The First Step [Closed]

“TINI!” yelled the shiny Dratini at the sleeping boy.

Mitsuki woke with a start and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.

“Morning, Sissy!” Tsuki said in quiet voice.

“Dratini!” (Little brother, why are you still asleep?) the pink Pokemon said with an impatient look.

“Hush, Shirai!” Tsuki said.

It was then Tsuki remembered he was starting his Pokemon Journey today. He bolted out of bed and started getting ready. 20 minutes later he looked in the mirror. He was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and dark blue jeans along with his favorite sneakers. Around his neck hung his sister’s pokeball. He thought something was missing to his attire. However, he didn’t know what it was.

“Ready, Sissy?” He asked in the same quiet voice.

“Dra!” (Yes!) the shiny Dratini said in a chipper voice.

The two of them went downstairs and was about to start the small trek to Professor Oak’s Lab, when a wrapped box on the hall table caught his eye. The note just said “For Mitsuki”. He opened it and withdrew a white lab coat like the one his father use to wear. After putting it on, he realized it was his father’s coat, just hemmed to fit him. Then he noticed a very familiar Pokemon stethoscope with a Butterfree sleeve wrapped around the middle. It was the same one his mother wore all the time. He threw the stethoscope around his neck and wiped the tears from his eyes. Shirai nuzzled his leg before climbing up and wrapping herself around Tsuki’s waist allowing the coat to hide her.
Tsuki turned, walked out the door and, headed to Professor Oak’s Lab. After getting his Pokedex, Tsuki started to head out.

Everything was quiet for a while, but Tsuki didn't mind. He preferred the quiet anyway. He kept to himself as he walked deeper into the woods that connected Pallet Town to Viridian City.

Tsuki was startled by the new Pokemon that appeared before him. He pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at the wild Pokemon.

"Shinx, the Flash Pokémon. When Shinx flexes its muscles, it generates electricity. When it senses danger, the hairs on its body light up and it runs away, leaving its opponent dazed. It is indigenous to the Sinnoh Region." Dexter said.

"If it's found in the Sinnoh Region, then I gotta capture it." Tsuki thought.

He opened his mouth to call Shirai out, who was wrapped around Tsuki in a way so her head was perched on his shoulder, but no sound came out.

Tsuki panicked as his voice locked rendering him unable to speak. Thankfully though Shirai knew what he wanted and shot forward over Tsuki's shoulder.

"Dratini Dra Dratini!" (Dragon Wings, please guide my little brother!) Shirai said as a small mantra.

Tsuki's voice returned upon hearing this new phrase.

"Sis-Sissy, Twister!" He commanded in a soft quiet voice.

The opalescent jewel on Shirai's forehead glowed as a small cyclone formed and launched it at the rare Pokemon.

Tsuki's mind raced as he saw the attack. Knowing his sister was weak against Ice type moves, he called out a little louder than normal.

"Sissy, dodge. Wrap!"

Shirai waited until the last possible second to move. She moved to the side of the Shinx while positioning her tail under her opponent in order to start her second attack.

Shirai shuddered as the Ice attack took its toll. Tsuki started to panic as his hand hovered over his sister's Pokeball around his neck. He would rather lose the Shinx than for his sister to get injured. Tsuki was getting nervous and his voice cut out on him once again.

Shirai took over and released the young lynx from her grip before jumping back.

"DRATINI!" (EXTREME SPEED!) Shirai cried out before lunging herself at her opponent.

During Shirai's last attack, Tsuki pulled a Pokeball out of his coat pocket and pushed the button to make it expand to its normal size. Tsuki was gonna throw the Pokeball as soon as Shirai's attack hit but missed the first opportunity. Tsuki's mind quickly analyzed the scene before him. Shirai was breathing hard and it looked like the Shinx was pretty injured itself. Shinx preformed Fake Tears and Tsuki noticed that Shirai was about to let her defense drop. If that happened, the next attack would be game over for sure and he would have to return to Pallet Town so Shirai could rest and heal. That realization was enough incentive.

Tsuki threw the Pokeball at the Shinx and hoped that the Pokeball would be successful in its mission.

Tsuki smiled when he saw the Pokeball stop shaking.

"A-Are you alright, Sissy? You fought wonderfully." Tsuki said softly.

"Dra Draaa Ni!" (I'm fine. Let's continue to Viridian City.) Shirai said.

Tsuki put the earbuds of his stethoscope in his ears and gave Shirai a full check up. Once he was finished he called his Shinx out of her Pokeball.

The Electric Cat didn't look any better than Shirai did.

"Hi, Shinx. I'm Tsuki and this is my sister Shirai. I hope we can be good friends." Tsuki said as he reached out to pet his new Pokemon.

Shinx allowed Tsuki to give it a check up and afterwards Tsuki returned Shinx to her Pokeball for a nice long rest and told Shirai they were returning to Pallet Town so she could rest too. There was no way they would make it to Viridian City with out his Pokemon fainting.  

Shirai wanted to argue but thought against it and wrapped herself around Tsuki's waist and rested her head on his shoulder. Tsuki quickly retreated back to Pallet Town.
