Squirtle hastely took steps backward hoping to not get hit by the quick and unpredictable movements of the foes limbs. Quilava's mind would focus on randomly thrashing around while Squirtle's thoughts are on an effective attack. He took advantage of this and used another Water Gun hoping to catch the unknowing foe off guard.

Quilava pounced aside and then Quick Attacked closer, trying to get as close to it's foe as it could before continuing it's Thrashing (EM).

How did that Water Gun miss? Perhaps Quilava's alertness shouldn't be underestimated.

This thrashing has to stop. Squirtle would try to grab the opponent around the waist, lift him up, and slam him on his back while landing on top of him. It's not a Pokémon move but a Spinebuster. It's a professional wrestling throw he learned from Monferno. While the forty-one pound Quilava might be too heavy for Squirtle, he must do this move quickly while Quilava's off his feet while thrashing or he won't even be able to pull this off. Should that work, he'd follow it up with a close-up Water Gun while he's on top of Quilava.

(So did the Thrash connect or not?)

While Quilava was dashed to the ground with Squirtle on him, it quickly flared up as it became encased in flames. The circular pattern of flares came back as Quilava attempted another Flame Wheel before the Water Gun was released. He knew it would do minimal damage but Quilava was aiming for something else that had assisted it many a time. It was trying to Burn Squirtle. With a status advantage, it could just take down it's foe. The flames connected with the Water Gun but they quickly evaporated, leaving a heavy mist in the air that covered the opponents like a shroud.

(I'm the one who should be asking that. :))

Squirtle takes hasty steps as he try to figure his way out of the mist. Coughing. He somehow got out of it and looked around and smiled at his Trainer just to say that he's okay. He looked back at the mist and decided to open fire with Water Gun. A spiral of water releases from his mouth.

(._. *didn't understand*)

Quilava tried to blink the fog out of it's eyes as they began to tear up. Suddenly a Water Gun hit out of no where, making Quilava skid back out of the fog. The fire on it's head and waist slowly dimmed as it weakened. Too much moisture in the air. It coughed once or twice before dashing into the mist again with Quick Attack.

(He's supposed to try and grab Quilava. Additionally, he has to do it while Quilava's feet is off the ground. So there's a big chance he fails and gets hit by the Thrash.)

As much as Quilava's surprise to the attack, Squirtle's eyes widened and his heart pumped a loud as his foe suddenly came tackling towards him leaving white trails on the ground. Squirtle rolled back and got to his knees. He noticed the fire has become smaller. He looked at his Trainer before doing anything at all. Waiting for a sign whether to finish his job as a predator or for Bruce to capture the prey. Bruce smiled at his Squirtle, he was just about to tell him to pause.

He unlatches a Poké Ball from his waist. He lifts him arm up and eyes the Quilava before throwing the capturing device at him.

Quilava suddenly swerved aside and snapped it's head to face Bruce. It had not noticed him throwing the pokeball so it struck him right on the head. With a grunt of surprise, it was sucked in. The pokeball shook vigorously until the Quilava finally gave up.

Congratulations! You caught a Quilava!

(Flame, can you put a space in between "Thrash" and "EM" on Quilava? Also, please replace Grovyle and Quilava's sprites and use this links instead: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/bw/253.png, http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/bw/156.png)
(Thanks and sorry for the bother. XD)

"Resistance is futile," uttered Bruce as he take steps towards the Poké Ball which now contains the Quilava. Once there, he bends over, picks it up and attaches it back to his belt. He turns around and looks at Squirtle's eyes. The Tiny Turtle Pokémon smiles knowing he just did a good job. "Thanks, good friend. Hey, that Fire Pokémon didn't do much damage to you, right? You still okay for another battle just for the sake of you evolving?," he said.

The Water Pokémon nods a yes. And so, they kept walking deep inside the cave. "Jeez, really. Is going inside deep this cave worthy? Like, is there something special in here?"

(I would except for the fact that the images don't appear. They become that...little...thingy that appears when it's unable to open the image.)

A small Dratini was floating around in the water, beside a Dragonair with a Dragonite hovering in the air. The trio caught sight of the trainer and while Dragonite swooped up to a high perch, Dragonair and Dratini remained there, then as Dratini nodded at Dragonair, it dived down deep. Dratini slithered out of the water and gave a savage hiss (?) at the trainer.

(Alright. If you could, just go to www.pe2k.com then go to sprites, Black and White sprites (NOT ANIMATED). Then click Grovyle and Quilava. I suggest use "ctrl F" to make the search easier. I'm very sorry for the bother. :P)

(Wait, there's a water inside the cave... o3o)

Bruce and Squirtle saw the pretty site of a family (probably) bonding.

"We got company," Bruce said.
"Eh, I'm not so sure we should fight. What if the strong ones attack us. Hm, hey. As you can see, I'm a Trainer. And uh, I don't want trouble. So I'm going to ask you politely. This is a bit funny... Can I get permission from you to defeat your little Dratini? Thanks... And please don't come at me once he's beaten. You know, don't take it personal. I'm just doing my 'job.'"

(Of course there's water in caves. Also, that website refuses to open :/ )

Dragonite peered down from above and seemed to nod it's approval. The Dratini coiled itself, although the reason for which it chose to do so was unclear. It was clearly allowing Bruce the first move.

(Try this http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/)

"Thanks for making it easy. I suck at words. Anyways, Squirtle, get ready. Ice Punch."

Squirtle's hand glows bluish-white. He punches at the opponent from a distance and a ball of ice is fired at the opponent.

"Eh, what?! You can do it from a distance?"

(Well yeah, Flame. Or at least, that's what Bulbapedia said... Weird, huh?)

(o.o Uh, no. Where does it say that?)

Dratini now suddenly darted aside. It's coiling up had helped it to collect itself and therefore act as a spring. Diving in the water, it popped out and raised it's head to the sky. It's eyes glowed and grew misty blue. A large Twister began to form over it as it suddenly flicked it's head at the Squirtle, sending the mini tornado at the turtle.

("Medicham's hand glows bluish-white. As Medicham punches the opponent, it is surrounded by an icy glow. Sometimes, it punches at the opponent from a distance and a ball of ice is fired at the opponent." That means it was used in the anime like that. Or maybe Squirtle can't do it ranged because unlike Medicham, he's not a Psychic. before I reply, you make your decision first whether you'll mark that move valid. If not, I will kindly edit it.)

(Well, obviously. Firstly, your Squirtle is...well, a Squirtle. That is probably exclusive only to Medicham. I'll go take a look. Either way, it dodged so go on~)

(Kay. Not being an annoying sissy here but I think you forgot to edit the pics. Or maybe youcurrently can't. o3o)

Squirtle had no idea how to avoid air. Or something that moves rapidly and unpredictable. He tried to run to random places but failed and just got hit. Sent flying towards a wall, drops down, gets back up to his feet and wants more pain. If he were to use another Ice Punch, Dratini might just use the same attack again. So just like old times, he'll have to lure. He uses a little Water Gun and so on as the weak spiral of waters repeatedly come out of his mouth unlike the usual continuous spiral, this is more like a "taunt spray" thing.

Dratini didn't mind the water and seemed rather cool and level headed. It obviously wasn't getting taunted. It had learnt that losing one's cool in a battle never was a good option. It just used another Twister calmly.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. The page. Problems. I'll see what I can do.

((Bruce Mathers: Chapter 9: Spirit Regained - Page 3 253Bruce Mathers: Chapter 9: Spirit Regained - Page 3 156 Could you try to right click on the sprites and click copy image URL and see if it would work.))

That wasn't what both Bruce and the Tiny Turtle Pokémon was expecting. Squirtle stopped firing and instead watched as the tornado materialized. Soon, it quickly dashed towards him as it whirled the dirt, sand and small rocks of the cave flying everywhere. The tornado moves so fast that Squirtle just didn't have enough time to dodge. He felt the strong air current whip around his entire body and he found himself spinning wildly in the air. His short limbs went to places he never thought it could go. He had no choice but to close his eyes or he'll just get dizzy.

Crash. He again crashes. This time, on the ground. He fell shell-first but it still hurt. Wounds and bruises can clearly be seen on his body parts. He laid there and wasn't moving. Bruce thought Squirtle has fainted. Until he spots a twitch on the Water Pokémon's finger. Squirtle slowly pushes himself with his arms and gets on to one knee and stands up wobbly.

He leaned on a small rock beside him as he wait for the dizziness to go away. Hopefully it will. He close and opens his eyes rapidly until the dizziness subsided but not completely. Just enough for him to continue fighting. He may be a small little cute creature but he loves battling more than anything else. His fighting spirit will never be crushed by anything or anyone.

He grins and stares at the Dratini's purple eyes from a bit far. That strong wind sure threw him a distance. "Are you okay?!"

Bruce's shout echoed around the rocky and sandy walls of the cave. Squirtle finally manages to get his balance back and stand on his own two feet. With a blank look on his face, he takes few steps towards Bruce and stopped until he's standing beside his Trainer. Squirtle may try to hide it but the damage can be seen clearly. That Twister was a critical hit.

The heavy and deep breathes of the Kanto starter caused Bruce to worry even more. However, that worry wouldn't last long. Squirtle's body becomes surrounded by a light blue aura for a few moments. Then, its eyes flash light blue as well. He shouts as the light blue aura spark wildly. Torrent ability has kicked in and his Water-type moves gets a power-up.

He walks fearlessly towards the Dratini with a mischievous grin. It's an awesome sight. It's like a heavily wounded man is walking towards a heavily armed terrorist. Now, Squirtle is literally face-to-face against the Dragon-type enemy. Suddenly, a huge spiral of water come out quick from his mouth. It's a Torrent-powered Water Gun fired in close quarter. It should be enough to send the foe flying and crashing at something.

That's if Dratini gets hit.

(Thank you so much! Also, you want long posts, is it? I'll play it your way~ *smirk*)

Dratini eyed the Squirtle coming closer. It could clearly see the damage it had done but it was unnerving to see something that heavily wounded to come staggering straight towards it, as though getting up in it's face. It dispelled the thoughts and gathered itself up again, getting ready to jump away in possible. The moment it would enter it's safety zone, she would spring aside (Yes, a female :P). The small fin like appendages quivered as her senses went into overdrive, trying to figure out what exactly was the Squirtle up to. As soon as it entered within 20 steps of her, she sprang like a Deerling and dived in the water.

Her sleek, streamlined figure glided effortlessly through the water. While the Squirtle may or may not have an advantage in the water, Dratini just went on deeper and deeper until she disappeared in the deep, murky depths. Small sparks danced across her blue skin as she charged up a weak electrical jolt. The water was electrified, making it risky for Squirtle to enter without getting paralyzed by the Thunder Wave.

She coiled up at the rocky bottom, before taking a look around with large, purple eyes. It started swimming around fast, stirring up soil that had corroded from the rocks over the eons that it had existed for. A large mud cloud enveloped the Dragon Pokemon now. She turned her snout to the surface of the water and her eyes glowed lilac again. A Twister gradually built up, but due to being under water, it appeared more like a Whirlpool. It erupted out of the wate, with Dratini at it's base, right at the bottom.

(:P Also, I usually do short posts because I have *cough*toomanytopicsbutIlikehavingthemall*cough* nothing. I said nothing. ^^'~)

Dratini twitched in annoyance as the sound reverberated through the cave. The Absorb connected and she writhed in pain as she felt her energy ebbing. She jumped out, her eyes flickering in rage. She coiled herself again and shot towards Grovyle, trying to ram into him with Slam. Her eyes glowed again before she thought better.

A large blue orb started to spiral around her middle section as aura-like energy formed and pulsed around her. A large blue dragon erupted out of her, there, yet not there. Material, yet immaterial. It simply could not be put down in words as the dragon hovered in air for a second, before torpedoing towards Grovyle, fueling it's Dragon Rage towards the opponent.

((Well, you're free to revert back to your short posts anytime you want. I'll sit my transparent shadow butt on this bed and maintain my long posts. :3 Anyway, you misspelled Pursuit on Grovyle.))

The indescribable attack crashed down towards Grovyle. It honestly felt like a magical missile just hit him directly. Explosion and dirt again thrashed around the cave. The powerful Dragon attack left a considerable depth of a crater on the spot where Grovyle was standing. He lays there on the center of the crater as the smokes allow itself to be whirled away by the soft air around the cave.

Coughing, he managed to get back on his feet and climb up towards the normal surface of the cave. He took cautious steps and tried to find his way out of the mist. Luckily, he did and ended up beside his Trainer. "Erm, I gotta respect that. No offense, Gro," Bruce commented in belief. The attack just looked awesome to his eyes. Yet, annoying as it's his ally receiving the pain.

Grovyle grinned. He can't really say anything. Even with much pain in his body, the shadows of Bruce's anger still haunts his mind. Really, why so scared of Bruce? He sets it aside for now and turns his attention back to the smokes. Carefully observing for any trace of Dratini. "I know you. You're going to come there with a Quick Attack the moment you see a serpentine shadow moving. Don't. Wait for the smoke to come out. Don't let your guard down though. Dratini might jump out there and the opposite can happen for you."

Dratini's fin-like appendages again quivered as her eyes began to sting with the fog. She flicked away a solitary tear with her tail and coiled up again, bunching her sinewy muscles to vault into action any time. For all she knew, Grovyle could just burst out of the mist at her. She let out a high pitched squeal, beyond the limit of either Bruce, or Grovyle. Dragonair and Dragonite could hear it just fine. She was trying to literally echo-locate the foe. Her appendages swivelled individually as she tried to pick up the slightest of sounds bouncing back. Success, however faint.

With the light sound she picked up, she was able to vaguely pin-point Grovyle's still form. Her eyes widened as she pondered over the situation. She silently slithered over to the water and entered it with hardly a ripple, simply gliding over into the liquid. Without the slightest of sounds, she came to rest at the rock bottom and carefully calculated her next move. She would wait.
