Half a heart~

A smile appeared on the girl's face when Leviathan finally found his land legs. She tilted her head in confusion when he asked her move forward. She was facing him, so moving forward would only make her run into him. She decided to move backwards, but that would give her no idea where she was walking. Oh well. While she was running these thoughts through her head, he had already begun to step forward - and was treading on her feet. "Hie! Hey!" She yelped, protesting, moving her feet away and slowly walking backwards.

Leviathan didn't have much time to process what was happening; after all, he was freshly a human; he was still trying to work everything out. However, when Twilight stepped back, he could step forward slowly. He was actually beginning to walk forward despite having a prop. "There we go," he smiled to himself lightly. He continued to have Twilight step back, each time the amount of time it took him to step forward decreasing by small increments. "I'm actually walking," he spoke to her, though before he could realize where they had ended up, he turned his head to see Angel and Naga on the sofa, staring at them both. They didn't seem too over-the-top about it or to be assuming anything. "Twilight, what would you say to I getting some food," Naga questioned to the trainer. "We don't have much cash... But we have enough for a meal or two."

Twilight was busy staring at the ground, vaguely processing the change in floor tiling. Only when Naga spoke to her did she look up, realizing where they were. "Oh. I could go get some." He needn't bother himself over that. Not only did she have a little food, enough for a meal for all of them, she had some money as well if they needed any. Besides, seeing how disapproving he was about her sugar consumption, he probably wouldn't get anything sweet for her if she asked. Or he might. She shrugged casually.

"You don't have to do that," Naga smiled lightly to the trainer. "And not only that, but you're helping your friend. I'll go." He kissed Angel's cheek, walking over to the door after he stood up. "I will return soon," he spoke as he headed out the door, Angel waving before the door was shut and she stood up herself. She walked over to Twilight and Leviathan, the latter eventually releasing Twilight's hands as he started stepping towards the doorway to the main portion of hte room... Believe it or not, he was succeeding.

Twilight waved as well, looking back at Angel as she stood up and approached, letting go as Leviathan managed to walk to the doorway. Following his progress, she smiled and turned back to Akina, peering around the sofa. "Oh, come on now!" Twilight spread her arms, beckoning. Akina ducked back with a squeal of alarm as soon as Twilight spoke to her directly, and the trainer diving after her, chasing after the brown fluffy fox as she raced around the room.

Leviathan grasped the wall, peering into the room as Twilight seemingly rushed by and chased her pokemon companion about the room. Angel also observed this, sighing lightly to herself as she rubbed her head a bit. It felt warm, yet more importantly, she felt dizzy. After so much stress over the last few days, as well as a bit of smoke left within her lungs, it wasn't a wonder why she didn't feel so well; her heart wasn't racing; it wasn't forcing her to use adrenaline just to survive for a day. "I just... Ugh," she grumbled to herself as she slid down the doorframe, laying on the ground as her face flushed red with fever. Everybody had been having their problems; it was time for her to fall ill for a change. Leviathan, whom noticed what had happened, looked over to Twilight. "Um... Does this sort of thing happen often," he asked out to Twilight, pointing to Angel on the ground.

Just as Twilight's fingers were beginning to brush the tip of the streaking and yelping Eevee's tail, her attention was diverted by Leviathan. Looking aside, she crashed head first into the wall. "Kyaa! Ow-- what? What was that?" She looked up, her own pain forgotten. Walking around, she spotted Angel on the ground. "Arceus! Angel! Are you alright?" She swooped upon the ill girl, checking her temperature before feeling for a pulse. Her face, flushed. Complexion, clammy. Temperature, feverish. Pulse, racing. She had a fever, no doubt. Akina peered around, curious and anxious, getting over her indignation at Twilight to come close to her close companion and lick her cheek, trying to rouse her.

Looping her arms around the older female, she tried to hoist her up on the couch. "Aie, Leviathan. Help me a bit here." She called, as she began to carry-drag Angel towards the couch before deciding the bedroom was closer - and more comfortable. "Akina, water please." The Eevee looked as though she was about to disobey, but decided against it and ran for the liquid. Struggling against the carpet on which her feet kept tangling, puffing with the exertion, she shoved the bedroom door open with her foot.

Angel glared lightly to Twilight when she finally ended up recognizing what had happened. She found herself holstered up by her and Leviathan, feeling lightheaded before the mattress made contact with her back, and she was laid down. "I'm not quite sure what's happening here," Leviathan spoke to Twilight lightly. "Why did she just suddenly collapse?" Angel was blanketed, her arms left above it. "Do humans collapse so all the time?" The absol-turned-human's gaze turned to Leviathan hearing his questions, and soon afterward returned to Twilight. "Collapse? What collapse? Wasn't I already on the floor," she asked lightly. "Why does it feel so warm in here? It's like lava's flowing under me." She tried to sit up, and succeeded in doing so; however, the consequence was her complaining of being dizzy. "I was fine moments ago... What changed?"

Twilight's hands clenched, squeezing the soft, downy blanket in them. "Fever, most likely. She's burning up." She turned away, heading to the bathroom where Akina was having trouble with the tap. Picking up the Eevee and depositing her on the floor, she turned on the tap herself, gathering some in a vessel. The Evolution pokemon made to protest, but Twilight took no notice, all business. A sick being was nothing to joke around. Producing a handkerchief from one of her many pockets, she dropped it in the water and walked back out, feet wet from spilled water and making slight sounds, leaving wet marks on the floor. "Um. No? You kinda just slid against the wall. Lie still. You have a fever." Applying slight pressure on her forehead to get her to lie back down, she gave her a look before switching on the bed-side lamp. Pulling up a chair, she retrieved the water and efficiently making a pad of cloth, lay it on Angel's forehead.

Angel found herself pressured gently right back onto the bed, the humanoid having a dampened cloth set on her head. She groaned, finding it relaxing given how warm her head felt at the current time. "Couldn't a bit of medicine take care of it," she mumbled, Naga returning home soon after the blanket was set over her. He called out to Twilight, setting the food he had retrieved down before he inspected the room and found the group. "My god; Angel," he cried out, rushing over. He had Twilight and Leviathan leave the room temporarily, Naga undressing her from her casual clothes before getting her laid down again and permitting the two entrance. "What was the purpose of that," Leviathan spoke questioningly, Naga looking over to Twilight. Angel was wearing a shirt a bit larger than one she could wear. "To make her comfortable. To keep her clothes from restricting the flow of air and temperature," Naga explained. "She has a fever; if we balance that, then it'll heal quicker." Angel was resting a bit, Naga kissing her cheek before he sat down beside her holding her hand. "I don't understand how this happened," he told Twilight. "What happened for her to be so ill now?"

Medicine? Perhaps. "A dose of quinine might, but I have none of that right now..." She said, ruminatively. She was ushered out in a whirlwind along with Leviathan as Naga rushed in. Just as she was about to protest - firstly because she was leaving Akina is there, secondly because she was a female as well - the door was firmly shut. She didn't have long to sulk; the door was opened in a few minutes. When questioned how she suddenly took ill, Naga was unaware that he was merely verbally reflecting her own questions. "It...could be stress...?" She vaguely stabbed in the dark.

"I'll call for a doctor... I suppose," Naga spoke. He was seemingly a bit upset, as he could be; the day was going so swell; now Angel was ill. "Keep an eye on her for me," he told Twilight as he stood up and turned on a desk fan so the air would circulate in the room. After he had left the room to get the doctor, Leviathan stared over to Twilight. "You seem disappointed you couldn't stay in here when he kicked us out," he told her. "I wonder why you'd want to be in here while she was being changed to something more comfortable for her." He then looked over to the fan. "And what's the point of that being on? It doesn't really do much for her, does it?" He had so many questions, most of which couldn't easily be answered before Naga's return, the guy escorting the doctor into the room. "I heard someone was ill. I came to check in," he spoke to Angel, walking over to her. He had the others leave the room himself, totalling two kick-outs for Twilight and Leviathan. The door shut, the doctor began to inspect Angel for what was wrong with her. "It's a good thing I got some soup, isn't it," Naga questioned Twilight outside the room. "She'll need it to get better."

Twilight tilted her head to look at Leviathan curiously. Why did he ask so many questions? Was it perhaps that as he had spent a small amount of time 'alive', of such, he had only minimal knowledge of the world? "It does, actually." She corrected him. "Fever is defined as a body temperature above the normal range due to an increase in the temperature regulatory set-point-- er." Twilight hastily corrected herself. "I mean, when a person is suffering from fever, their body is busy fighting the virus. Their body temperature rises as germs are uncomfortable in higher temperatures - merely a preventive measure by the body. However, if the temperature rises too much, it can cause damage to the brain or cause the vital organs to shut down. To manage the temperature, people are often sponged with water, or just by keeping the surroundings cool. Most people recover without any sort of measures." Twilight explained, looking up, having barely finished when Naga appeared, talking about soup. "Soup? I suppose. Yes, that'd be good." Getting to her feet; she'd gotten comfortable outside the door, sitting back against the wall; she offered to make the soup.

"You won't have to make it," Naga spoke to Twilight upon hearing her offer. "I went to a nearby facility that is apparently well-renowned. I got some soup, biscuits, and some soda and water..." He scratched his face lightly when it itched. "I also got a few fries and a couple of deserts for everyone. They aren't anything too large or else I couldn't have carried everything back, but it's something." A few minutes after he had finished speaking, the doctor withdrew from the room, shutting the door peacably while he looked to Naga. "Well... Your wife has told me quite a bit," he spoke. "But I'd like to hear from your side a bit. Could you explain what's happened the last day or two?"

"Where do I even begin," Naga sighed lightly, staring over to Twilight as though wondering if she had any ideas. He started his explanation simply, speaking of a few of the drastic events that had been transpiring; the one that he set a lot of focus on was the center explosion just two days prior. "And, you see. That night our friend here wanted to leave for a small amount of time to relax and regather herself," he spoke, half-speaking the truth and partially not to keep Twilight from scrutiny. "She was really upset. One thing led to another, and we sorta made out. It seemed to help; she was asleep by midnight as far as I've been aware... We got up the next afternoon and started looking for our friend because she hadn't returned... We foudn her, brought her back and laid her in bed to rest... Then things led up to this point."

"I see," the doctor sighed lightly, looking over to Twilight pondering the story a moment before to Angel's partner. "It's simply exhaustion. Based on your story, first the explosion boosted her adrenaline, and then it was also boosted by depression and your, as I'll put it, affectionate moment. Having an entire day for her body to settle, it's likely that she's got a fever from that... But it could also be from any smoke remaining in her lungs after these two days as well as an after-effect of the fires." He handed Naga a small bottle of medicine. "She'll recover fine within a couple of days, but let her rest. Give her foods that are light to eat, and mix this medicine into it. And no more affectionate moments until she recovers; that will halt her recovery." Naga only gave a nod in agreement, the doctor looking over to Twilight. "Stay safe, and help her relax and rest as much as possible. Give her a few days before you try to bring up any past dilemmas; stress could very well cause her to have a heart attack from what I've heard... And the same applies to you both; It's a wonder you both aren't out like lights too."

[I said two days prior because for one, Twilight left at night and it seemingly was morning or afternoon, then the problem with Surge and the stranger happened, and I assumed that they were saved and left to rest for the rest of the day and night. So two days o3o]

(Wait, what? No, not the day thing. Ready-made soup? I assumed it to be one of those sachets with that insta-mix powder. What do canned soups taste like? ._. )

Twilight had been sitting, affectionately toeing Akina who had been snapping back with sheathed paws and lips curled over teeth, largely unaffected by the presence of the doctor, not quite really listening to Naga. Just as she had planted a foot squarely on the chest of a wriggling Akina, she was spoken to, looking up post-haste, trying to look interested. "Of-Of course." She stammered, hastily moving her foot away. She looked at Leviathan, than back to the doctor, pointing at herself. "Us?" Did he mean them? Out like lights? Well, she had already rested, but a rest didn't sound that bad.

The doctor, whom had already started stepping away from the door and group surrounding it, didn't hear Twilight's question after she had pointed. He simply left without another word, Naga taking a peak into the room. The light was off, the fan still blowing, and Angel was resting on the bed with her eyes closed peacefully. He pulled the door, hearing it click closed before directing his gaze at Twilight and Leviathan, the latter having already looked to her. "I think he meant you and him," he spoke, pointing to Naga before letting his hand fall to his side. "I suppose we'll have to keep Angel's food separate until she wakes up," Naga then spoke, lightly nudging both the humanized serpent and Twilight into the main room. "As for you two and I... It's time for us to eat something and recover ourselves." He walked over towards the counter he had set the bags on, taking everything out; he hadn't been joking when he had bought stuff... There was the water, a couple of bottles of soda, a few Styrofoam containers of soup, some already-prepared biscuits from where he had went, as well as some fries and deserts, all of which emitted their aromas towards the group's noses. Leviathan, who had never touched or even fathomed eating human food, looked over to Twilight, his tail twisting a bit before it wormed its way into her hand and pricked her side lightly. "I've never eaten human food before," he told her. "I'm a little afraid to consider it." His red eyes, even though they looked fierce, now showed a bit of worry.

(o3o ? Wait, so they're in cans and have to be cooked? Weird.)

Twilight was ushered to the room where her eyes could feast upon an array of food spread upon the table. She was just gazing at the desserts when she felt something snake it's way into her hand towards her side...she jumped and shook it aside just as it jabbed her. "Oh!" She laughed nervously, slightly jittered. It was Leviathan's tail. "Nonsense! It's good~ You'll like it~" She cheerily assured him, brushing off the matter. And yet, to herself she knew that the smile she had on her face, however bright, was untrue. She did not feel happy. She did not want to smile. But having courage and being kind, she kept her smile where it belonged and guided the two to the table where she got busy locating plates.

(I did realize that one does not push off mental trauma like that o3o More coming up later where I have a fuzzy plan formulating.)

[No, no; actual cans of soup irl need to be warmed or cooked lightly to be edible. The soup in the topic is in containers (like bowls) and was already cooked given Naga went to a restaurant of sorts~]

Leviathan, who heard Twilight's attempt to console him, was still a bit spooked, pondering whether he should attempt to eat the food that had been purchased or not. Meanwhile, wihle Twilight searched for plates, Naga searched for glasses (cups), finding them sooner than Twilight would the plates. He set the glasses down, putting some ice in them before he poured one glass of water and two of soda, setting them all over on a nearby table of which they could eat. "Would you like water, or soda," he asked Leviathan. Leviathan chose the former, sitting down as Naga set the cup of water in front of him. Afterwards, he got to action in preparing the food on plates, taking up his and Leviathan's and sitting down at the table himself. "Come on Twilight," he spoke happily. "Let's sit and eat; I'm sure you're just as hungry as us." He set Leviathan's plate in front of the humanized serpent, setting his own down as he let his hands fall to his lap in relaxation, sighing lightly.

Twilight had hit her head twice, cut the top layers of her skin thrice and slammed her fingers twice while locating and extracting the plates, forming seven new aches and pains for her. Shaking and blowing on her fingers, she placed her hard-won platters on the table, drawing up a chair and sitting opposite the two males. "Oh, more." She affirmed brightly when Naga stated of how she was as hungry as them. Trying not to salivate as the food was served, she snuck a glance at Akina, sitting aside. Seemed that she still wasn't completely over the episode. She sighed, brushing and tucked hair behind her ear. and turning back to her food.

Naga, who started eating just as soon as Twilight, stared over to Leviathan, whom simply lightly tasted the food. Upon swallowing, he seemed to catch on to what he needed to do with the rest of it, and it didn't seem to make him feel bad; after all, he began to eat just as fast as the other two. "So, tell me," Naga spoke to Leviathan. "Having been a serpent, can you still speak like one?" Leviathan nodded, wiping his mouth with his arm before he looked over to the trainer. "Yes; it's not difficult... I could teach you both if you'd like... I know that the reason many snakes get hurt is because humans can't communicate with them." This smalltalk continued for a little while, Naga sneaking Akina a fry with a whisper. "We won't tell Twilight, will we?"

Twilight's eyebrows rose as Leviathan wiped his mouth with his arm before picking out a paper tissue and passing it to him. She listened politely as he offered to teach them - and considered it for a while - before equally politely turning it down. Akina wagged her tail as Naga bent with food in his hand, and glanced at the fried object dubiously before snarfing it down. Of course, not. She licked her mouth, and stayed beside Naga's chair for the rest of the meal.

Naga, whose hunger seemingly turned out a bit less than the other two at the table, found himself sneaking Akina a few more fried objects as well as a small piece of his biscuit; the only thing he couldn't really give any of was the soup, because it was liquidated and not a solid food. He reached a hand down, petting the pokemon after having fed her with such junk food as he looked over to Leviathan. "I suppose it couldn't hurt... I don't see why not." Leviathan, after nodding, paid his attention to the tissue/ napkin in front of him, staring at it curiously before catching on and wiping his mouth with it a few times.

Twilight flinched. Obviously Leviathan needed another tissue. She looked around curiously for where Akina disappeared, unaware that her swinging feet were nearly crashing into the Eevee. She gingerly picked up the packet of tissues and deposited it before the snake hybrid. She sipped the soup, and with a vocalization of approval, proceeded to wipe off the liquid. Crunching a biscuit, she leaned back, relaxed.

Naga continuously petted Akina before he scooped her up, pulling her into his lap after sliding back a couple of inches. His plate was already cleaned out mostly exempt a few crumbs, and the same could be said for Leviathan; the only person who probably wasn't finished was Twilight, who seemingly had some soup left and the biscuit of which she was munching upon. "So anyway... Did you rest well Twilight," Naga questioned, scratching behind the eevee's ear as Leviathan seemed interested and directed his gaze towards her as well.

Twilight was pushing a few crumbs across the bowl idly with a spoon when she realized both of them were watching her expectantly. Did someone ask her something? She sat bolt upright, fumbling for words. What was she to say? She didn't know what was said. "Er...yes...?" She jabbed, tilting her head. She had rested well, but she was still tired, but worry for Angel kept her awake, and the food now rejuvenating her.
