, aimed true, and the Dark Pulse struck Hoppip, sending the airborn Pokemon to zigzag in the air to try and stop his rapid descending altitude, but his efforts were thwarted and he was sent skidding down the ground below, groaning in pain as he realized how much damage he had actually taken. The leaves atop his head were still spinning, and he tried to bring himself into the air once more, but the efforts were futile. The second Pokeball hit him and sucked him inside, but this time he wasn't strong enough to break free. Chris's persistence had payed off.

Hoppip was caught! Would you like to give him a nickname?

Sentret was too focused on Wurmple to notice the rapidly approaching Quick Attack, and was caught completely off guard as he was suddenly struck by the speeding Riolu's fist. Growling, the Pokemon turned its attention from the Wurmple to his new foe, though he was already slightly fatigued from his battle with the bug. He looked grizzled enough to know that he'd be a much greater challenge than the Hoppip Chris so effortlessly caught, it'd be a test of the trainer's skill, so he'd best not be hasty. The Sentret curled his arms inward, glaring as he did so and upping his defenses in a Defense Curl. He was playing it smarter than Hoppip could, focusing on strategy instead of half-thought attacks.

Meanwhile, Wurmple stood no chance against the Ember. He was already weak from his meek efforts against Sentret, and the fire attack seemed to be the nail in the figurative coffin. The bug let out one last cry before falling unconscious, fainted.

Larvesta gained 6 exp! Larvesta has grown to level 20 and learned Take Down!

Though, strangely, the bug suddenly disappeared in the glow of a red light, the same effect as a trainer recalling a Pokemon... which is exactly what happened. It was rather strange that a Pokemon native to Hoenn had found its way to Johto, and in Chris's excitement, he managed to attack and defeat another trainer's Pokemon! Said trainer suddenly jogged out from the treeline where he had been unseen before, an irritated look on his face. "Oi, mate," he said, "it's rude to go finishing off someone else's Pokemon. I'll let you have the wild, but you could'a just asked." He crossed his arms, "Wurmple could'a used that experience. Takin' advantage of another person's Pokemon while it's already low, that's quite wrong." He didn't seem to realize that it was an honest mistake on Chris's part, and just assumed the trainer had purposefully attacked his Wurmple.

Smiling at his sucessful catch, Chris would walk up to the pokeball stating the simple word "Speck." before going to move the ball to his belt. Unlike Taika, he would much rather introduce the pokemon into the family in a much calmer setting than the current one. Giving a smile to Deino he would note and smile at Sol absolutely devastating the Wurmple and Ryo already going at the Sentret like a wild beast....until Wurmple dissapeared and suddenly the region difference clicked. Well poo, looks like he was in trouble wasn't he? Although admittedly, even if they weren't native pokemon in Johto getting released or entering foreign regions via ships and such wasn't all that common so he couldn't be blamed fully. That and the trainer disguising himself so that he couldn't have been detected. A mental command to Ryo stating to finish it up quickly would hunker down, tightening it's muscles to go for maximum amounts of force before going in for the kill, flying forward for a Quick Attack which would merely be used for a grab, which a show of strength the Riolu would attempt to lift the curled up Sentret over it's shoulder into the ground, following up with a force palm to the chest in an attempt to end the thing. In the mean time, Chris would be awkwardly scratching his head while Deino would be bumping against his leg over and over, Larvesta hovering awkwardly behind him as if unsure what to do seeing as it WAS the one which had knocked out the Wurmple. "Well, erm, sorry about your Wurmple, I wouldn't have attacked if I had seen you. But if you really want to get some experience....well I'm always up for a battle. What do you say?" Sure it was a bit blunt and callous, but that was his style. Hopefully it wouldn't make the trainer too mad and agree to a battle instead.

It would seem the Sentret had met its match, for the Riolu would be successful in each fluid movement. Ending with the Sentrets defeat and an increase in experience by eight points to the Riolu, this increase would place Riolu in a higher level of power. The now level 16 pokemon had succeeded in defeating its opponent.

The trainer would let his eyes slip towards the other male whom had caught himself a Ratatta, his eyes rolled at the pokemon the male had caught, newbie trainers the man thought to himself even though the same could be stated for him. He was one of those whom despised pokemon that were so openly captured, mainly Ratatta's and Zubats. So many that they spawned like rabbits. Double standards were set for he did own a Wurmple whom was incredibly common in the johto region. Making his mind up the trainer would nod. "Sure, I'll take down your team" he said, obviously looking down upon the two pokemon trainers. It should be simpler for the opponents pokemons had already utilized some of their stamina in wild encounters. While his own team minus Wurmple were at full health. Retreating to a decent distance, the trainer would slide his hand around the sphere that contained his first pokemon. The pokeball would soon grow upon the touch of the button located in the centre. A single toss would complete his movement.

Within the air the pokeball would open, being pushed slightly back with the force of the light that burst from within. This light would soon take the form of a creature native to the Johto region, a four legged creature whom was categorized with the normal type. The reindeer like pokemon would release a sound similar to its own name as it allowed its limbs to stretch. The beautiful antlers gleaming in the light, a pokemon almost driven to extinction for these very horns. The pokemon was known as Stantler, and it was ready to fight. "What do you think, i bet you aint seen a pokemon as beautiful as Stantler right?" he said gushing over his own pokemon.
