Searching for Mew

She grabbed her pack quickly and looked through to make sure what she needed was there. Clothes, treats, bait, pokeballs, food, looks like she's ready. Just tobe sure she practiced making large aura balls to contain a pokemon as well as maintaining a giant box to surround her and the pokemon. Rio tried to teleport out of it using aura and only got half out. A few more tries and she couldn't get through at all. She didn't want to scare the mew, but she needed to be able to keep it still. A night of rest and a quick breakfast later and she was off!
Kimiko ran out of the temple and into the forest. She then called out in her mind to the mew, focusing on it's psychic energy and innocent aura. She kept calling as she walked and walked. It must have been almost midnight before she stopped for the night. She had dreams about the mew and more than once she thought she felt a soft paw caressing her face. This pattern continued for a few more days as she journeyed further into the woods. The very next day she swore that she saw a small pink thing flying through the trees.

There was in fact a mew around, one that was rather curious of this aura trainer. It kept feeling a constant shift in it's own mind about the young aura trainer. The question was simply why? The mew would never make itself know, disappearing at the last minute or only appearing as the trainer was sleeping. Mew had become rather good at keeping itself hidden and avoiding detection. To test this trainer and learn more about her, mew threw an apple in her direction before zipping over to another tree, undetected to both her aura and her site.

The apple hit the back of her head and she rubbed the spot gently. She looked around and was confused. Something had to of thrown it. "Mew? Did you throw? The apple? I don't mind if you did. I would love to see you if you are there. Do you like apples? I'll set some slices down for you." she called out to the pokemon asshe washed the apple off and cut it into slices. The slices were set behind her on a plate with some pokebait and treats. She was a kind person, and she certainly didn't want to scare the mew. She really wanted to meet it and possibly catch it, but only if the pokemon was okay with it. She broadcasted her thoughts out around her, for any pokemon to hear, not knowing exactly where the mew was, but figuring it was close.

Mew grew more curious about the trainer but still it would not reveal itself. It didn't detect any sort of threat, but that didn't imply it wasn't there. Mew watched her cut the apples and wondered if it should head over. Still, the answer was no. Something that did interest mew was that an injured Skitty came out of some bushes, whimpering in pain as she hoppled toward Kimi, a nasty cut on her leg clearly visible and her body looking like she hadn't eaten in days. Mew would watch this interaction careful in order to judge what kind of heart this trainer had.

Kimiko heard the rustling of bushes and turned slowly to see an injured pokemon. "Oh you poor thing!" she softly exclaimed and helped the small creature over to the small plate of food. She tried to feed it some of the soft pokebait and dug in her pack for her first aid kit. While the pokemon ate, she spoke words of comfort to it and sang a calming song. Wounds would be cleaned gently and then wrapped with a special healing salve and bandages.
"There there, little one. Stay and eat as long and as much as you want. Don't be afraid to call for help. And try not to eat too fast. Here's some water." A bowl of water was placed nearby. Kimiko then resumed her seat, but moved her things so she could sit close by the skitty. If the poor thing started falling asleep, a small blanket would be wrapped around it's body to keep it warm. Once it woke up, thanks to the salve, it should be healed completely.

The skitty seemed to nearly collapse as the trainer started to help her out. She at some of the bait, not much, and was thankful when the salve and bandages were applied. Not long after that she passed out from exhaustion. Mew witnessed this and had had enough time debating the heart of this trainer. It would allow her to see it, but any odd movements and Mew would be out of there quicker than she could blink. Mew hovered out from the tree, not making a single sound as it drew closer. Mew then tapped the trainer's shoulder and moved to the other side, hoping to trick the trainer into looking the wrong way.

Kimi petted the skitty softly when she felt the pat on her shoulder and fell for mew's trick. She giggled and said, "Good trick, little one." She then turned to get a full view of mew before it dashed off again. "It's okay. I'm a good person. Nike, watch over the skitty please." Nike nodded and sat before the oher cat pokemon.
The girl followed the direction she saw the pokemon going, but kept an eye on her camp so she could find her way, though somehow, she got lost, really lost. "Oh dear, they're all asleep, I can't reach anyone's mind." Kimi sighed and sat down at the base of a tree.
"Mew? Are you there?" another sigh escaped her lips and a habit from when she was younger. She made a small glowing ball of aura and started to roll it back and forth in her hands before standing and preforming a complex dance with the ball rolling over her body and lighting up parts of her body and face. Her face was completely serene and her body flowed. As it got darker, her dance slowed down and her eyes closed, giving her the most calm and peaceful countenance anyone could ever see.

Mew watched from afar as the girl walked a bit away from her own pokemon. Mew followed and sense a slight trouble in the girls prescence. The trick with the aura was what really drew Mew in. It was very intersted in those that had a way with aura. Mew was even so interested that it went over and stole the ball of aura away from Kimiko when she seemed close to finishing her dance. Mew hovered there slightly, definitely long enough for Kimiko to say something if she wanted to.

She felt the ball get stolen, and opened her eyes to see mew lit up by aura. "Why hello, mew. Would you like to play?" she said in a trance-like voice reaching her hands out for the ball. If mew threw it, she would make it float in the air and "toss" it for mew to follow, and she would let the pokemon catch it now and again before her stomach rumble and she lost concentration. The white haired lass was hungry, and it wasn't good for her to be as hungry as she was. Her super high metabolism always burned through whatever she ate quickly. Her dancing didn't help either. Her vision was starting to blur and she felt weak. She met the ground with a thunk and curled into a ball.

Mew eyed kimiko, then the ball. It wasn't sure what the trainer wanted but threw it at her anyway. It also chased after it when she threw it again. This was kind of fun and Mew loved to play games. But then it grew concerned when it noticed the trainer fall to the ground. Mew landed next to the girl and placed a hand on her. Mew wasn't sure what was wrong with the trainer but flew off in the direction of her pokemon. When mew came upon the Purrloin it shook it away and motioned towards where the trainer lay on the ground.

Purrloin batted at the hand that awoke it playfully before actually waking up. A yawning purr with stretching was met with an eyeful of mew. She looked toward where mew pointed and grabbed some of Kimiko's emergency sweets before heading in the direction. Once she was there, Kimi's first pokemon knew what was wrong and was glad that she brought her human's treats. She petted Kimiko's bright silvery hair and handed a treat to her. Kimiko ate it and stopped shaking. Another and she was able to sit up. Nike made an aura walking stick for her and the pair walked back to the campsite. Upon returning, Rio came and fretted over Kimiko. The girl sat and hugged her pokemon. She was always thankful when they helped her. She then looked over at mew with a sleepy smile. "Thank you, mew. I owe you one." A smile graced the girl's lips and she patted the forest floor beside her. Oh, and Rio did some more fretting and got her trainer some of her protein bars and stared intently until Kimiko ate them.

Mew was scared for this trainer, who seemed so vulnerable. It seemed to calm down upon seeing Kimiko regain her strength just a bit and make it back to the spot it first saw her at, but Mew still worried over her. It landed next to her, tugging on her sleeve and looking up hopefully. "Mew?" Mew tilted it's head to the side as tears formed in the corner of it's eyes. It seemed the playful pokemon wanted to express it's scared reaction in more than one way.

When Mew tugged on her sleeve, she looked over with a smile that fell when she saw the tears. A slow hand reached out to cup the Mew's cheek and she went to kiss it on the forehead. "Don't be scared little one. I'm alright now, I promise. That's enough food, Rio." she finished as Rio was trying to give her more food. A snuggle and tickle later, Rio was laughing in her way and Nike was in her back playing with Kimi's hair. They hadn't done this in a while, but she made sure to most days. "Hey, Mew? How would you like to travel with me and my little group? We'd love to have you." Every pokemon nodded, even Flara who was too stubborn to wake up.

Mew looked at the trainer and smiled a bit, nodding eagerly before performing a small series of flips and flying in to hug Kimiko. Mew was extremely thrilled to see the other girl wasn't harmed and it knew it would be happy with a trainer that truly cared for her pokemon. Now it just had to wait to see if Kimi would understand that Mew wanted to go with her and her pokemon as if that little stunt wasn't enough.

Kimiko caught Mew in a hug and giggled happily. Mew was so cute and Kimi got it's message loud and clear. She leaned over and grabbed a pokeball from her pack. "You'll have to go in here for a few seconds, and then you can come back out, okay?" As if to demonstrate, Nike pressed the button to it's ball, stayed in for about five seconds and the popped back out with a 'ta da!'

Mew pushed the button on the pokeball, a bit hesitant seeing as it wasn't sure how it felt about such things, but it trusted Kimiko and her pokemon. After being drawn into the pokeball, it didn't take very long before the ball clicked and mew was caught successfully.

Mew has joined your team.

Kimiko was glad. Now she could head back to the temple. She let Mew out and smiled when the pokemon snuggled against her cheek. The group packed up and headed back to the temple. The trip would take a little longer this direction as she wanted to get to know her new friend. She thought about names for Mew, but there was nothing but it's own name that fit. She also discovered that this genderless pokemon had a somewhat feminine personality. She loved hugging the soft pink pokemon and tickling her was a joy. All of her pokemon got along famously, even her stubborn girl loved trying to catch Mew's waving tail. Once when they stopped, Kimiko had Flara light a fire and they enjoyed a warm meal together. Her dark egg was in her lap and Mew kept mewing questions at Kimiko. "I'm wondering what's in it too, Mew."

The combined heat of the fire and Kimiko's body heat seemed to provide that extra little push to start the egg to crazy and move as it rolled out of Kimiko's lap. There was some struggling as one leg poked out, then another. With all it's strength the baby pokemon shook off the last of the egg, shattering it in one go. After a second of squirming the white furred pokemon would look up at Kimiko and wobble it's way over to it's trainer. The baby pokemon was none other than an absol.

Kimiko's egg hatched into a female Absol!

A bright white light surprised Kimiko and then a heavy curled up weight was on her lap. A female absol, her gleaming white fur dazzling in the firelight, was waking up, opening her pretty red eyes. "Well hello, pretty girl. How are you?" The absol yawned and stretched. She then got up off of her trainer's lap and growled at something in the woods. Mew seemed to react as well, floating behind Kimi's head being cautious like usual.

A pidget hobbled out of the forest. It say the shattered remains of the egg and hopped toward the pokemon in Kimiko's lap. Whether or not the trainer agreed to the battle it was going to challenge her if he had anything to say about it!

A wild Pidgey (male, level 3) appeared!

Absol growled as it came closer and swiped a warning paw. The pokemon seemed to be wanting a fight, and absol would give it to him. The brand new pokemon threw a scratch at the pidgey. "Little girl, be careful." Kimiko said to her absol. The pokemon nodded and looked to her for further instruction. "Be prepared to dodge and then go in for a sneak attack (feint) when you see an opening."

Pidgey dodged the scratch with ease. It wasn't even doing anything wrong...yet... and that thing was having a hissy fit! Pidgey flapped it's little wings and went straight at absol with a tackle, planning on taking her down!

Absol was hit by the tackle, but it wasn't very effective as she dodged most of the hit. A heavy scratch came from behind the bird followed by another feint. "There you go, you can do it girl!" Kimi called gently. What should she name her little girl? Kimiko would have to keep thinking.

The pidgey took the scratch to it's back. It was much more effective than it had prepared itself for, but but it hopped out of the way before any more would hit it, heading back in with another tackle.

The much larger and heavier pokemon dodged the tackle and tried to scratch the pokemon with a rear kick. "Patience, use your mind, Luna." Luna nodded and stared down her opponent, trying to read it.
