Training for the Gym!

Luna was searching for wild Pokemon or a trainer to fight. She wanted to level up her Pokemon so she could beat Maylene, the Veilstone gym leader, with her team. She knew that she would need a bit of training before she was ready.

A shady-looking character walked over to Luna, flipping a coin nonchalantly as he spoke, "Hey there, I'm looking for someone who owes me money...and they look just like you!" The misguided conman threw a pokeball into the air, revealing a tough looking Krokorok with his arms crossed like a body guard. It glared down at the girl, growling menacingly, "You better just hand over the money girl. It's no use!"

Sand Attack - Leer - Bite - Rage - Torment - Sand Tomb - Assurance - Mud-Slap - Embargo - Swagger - Crunch

Luna looked the man up and down, with out a hint of being scared. "Oh...? Maybe I am, or maybe you're just as stupid as you look. Either way, I could use a battle." Luna finished with a smirk. "Lunar, lets go!" Luna threw Lunar's Poke Ball, and the Shuppet appeared. "Shup!"
"Start off with Destiny Bond." Lunar's eyes started to glow and an odd light shone from her body.

(Bump?)

The man's expression did not change. "Crunch." He commanded simply. His Krokorok gave a curt nod before bounding forward with it's maw agape, ready to bite down upon the offending Shuppet.

The small ghost-type simply snickered as it quickly floated to the side, effectively dodging the attack. "Good, now use Night Shade." A dark energy came from Lunar's body and flew at the opposing Krokorok.

Krokorok grinned a toothy grin and lunged to the side, dodging the Night Shade attack too. Two could play at the game. Suddenly it darted closer and started tossing mud up at Shuppet, using Mud Slap. The man seemed slightly perturbed as to why the pokemon had acted without command but said nothing.

The mud hit Lunar and she flew back slightly, trying to shake it off. It had lowered her accuracy. "Screech, Lunar." Luna said calmly. Lunar opened her mouth and let out a ear-piercing cry.

Krokorok winced as the harsh, raucous sound bit into him. Shaking it's head, it let out a snarl, baring it's teeth. "Crunch." The man commanded, even as the Krokorok lunged forward.

Lunar tried to fly away again, but wasn't fast enough. As the Krokorok's fang latched into her, Lunar let out a shrill cry, then fell to the ground, already fainted. "Come back, Lunar. Take a rest." I returned her to her Poke Ball and tossed out Loki. The Houndoom growled at the opponent, and I waited to see if Destiny Bond would take affect or not.

Krokorok was just beginning to bask in the light of victory when a searing pain tore through it's body. It hunched over in pain, mouth open and gasping. Suddenly it fell over, also fainted. Shuppet had taken it's foe with it. The man momentarily uncrossed his arms to pluck a second pokeball from his belt and throw it on the field. A majestic Dragonair erupted from the sphere. The man smirked, "Ready to give up and pay me finally?"


Level 33

"As if." I smirked. "Start off with Smog, Loki." The Houndoom growled and opened his mouth, releasing a cloud of toxic gas that flew towards the Dragonair.

The wing-like appendages suddenly enlarged. With a strong flap or two, Dragonair took flight, also effectively pushing the Smog back to where it came from. In other words, back at the Houndoom. Gliding along effortlessly, it suddenly lashed out with Dragon Tail.

Loki let out a blast of flame, that cleared away the Smog, but the Dragon Tail smashed into him, damaging the Pokemon. Loki was far from finished, however. He snapped out his jaws, trying to use Bite on Dratini's tail before it flew away.

(If I'm not wrong, Dragon Tail should force Loki to be switched.)

((Sorry. Forgot bout that. Disregard last post.)) Loki was whacked backwards by the Dragon Tail, and his Poke Ball opened up as he was forced to return. Luna narrowed her eyes. "Omen, go." Luna's third Pokemon, a Murkrow, flew out and immediately flew skyward. "Peck." Omen's beak glowed white and she dived for the Dragonair.

(I thought another pokemon was dragged out, not the trainer choosing. But I could be wrong. Probably am on this one.)

Dragonair spread it's wings even more as it glided along. The peck struck and it flinched a bit, when it suddenly released light electrical shock waves, not strong enough to hurt the Murkrow, but bound to paralyze it at this close range. If that wasn't enough, it formed a small purplish sphere at it's mouth. A light aura could be seen behind it in the shape of a dragon as it hurled the Dragon Rage at Murkrow.

Omen dodged the sparks, but flew right into the dragon-shaped ray of aura. The Murkrow let out a harsh cry of surprise and pain as it was slammed into the earth. It was at a low health now, but it still had some fight left in her. "Brave Bird." Luna said simply. Omen flew up again, soaring above the Dragonair, before turning and shooting downwards towards the larger dragon type Pokemon.

Dragonair cocked an eyebrow (?) in surprise. It didn't faint. It nodded it's head with a newfound respect. While not as adept at flying as the Murkrow, it had more grace. Gliding along serenely, it managed to dodge the Brave Bird, before readying another Dragon Tail. Dark blue aura like rings pulsated around it's tail, before it dashed in with sudden speed, and tried to ram it's tail into the bird.

Omen let out another cry as Dragonair's tail smashed into her. Again she plummeted back to earth, and smashed to the ground. Luna sighed, and returned the fainted Pokemon to its Poke Ball. "Whatever. Take your stupid money."

No matter that the girl still had her Houndoom left. The man smirked as he took the money. "There now. You could have done that before and saved yourself a lot of trouble and your pokemon a lot of pain." Then climbing onto his Dragonair, he soared off.
