Searching for yet another friend!

Twilight reached the pokemon center. "Nurse Joy?" She called. Her voice echoed around the huge hall. She spied the PC in a corner and went and twiddled with it. She was impressed with the ability to store and withdraw pokemon. She sat down on one of the seats and waited for Nurse Joy to appear.

From one of the doors, Nurse Joy appeared, and waved at Twilight. "Want me to take care of your Pokemon? " she asked with a smile. Twilight gave her her Pokemon, and the nurse went into the same door she came from. After a couple of minutes, she came back, with a cart and Twilights pokemon. At the same moment, a trainer came and asked to get his Pokemon aswell. "Here are your Pokemon, they are all healed up!" Joy said, again with the same smile. After that, the trainer that took his pokemon, saw the girl-trainer, and asked her if she wanted a battle. "Two on Two! And, if you win, you can keep this in the bag. I don't really need it, anyway...So...You up?"

Uh...Sure! What's in that bag anyway?" Twilight asked, curiously, trying to peer in. But all the while, she was pondering over who to choose for a battle. Felicity was newly caught so no, all there was left was her starter, Akina the Eevee and Odette the Pidgey.

Standing opposite to the rival trainer, Twilight magnified the pokeball containing Odette. She wanted to observe the battle style of the trainer.

"Don't touch!" The trainer said, putting the bag in his pocket. After that, he enlarged a pokeball from his belt, threw it in the air, and a small Ditto. "This guy is very rare, so be careful with him! Ladies first!" he said with a smile.

"Er..okay?" Twilight was a bit taken aback by the way the guy snapped when she tried to find out if the battle was worth her time or not. "All right Odette, Brave Bird! As soon as you strike, Tackle!" Pidgey gave out an intimidation screech and flew way up. With a red aura glowing and pulsating around her, she dived down at the Ditto. The sight of a purple gob of jelly somwhat annoyed her. She began to change the aura into a cerulean one. At the last moment, she opened her wings and soared straight at the curious creature named Ditto.

Ditto had no other choice, but to Transform into Pidgey, and use the same attacks. The birds clashed together, but it seemed as the Ditto was a little bit stronger. "Okay, now use Brave Bird, once more!" Ditto ascended quickly, his body flashed white, and then quickly changed color into blue and started decending towards Odette, as she was still weak from the clash.

"Oh no! Odette, Return! Go, Akina! Toxic!" Before Ditto could strike Odette, Twilight returned Pidgey, who was standing in front of a rock. Hopefully, the Ditto, focused on Odette would crash into the rock. Akina materialized behind Ditto and spat out a glob of purple goo. If it made contact, Ditto would have absolutely no chance. With a Tail whip, Akina dashed in for a Tackle.

Ditto was scared as he missed Pidgey and broke the rock, finally stopping at the ground. Barely hanging on, he transformed back into himself, but the Toxic finally finished him. "Pfft....Ditto, return.. You could of gone better!" He threw another pokeball, and a small, and cute Meowth came out and started staring at Twilight and Akina with big, and puppy-like eyes.

"Aww..that's cute!" Twilight blubbered over the adorable cat. Even Akina seemed completely won over, and started wagging her tail in an adoring manner. Suddenly, She seemed to close in, and sat next to the Scratch Cat pokemon, rubbing her small furry head against the cat. Without warning, Akina spat out another Toxic and leaped back to get her distance.

"Hah! You completely fell for my trap! I pretended to be lost in the cat and Akina caught the hint. The tail wagging was actually Tail Whip but it didn't seem to have the desired effect. Eevee closed in for a better chance of Toxic hitting and now, all I have to do is watch the life in the nyan-cat slowly ebb away." Twilight explained. Even though she may be a fairly good trainer, she was never smug, always humble.

The trainer snapped his fingers and yelled "Actually, you fell for MY trap! Meowth, dodge!" And the cat without any problems jumped, did a backflip and dodged the Toxic. "Good, now use Bite!" Meowth quickly started running right at Akina, while at the same time, changing it's position, making it harder to counter, as it had chance of missing. It seems the Meowth was pretty fast, and might be a pain in the ass...

Hah! That Meowth was graceful! "Aha! My pokemon may not be as agile, but rule no. 1 of battle strategy, never ever tell your opponents your real plan, even if it might not be effective. Return!" Twilight returned the furiously-growling Akina back into her ball, then sent out Odette. Knowing there was no way Meowth could catch upto the aerial bird, Odette hovered high above the cat. "Brave Bird!" With the same eerie glows as before, Odette dove in desperation. Her first real battle's strain and the burden of using Brave Bird over and over again was really getting on her nerves. But Odette would inflict damage if Meowth even touched her, since she was coated with the aura. With sharp talons raked ahead, Odette speeded towards the Scratch Cat pokemon.

The trainer, once again, snapped his fingers, and said - "Aha! You're quite good! Meowth, dodge it with Aerial Ace! Yes, you heard me right, I said Aerial Ace! I taught my Meowth that move with a Technical Machine!" As Meowth saw how the Pidgey was coming at him, he jumped, and charged at Odette, as his body was starting to cover with white streaks, a moment before they clashed, Meowth changed his direction, and dodged the attack, barely, but still got hurt with the aura that was covering Odette. "You're move, newbie!" the Trainer said, as he chuckled.

"Er..thanks, I guess..." Twilight was now clearly worried. Aerial Ace wouldn't affect Odette much. "Tackle! Then Brave Bird!". Twilight commanded. Odette nodded, although it was in sheer fatigue.

"Tsk, tsk! That's no way to treat my cat! Meowth, use Dig, quick!" Meowth nodded, and then he jumped and dived at the ground, while his paws were digging a hole, big enough to fit him, and possibly Pidgey, seeing as they didn't have big difference.

"Wait...what? WHAT?! How on earth does your Meowth know Dig?! Never mind..No Odette! Don't go in! Prepare for a tackle and brace yourself for any sudden hits!" Drops of sweat beading both master's and battler's foreheads, Odette nodded, although Meowth was giving her a hard time.

"Heh, my Meowth is a special one! Now, use Dig and attack her from behind!" the trainer yelled and pointed at Odette. Suddenly, the ground beneath Pidgey started shaking, and moments after that, it broke, into small pieces, and Meowth came flying in, trying to get Odette.

Odette screeched in alarm and flew higher, but no one knows what came in her mind just then, she flew a wide circle and flew back, maintaining high speeds, aiming for a treacherous Tackle.

Strangely why, Meowth got hit by the Tackle, and was sent back a few feet. It seems the wide circle she flew, made him confused. He was unable to attack, still trying to rethink what happened just now.

The swiftly reacting cat now seemed slow and ponderous. Odette seemed to have found her rhythm and swooped down with her claws outstretched, aiming for the pokemon's shoulders.

Unfortunately, Meowth came back to himself, right when he was grabbed and started freaking out, once again. In shock, he tried Scratching Pidgey, while flying in the air.

Odette ignored the scratches for as long as she could, until finally Meowth scratched one of her tail feathers away. Tail feathers grew back but it still hurt. Anger gleamed in the birds eyes and she turned a half somersault in the air, flinging Meowth up and rushing towards the cat, fully in Brave Bird aura. She knew perfectly well the Scratch Cat pokemon was going to use Aerial Ace.

Meowth was so scared, that he forgot he had to dodge, and took the hit full on and got knocked back a couple of feet. It was later revealed, that Meowth fainted. "Aww man! No fair! Eh...I guess you deserve this. Here!" After the words, the trainer gave Twilight the little bag, which contained a Water Stone.


Akina gains 4 exp from Ditto, and Odette gains 2 from Ditto.
Akina gains 3 exp from Meowth, and Odette gains 4 exp from Meowth.
Odette levels up to lvl 5, with 2 exp left.
Odette learns Sand Attack!

"Yes! Odette you're the best! Err,I mean second best. Akina is the first." Twilight broke into cold sweat at the murderous glare from Akina. "Oh wow thanks!" Twilight peered into the bag, and pulled it away from Akina as she hopped onto Twilight‘s shoulder to take a better look at the contents of the bag.

She ran off to the Pokemon centre. "Nurse joy? I have a few Pokemon to be healed!" She set the pokeballs on the counter and stood waiting for the nurse to enter and man her healing machine. After that she would try to strengthen her bond with Felicity.

Nurse Joy quickly healed her pokemon, and brought them back to Twilight in their pokeballs, ready to use. "Hope you have a nice day!" Miss Joy said..

Twilight hurriedly thanked Nurse Joy and, grabbing the red-and-white globules, ran off, heading for the next town.
