Short visit to Santalune!

"I, er. Perhaps. In fact, why not? Sure, come on in!~" Viola said cheerily as she moved aside to allow the people to come in. Inside, a large empty space could be seen with a pokeball sign in the middle. This was the battle arena.

Megan glanced Edward's way and smiled. That was a good idea; asking if they could both battke Viola! It'd make things rather interesting. Uncliping Cyndaquil's pokeball from her belt she got ready for the battle. 

Ok, so maybe picking Cyndaquil wasn't the best option, especially since he didn't know anyrhing like Ember yet and was moody, she'd at least try and get him some experience!

"Alright, Surskit, Vivillion! Get out there!" Viola called enthusiastically, throwing a pokeball onto the field. Surskit burst out of it and Vivillion fluttered on beside it. "Challengers first~" She said with a sweep of her arm and a bow.

Edward let Chopper out first. "Okay Chopper, use Fury Swipes on Surskit!" he said. The Teddiursa ran over to the surskit, flailing it's claws at the Pokémon.

The Pond Skater pokemon neatly skimmed out of the way before shooting several Bubbles towards the Teddiursa. The Vivillion, deceptively fast, glided over in one swift motion from behind and attempted to use Infestation upon the Teddiursa.

Chopper was unexpectedly hit by the Bubbles, then the infestation attack hit him. "What's that move do?" Edward asked Megan. He was waiting to see what she would do.

"Cyndaquil, tackle on Vivillion!" Megan ordered before turning to Edward, saying; "Infestation is a move where the user summons a swarm of bugs to attack their foe." she explained before frowning as Cydaquil used Smokescreen instead of Tackle.

"And you know the best part? It inflicts damage several times, once every turn." Viola chipped in, a bit smug. The Vivillon was Tackled to the ground, but she wasn't worried, or concerned even. Vivillon was strong, she could handle it. "Infestation on the Cyndaquil too!" It already did set amounts of damage, 1/8th of the opponents health each time.

Vivillon quickly fluttered right back up and summoned bugs to haunt the Cyndaquil. And at the same time Surskit skated over to release Bubbles on the fire type foe.

Both attacks hit. It angered and weakened the fire type as his flames flared out of his back. He then used Smoke screen to cover the field and  to make himself difficult for his foes to see before making a half circle around his target and attempting to tackle Sunkit as hard as his little body could.

Megan sighed. Couldn't have waited until she gave out orders? Although it was a good strategy it was also somewhat reckless. But, this was only her first step to hern his trust, and she wasn't going to,give up intil he trusted her.

The Vivillon quickly fluttered it's wings hard, blowing away the smoke to some extent. More specifically, towards the opponent's side, the thick fog now hanging heavy over the trainers and their pokemon. Surskit released another Bubble at the Cyndaquil before being Tackled, and the light Skater pokemon was hurled afar. Vivillon swooped in with a Tackle towards the Cyndaquil, trying to take it out first. It'd be bad if it knew any Fire attacks.

"Cynda!" Cyndaquil cried as he was weakened more by both attacks. He wouldn't last much longer if he kept going, it was causing Megan to worry as she uncliped Cyndaquil's pokeball from her belt and returned him, but once the red beam connected with Cyndaquil, it suddenly broke as if it were glass and disintegraded.

A look of confusion crossed Megan's face before she looked towards Viola to explain, green eyes narrowed in irritation.

(You can't switch out a pokemon which is affected by Infestation, until it subsides.)

"Ah, sorry, didn't you know? Infestation traps the opponent. You can't switch out that precious Cyndaquil of yours until the attack ends." Viola informed, appearing to be slightly apologetic and smug at the same time. "Oh, I can't miss out a snap of this battle!" She said, raising her camera, and taking a quick photo of the event.

Vivillon swooped in with another Tackle as Surskit tag-teamed up and used a second Bubble.

Chopper was still getting hit, but that didn't stop him. It charged fourth with another Fury Swipes on Surskit.

Surksit was knocked aside, and got back up with an angry cry. The Fury Swipes had struck thrice. That added a fair amount of damage to it's health. It released Bubbles towards the Teddiursa and quickly hopped up on Vivillon's back, who seemed to tolerate it. With both pokemon under Infestation, all they had to do was attack them now.

Vivillon swooped low over Cyndaquil, upon whom Surskit released more Bubbles, before Vivillon fluttered away to Tackle Teddiursa.

"Dodge." Megan instructed. Cyndaquil complied, very irritated and angry as he manuvered through the bubbles.

"Use Leer, then Tackle on Surskit." Megan huffed. Cyndaquil's flames went out as he dashed foreward at his top speed, leering at Surskit. Once he got close enough, he used Smokescreen as a form of cover and made a half circle in an attempt to hit Surskit in the side in case Viola decides to have it use Bubble thinking rhat they'd use a head on tackle. There was a good chance that this would either work...or fail.

Surskit, perched upon Vivillon's back, showed immense coordination and team work alongside Vivillon, who quickly soared free of the Smokescreen, despite having their defense lowered and eyes stinging because of the smoke. However, Surskit quickly lost his balance, falling headlong in the way of the Tackle and nearly fainting. "Hang in there Surskit! Bubble!" Surskit suddenly released several Bubbles, much more than usual as a last ditch attempt.

Vivillon steered clear of the smoke and tried to Tackle the Teddiursa, hoping the damage from Infestation should take the duo out.

"Keep on going but be careful of the bubbles Cynder!" Megan called out in worry. The nickname surprised the Cyndaquil as he got hit ny some of the bubble while still being able to avoid most of them. Once out of the fray he picked up speed, heavily panting as he made one last attempt to knock Surskit out.

[Geez guys, give me some time lol. I know I've been slow recently, but I've been busy with my competition]

As Chopper was still being attacked by Infestation, he could still see Vivillion coming a mile away, and dodged, then countering with Shadow Claw.

(Hmm? What competition? Best of luck in any case~)

Vivillon was knocked aside and fell to the ground, wings crumpling under her body. Climbing back up, Vivillon commenced to smooth her wings before taking to the air. She seemed to ignore the Teddiursa as she glided sideways, aerodynamically modified to fly unhindered, smoothly. Tucking in her wings, she attempted to dive-bomb and Tackle the Cyndaquil.

The small fire type saw Vivillion coming and growled, irritated with the annoying bug type as he continued to run to Surskit. He was getting weaker due to infestation but kept going. He was not going to let himself be knocked out by a bug! He used smokescreen once more to hide himself, and began to zig zag, trying to throw Vivillion off long enough for Chopper to at least hit it with another Shadow Claw.

Megan watched the Pokemon intently, concern in her eyes.

[Oh it was the Skills USA New York State Competition. It was a bunch of competitions that varied over many different fields of careers. There were competitions like Quiz Bowl, Prepared Speech, Dental Assisting, Masonry, Welding, Cabinet making, Culinary, Photography, Cosmetology, Early Childcare, Nail Arts, Computer Engineering, Advertising, a whole bunch of stuff. Mine was Digital Cinema. And no, I didn't place. But I still had fun.]

Chopper identified the Cyndaquil's strategy, and grinned. He looked at the Vivilillion. Definitely a big mistake for the Bug Type to avoid him. Chopper went through Cyndaquil's Smokescreen and attacked Vivllion from behind with Shadow Claw

Vivillon stopped just before entering the smoke cloud. Hovering at the edge of it, she began to slowly, almost imperceptibly flutter around the cloud. It saw the Teddiursa rushing towards it. Must have great eyesight. In any case, before the attack could strike, a metallic sheen covered the Vivillon. Harden. The attack connected and Vivillon fell to the floor, rigid. It seemed to hang on by a thread as it weakly got up and tried to Tackle the Teddiursa.

Just then Surksit skated in lightly and shot several Bubbles towards the Teddiursa.

By this point, Cyndaquil went in for the Tackle. He lept foreward, attepmting to hit Surskit hard with his little body while it was too busy with trying to attack Chopper.
