Settling In. Chapter 1 of Robyn Floyd.

Trainer: Robyn Floyd.

Robyn's flight just landed in Kanto, and he found out he was staying in a nice city known as Viridian. He took a taxi down to his hotel, and walked into the doors to find trainers of all colors and sizes! He wanted to battle with his pal, Whimsicott, but he knew that he needed to check in first. He scooted slowly to the counter, hopefully avoiding bringing any attention to him.
He was sure he had made it when, "Huh?!" Robyn slid in a puddle by a 'CAUTION' sign and clumsily spilled everything from his bag. His pokeballs, trainer items, and poke-outfits (for contests) were all over the floor, revealed to all. He packed his bag as quickly as he could but all eyes were on him. "What NOW?!" He thought anxiously as he stood in the center of the floor.

I would be easy for Robyn to hear a small giggle coming from particularily close to where he had fallen. The noise was made by a teen girl, who had just come from Hoenn herself. "You dropped this," she said with a smirk, while holding up a piece of underwear that he must have missed. "All I can say is that I hope it's clean," she laughed as she handed it back to him.

She then seemed to notice Whimsicott, then grinned. "Hey, after you get situated, would you like to have a battle?"

Robyn really didn't want to battle. Not at all. But he did not want to dissapoint a pretty little girl, who seemed to have a heavy heart. He simply smiled back and nodded. "But we should probably go outside. I don't want to mess up this beautiful hotel," Robyn said in a bit of a whisper. He got off the floor and made his way outside.

"Good idea," she said with a small nod. She then followed Robyn with an eager look. Having never fought anyone from another region, this seemed to be a proving ground for her, and she vowed to win. "I only have one Pokemon, so do you mind if it's a one on one?"

"Perfect," thought Robyn. He ohly had one Pokemon as well, Whimsicott. He was prepared for anything really at this point considering he has traveled wide and far. Once he was far enough away from the hotel, he stopped and backed away from the girl. Robyn straightened up his face and pulled out the red and white orb from his pocket. The ball expanded in his hands, and he throws it in the air, declaring "Time to go!" Whimsicott appeared in a flash of red light. A cheery attitude seemed to light up the area around Whimsicott and Robyn had to smile. "I meant to ask your name ... Mine is Robyn." He waved. "This is my partner, Whimsicott."

((I don't mind. I actually think it makes it more interesting)) :D

"My name is Molly," Molly replied. She then took out her own Pokeball, then threw it into the air. In a burst of light, an elegant Swablu appeared. "And her name is is Cirrus."

The Swablu made a beautiful 'coo', and took flight, landing on Whimsicott's head in a way of saying 'hello'.

Whimsicott was scared at first, taking Cirrus' actions as a form of attack, but Robyn reassured Whimsicott quick enough to avoid disaster. Whimsicott played around a bit with the beautiful Swablu, before finally coming back to Robyn; Whimsicott was ready to battle.
Robyn nodded in the direction of Molly, as if asking her if she was ready. "You have the first attack when you're ready ..." Robyn yelled to Molly from afar. He put down his backpack, and slowed his breathing/pulse to nearly zero (one of the reasons where he got his nickname from). Robyn closed his eyes, stood up straight, and waited patiently for the command to start the battle. Whimsicott and Robyn did not exchange glances ... not even once. But they were both tied and bonded by battle. Ready to defend, attack, counter, etc.

.....

Silence.

"Ok then," Molly said with a sly smile. Cirrus had taken her place on the makeshift battlefield, and had a calculating look. "Cirrus, use Sing!" The bird complied, letting out a slow and tiring melody.

"End her song as quickly as possible! Use Energy Ball, direct!" Robyn quickly called, and Whimsicott obeyed, although it was already getting a bit drowsy by the sweet tune. Robyn bit his lip, hoping this Energy Ball could save them.

As the Energy Ball hurtled at Swablu, she was forced to stop her song in order to dodge. With an annoyed huff, she flew into the air, then dove at Whimsicott in an attempt at a Peck attack.

Whimsicott was still drowsy, so his speed wasn't as good as it could be. Whimsicott took the peck straight on. "Hey, you alright Whimsicott?" After stumbling back and sliding a few feet, Whimsicott got up and nodded. Robyn sighed. Whimsicott was fully awake now. Time to get serious. Robyn has analyzed Molly's stradegy now, and was ready. "Whimsicott, use Cotton Spore. Make this field yours!" Robyn commanded. Whimsicott knew exactly what to do. He began to run around the field, throwing cotton spores everywhere, and enveloping the battle grounds. "If this works, we should be able to reduce that Swablu's speed tremendously." Robyn planned. Whimsicott slid to a stop in front of Robyn and waited for the counter attack ...

Molly gave a slight smirk, and motioned toward her bird. "I didn't think we'd have to use our trump card so soon, but I guess it can't be helped with Cirrus so slow. Cirrus, use Attract!"

Robyn ran his hand through his hair. "Damn." Robyn paused, but only for a half a second... "Whimsicott, make a pile of cotton and burry your face in it!" Robyn said calmly. He folded his arms. The moment was now. Once teh attract was clearly avoided, Whimsicott poked out his head from the pile of cotton. "Before the cotton Spore runs out on Cirrus, we had ought to get a direct attack..." Robyn thought. "Ok, Whimsicott. Time to use your (Rasengan) Energy Ball." Whimsicott smiled and started to form the Energy Ball in his hand. Then, ran at Cirrus with as much speed as possible.

(( Rasengan style Energy Ball is just a normal Energy Ball that Whimsicott carries in his hand and thrusts into an enemy like Naruto would a Rasengan. it just gives more dramatic effects and does a bit more physical damage ))

Cirrus looked at the speeding Whimsicott with a look of amusement. She spread her cloud-like wings and took to the air, getting out of her enemy's reach, and avoiding the attack. "Sing," Molly commanded, and Cirrus complied, letting out the soothing melody once more.

"..." Robyn stood with his arms crossed. Something wasn't right to him about all of this. He noticed Whimsicott had already stuffed his ears with cotton to make sure the Sing wouldn't affect him anymore. He laughed inside and stared dead ahead at his opponent. "Leech Seed, Whimsicott." Robyn mumbled. Whimsicott charged up a Leech Seed and waited for an opening when Cirrus would land.
