Arrival to a New city

The flight to Rustboro was quick and easy, due to tropius being accustom to flying the family around and knowing the path. They land just before the sun goes below the horizon. once they land Lucas's father quickly recalls his tropius and both of Lucas's simultaneously say.
"Good luck love you bye."
As they run to the Research building.
"You ready to start this adventure?"
Lucas worryingly asks cubone. Who replies with a quizzical
"cuBONE"
They wander around the city discovering the layout of the city and then decides to go train so he goes out a city exit and reads a sign that says "Route 16" and he walks down the route to see what pokemon there are to fight.

A Mudkip waddled out of the grass and blinked at the trainer.


Level 10

This might not be the best match up for cubone, but I'm sure we can take it down with a little effort. Lucas thinks, so he goes with this thought. "Cubone lets start this off with a tail whip." The cubone warily whips its tail and become prepared for the fight.

Mudkip tilted it's head, innocently wondering what it was doing. Hopping around, it playfully decided to use it's newfound move, Water Gun. It opened it's mouth and shot a large stream of water at the Cubone.

"Roll out of the way and counter with a headbutt" Lucas ordered more confidently. Cubone was encouraged by his trainer's confidence and he did as he said. He started running to the source of the water gun with his head in front of him.

Mudkip was struck and much hurt. It was just playing. Annoyed and disappointed, it used another Water Gun.

Cubone is hit with the brunt of the force and knocking him over. "Its alright we can catch him, use a headbutt one more time." Lucas says as he prepares a pokeball.

Mudkip dodged, getting the gist of it and thoroughly enjoying this new sort of game. It twirled and used a Mud Slap.

"Counter with bone club." Cubone blocks the mud slap with his bone and goes to swing at the mudkip.

Mudkip was hurt but the part ground, part water absorbed up the pain of the ground type move. Shaking it's head, it shot a Mud Shot at close range, before jumping backwards and releasing a Water Gun. Then it stood perfectly still, faintly glowing.

Cubone is hit down by the mud shot and is scrapped by the water gun leaving him wounded.
"Try to hit him with one more headbutt" Lucas say as a last ditch effort. and cubone with the last of his strength charges at the mudkip. Lucas grips one of his pokeballs preparing to throw it if no mater the outcome.

Thanks to the lowered accuracy, Mudkip was able to scrape by. It didn't move. Suddenly it let loose an Avalance (EM) of snow, hail, sleet and frost at Cubone.

Lucas seeing that cubone was in no health to take the brunt of the storm he recalled him into his pokeball as it began to wail upon him. Disappointed he hopelessly threw one of his pokeballs hoping for a miracle.

Mudkip hopped out of the way but curiously eyed the pokeball. It didn't seem to recognize the object. Perhaps a bit of friendship could tie a bond close enough for Lucas to catch the Mudkip?

(The last line is a hint. -_- )

Lucas began to walk away depressed till he looked back and saw the mudkip examining the pokeball so he got a brilliant idea and started rummaging through his pack and found some food from his flight to rustboro. He put his hand out with the food in it and wispered "Here's some food little guy." He slowly approached the creature being wary not to startle it.

Mudkip happily chirped and lept at the food, latching on Lucas' hand, albeit alarmingly and started hogging down the food. Taking huge chunks in it's food, it horked down the lump, before jumping back and licked it's chops in a most satisfied manner. It looked up at the trainer. He liked this trainer who had proven to be a worthy opponent, didn't take defeat too hard and even offered food.

Lucas takes out the remaining flight food and retrieves his pokeball and as the mudkip is eating the food he carefully picks it up and begins petting it when it finishes it. Lucas walks back to the Rustboro pokemon center with a grin on his face and he walks in and a mailman approaches him and hands him two poke eggs one that has a note that informs him it is from Winona and another with no note and he asks
"Where is this egg from?"
"From two scientists from this town I think." The mailman replied as he walked away. Lucas inferred that he meant analysts and that they were his parents, so he walked up to the counter and said
"Can you please heal my pokemon?"
The pink haired nurse said
"Of course and she took his cubone, in his ball, and his mudkip." After a minute she returned them with a smile. With that he went and bought extra food and took out cubone who jumped when he saw mudkip, but quickly accepted it. He then resumed to go pack to route 16 to try to take down a pokemon this time, as he ran back with renewed hope.

(Ahh, I think I'm supposed to play Nurse Joy since I always do but anywhichways.)

A Bronzor hovered out of some trees but didn't seem to notice Lucas.


Level 15

"Cubone lets give it one more try and start it of with a flamethrower" Lucas called. Cubone started to suck in air and started to build a small flame ball in his mouth and he shot it out toward the Bronzor. (sorry for not letting you be Nurse Joy i didn't know a mod was supposed to be her)

(I think the mod's supposed to be Nurse Joy. I'm not sure really. )

Bronzor was caught off guard and much offended, it first used Imprison, stopping Cubone from using Flamethrower anymore, then tried a Hypnosis to bring it to sleep.

Cubone was starting to become drowsy and Lucas looks around looking for what he should use to take down the Bronzor and he Looked down at the mudkip he was holding and he dropped it on the ground and asked
"Little buddy please just attack this Bronzor and he waited to see what the Mudkip would do

"Mudkiiiiip?" It asked questioningly. It didn't quite understand. It eyed the Bronzor but didn't move. Bronzor snickered at the inexperience of the Mudkip and used Psywave on the now groggy Cubone.

Lucas getting worried because of the situation looked around and looked for things in his environment and all he saw was trees and rock.He was beginning to lose hope before he notice that he could awaken Cubone with a hit. Lucas picked up a rock and threw it at his barely awake Cubone and when it hit his eyes flashed open from the jolting hit and he jumped out of the psywave unaware of his danger. "Try a bone club this time" Lucas suggested. In response Cubone ran furiously at the Bronzor and jumped it the air ready to smash it to the ground with his bone.

Bronzor was hit and hurt. Badly. It hovered close to the ground, it's significance not lost to it. Shaking it's whole body, it used a flurry of attacks. First Confuse ray, followed by Imprison and lastly, Psywave. If Confuse Ray didn't hit, hopefully the Psywave ought to confuse the Cubone.

Cubone is hit by the trio and is confused by the confuse ray and blasted back from the psywave. Lucas final realized that imprison has to do with moves that the user and opponent has and since bronzor is steel and psychic he most likely doesn't have flamethrower and most certainly doesn't have bone club, so he decides to risk the confusion and yells "Use one more flamethrower and take him out." Cubone does as he was asked and he charges up a flame in his mouth and beams it out. Happy with what he sees Lucas looks down at the confused Mudkip and whispers "we can do this." with a renewed hope.
