Mercury's arrival

The plane Mercury took to Sinnoh descended from the skies and landed in the airport. They'd finally arrived from Minoru and Mercury seems eager to start her journey in Sinnoh. "We made it! Let's go Spheal, we've got a long journey ahead of us and our first gym will be in this city!" She said excitedly as she walked out of the plane.

It was finally time for Lillipup to get in some training, so Mercury decided to take him to the gym's training ground for some special treatment. If they wanted to win in the gym battle, Lillipup needed to get stronger and learn some new moves, afterall the only attack move it knows is tackle. "Let's begin, Lillipup. Start by doing some laps around the battlefield. This will help you train your speed and stamina, which is a big part of any pokemon battle." Mercury explained to Lillipup. "Pup!" It said as it started to run around the arena. It took a while but eventually Lillipup started getting tired, his muscles started burning and his breathing got heavier. "C'mon Lillipup, I know you can go further! Just a little bit more!" Mercury started to motivate Lillipup to go further, and it did. Adrenaline started filling his body and he picked up speed again, completing the last lap around the arena. Running straight at Mercury, it jumped into her arms from excitement and started to rest as she held him firmly in her arms. "Good job Lillipup! Now have a good rest, you deserve it. We'll continue tomorrow with some strength training, what do think?" She said to Lillipup. "Lillipup!" The reply was a clear yes. So they left the training grounds and headed back to the hotel she was staying at in the city to get some rest and be ready for tomorrow.

Blake walked up slowly clapping his hands. His houndour followed closely behind him. He was growling playfully. "That was great but, that wasnt really fun to watch. Wanna battle." He said as he petted his Houndour on his head.

"A battle? Sure!" Mercury said to the trainer which stood in front of her. Her Lillipup was fully rested after they slept in the hotel, and Spheal too. So both her pokemon were battle ready. The short haired girl with her short skirt and long sleeve jacket stood ready with her Spheal next to her. "Spheal, you're up first. Use Hail." Mercury started the battle off with one of her classic strategies. Spheal took to the stage as she stood in front of Mercury and activated the hail technique, clouds filled the area and hail fell from the skies.

Blake smiled. "Run,ember." Was the only instructions he said. Shadow (Houndour) was hit with a few pieces of hail as he ran behind Spheal and shot of an ember. Then ran back in front of it and did the same getting hit with hail. It was quite clear that they have practiced against that move.

As soon as she heard the word ember, she knew what combination to use next. "Water sport then water gun!" She was quick to counter. Spheal activated water sport, which reduced all fire attacks of the opponent by 50%. As soon as Houndour used the first ember, Spheal released a strong stream of water from her mouth, which shot through the weakened ember and headed for the close Houndour. This battle might be over much quicker than Mercury thought. An Ice type vs a fire type, most might have thought Houndour would have it in the bag, but Mercury has trained her Spheal's combination attacks and strategies to defeat just about any fire type that faced them, taking in mind that the fire type should be close to the same level as Spheal. She might have a tight strategy, but she couldn't beat a much higher leveled fire type

Shadow stumbled. The water from the water caused him to fall to the ground. It took him a sec to get back up on his paws. Thanks for the endurence training he should last a bit longer Blake thought to him self. There was an devilish expression on his face.  "Shadow beta alpha." He said.  Shadow howled then charged up a shadow ball.  He shot it off. It flew quickly toward Spheals' face.

"Nice work!" Mercury said as she saw the Houndour go down and take a great deal of damage. However it was determined not to give up, it got up and used Shadow Balll which was sent flying at Spheal's face. "Dodge it!" Mercury yelled, Spheal tried to move out of the way, but t was too late. As she jumped to avoid the attack, the Shadow Ball hit Spheal on her tail. "Quickly get up and use Water Gun again!" Spheal got up from the attack and blasted out another stream of Water Gun at the Houndour. Time to see if this mut can handle the pressure, which Mercury doubted highly considering it already took a Water Gun from a higher leveled pokemon and it's a fire type pokemon. Would it be able to handle yet another Water Gun?

"Run,boy." Blake said.  It sent a flurry of rage threw shadow to be called a boy and it manage to move out of the water guns way just in time.  "leer." He ordered. Shadow looked at Spheal Red glowing showing threw narrowed eyes.  Hi's lips drawled back in a snarling fashion.

The Houndour had dodged the Water Gun, lucky for it. It then used Leer, starring scarily at Spheal, causing her attack stat to drop. "Snap out of it Spheal! Use Hail again, then Water Gun!" Spheal then activated the Hail move again, hail falling from the skies and hitting both pokemon. Spheal's ability kicked in and she started healing from the previous damage taken, though Houndour would slowly take some damage from the hail for the next 5 posts, if it lasted that long. Spheal then used Water Gun once more, shooting a stream of water at the Houndour

Blake growled as he saw that Spheal used another water gun. "Dodge" He said as he spun around and tapped his foot to think then spun back around. "Tackle A" He said. Shadow crouched then dashed at Spheal. He lept at a fast past at it landed then lept again right toward it.

Houndour dodged the Water Gun again, and went in for a tackle. "Dodge it!" Mercury yelled, but it was too late, Houndour connected the tackle. The Hail kept falling, still healing Spheal and slowly hurting Houndour more and more. "Now finish this with another Water Gun!" She yelled. Houndour was close to Spheal as it just tackled her, so the Water Gun that was being shot at Houndour would prove to be difficult to dodge

Blake girted his teeth for a second.  "Ember" He said he shot an ember at the water gun He knew it wouldn't do much to stop or slow the water gun but, with one more pokemon up his sleevee he knew he would be able to get some closure  "Charge shadowball" He said. The water gun hit Shadow and sent him sliding Blake's eyes widened as he saw his houndour still standing but had stopped charging shadowball.

"Ice Ball, followed up with Water Gun!" Mercury quickly said. Spheal then rolled into a ball, covering her body with Ice. She then rolled towards Houndour, charging at him and as soon as he released the Shadow Ball she'd connect with it. The two moves canceling each other out, she then used another Water Gun at close range. This sneaky Houndour would get his sooner than he thought

Blake smiled "Ice aginst a Fire and dark type pokemon?" He said.  "Ember followed by a shadow ball.  He shot the ember at the rolling Spheal.  "Leer" Blake said grimly.  Houndours eyes glowed red once again.
