It Had To Start Somewhere...

Heart had absolutely no intent of starting a Pokémon journey, conquering truckloads of opponents, or getting mixed up in all sorts of shenanigans. He was just taking a summer vacation at his cousin's house(his cousin was much older than him) in New Bark Town and was going to get some milk from the local Poke-mart. Little did he know, he would never get that jug of milk back home. As Heart browsed the aisles, he finally found the dairy section, and picked out a fresh-looking jug of milk. The teenager paid and walked toward the door, when someone stooped him. Mr. Gold, I have a package for you. Heart opened the package and found THE recorder. The one his family was only supposed to use in case of an emergency(you see where this is going, right?)He slowly reached a shaky hand toward the recorder, and played the newest recorded video. And it was very recent. The video played, and he watched as his Dad appeared on the screen, and started talking: "Heart, you have to hurry. He's back. And after the secret our family has kept for years. Go find Professor Elm. This shouldn't be hard, since you are already in New Bark town. Don't waste any time, hurry over there, and he should be able to help you. We are all in grave danger. He already got your mother, and now he's going after-" The video was cut off by static(lol) "Who?" Heart shouted, "Who is he going after? What secret? And who even is he?!" All of a sudden, a convenient explosion to move the plot along could be heard all throughout the normally peaceful town. Heart rushed outside, dropping the milk jug-(see? I told you!)- and saw his cousin's house going up in flames. DUN DUN DUN!

Our hero(I know it's a little early, but what else am I going to call him?) rushed toward the burning house, and looked inside for his cousin Jack and his girlfriend. Jack's girlfriend Tasha came out of the burning rubble, clutching her arm. "There you are, Heart," she said, weezing(get it?). "Tasha, where is Jack?" "I don't know, all of a sudden there was some sort of impact on the house, than I heard the explosion. After that, I don't know." "Well you're useless, so I might as well start looking for him," said Heart. "OH NO YOU DON"T!," said the narrator(me) "You have to find Professor Elm and start your journey to make the plot convenient. You can make finding your cousin a side quest." "But he could be dead!" "Too bad for him, I guess. Now go. Mush. Now." "Fine," said Heart, and he ran to Professor Elm's house. As he was about to enter the house, he saw a rather familiar looking(and creepy) guy about his age staring through the window, saying: "Aw yeah, soon all your pokemans will be mine, Professor turd. Hehehehehehehehehe..." "Creepy," our teenage hero said, "Oh well." He walked inside, to see a nerdy looking middle aged man in a lab coat and glasses panicking next to a table with three pokeballs on it. "Yo Professor! My old man wanted me to talk to you, for some reason! Now gimme those Pokemon." "Oh, it's you. Normally I'd say a bunch of meaningless dialogue, but I'm so freaked out I'll just cut to the chase and give you the Pokémon. I will tell you that the man who caused this is after your family's secret-" "I know. Shut up." -"Right, anyway, you'll have to go find the rest of your family scattered across Jhoto, and probably beat all the gyms on the way. It would really suck if someone came in and stole one of the Pokémon here, right?" "Yeahhhh, right? So, traditional Jhoto starters, right?" "No, actually, the author decided to change this up and give you these starters: Machop, Starly, and Roggenrola." "Come on, that sucks!" Heart said. "I'll just choose Machop." Elm said, "Ok, here you go," and gave Heart one of the Pokeballs. (Heart received level 10 Machop, with attacks Karate Chop, Low Kick, Focus Energy, and Rock Throw! Would you like to give it a nickname?) "Sure, I'll call you Bob." Machop/Bob gave his new trainer a confused look. "I have my reasons, ok?!"
