Searching for Mew

Pidgey managed to move out of the way just in time. It got slightly cocky and headed back in with yet another tackle but it wasn't well placed at all for it had closed it's eyes and was charging in head first. If the absol focused, she could get in a critical hit if she made good contact with the charging pokemon.

Absol hunkered down to gather up power, and then lashed out, aiming a scratch right at the bird's face. If somehow she missed, she would jump up and try to dodge the tackle.

The scratch landed across the pidgey's face and sent it flying backwards and splayed on it's back on the ground. The bird lay limp for a few seconds. It seemed that the Absol had beaten it, and very good at that. The pidgey took a few more seconds before hobbling off.

Pidgey lost. Luna gained 3xp. Luna advanced to level 3.

Luna was very proud at her win. She literally skipped back over to Kimiko and then nudged her hand like she wanted pet. Kimi obliged and pet Luna while praising her silently. Luna kind of looked at her trainer funny. Kimiko chuckled and made an aura ball. The Absol seemed to understand and rubbed her cheek against Kimiko's. Rio and Nike came over to greet the newcomer, shortly followed by Flara who was a little miffed that she didn't get to fight but this baby did. The four established pokemon greeted Luna with happy sounds and actions. Mew especially was excited to play with this new pokemon. The aura ball Kimiko had created was snatched and used to play catch and fetch. Evventually, Mew saw something in a bush. It glided over and picked up the red and white ball and flew it over to Kimiko. She took the ball and studied it. No identifying marks or even a trainer for miles, Mew's response in her mind had told her that much. Pressing the small button, a pokemon popped out and cried softly. It was a ghalia. A pretty pokemon. What luck that it was a dark/psychic pokemon, the ones Kimiko always felt an easier connection to. "Hello, little ghalia. I guess I'm your new trainer. My name is Kimiko. What should I call you? Maybe Deino? No, not Deino. How about Fira? Yeah, Fira works well." Fira hugged her new trainer in thanks and made a happy sound at her new name.

Disturbed by all the noise the other pokemon were creating, another pokemon seemed to have been drawn out of hiding. This one was a Machop, it's blue skin standing out against the forest. He drew forward and flexed his muscles once before pointing at Absol. "Machop!"

A Wild Machop (male, level 5) appeared.

"Absol!" Luna answered and stared down the Machop. "Luna is this really necessary?" The Absol nodded and let her know that she had been challenged. Once challenged, this destruction pokemon would not back down. "Alright, just be careful." Kimiko looked between the two pokemon and decided on how this would need to go down. "Be prepared to dodge and try not to get hit. Machop's muscles aren't just for show. Use scratch once you find an opening." Luna responded in the affirmative and this time she waited to be engaged, trying to trip up the Machop's psyche as if saying she was definitely going to win this.

Machop ran at Absol, not caring if it wanted to attempt to attack him or not. He clearly had the advantage here so he wouldn't let some female take him down. Machop neared her and slid on the ground aiming for a low lick only to see her dodge it. Since he was still on the ground from having slid he rolled out of the way of her incoming claws and rolled into a standing position.

Luna seemed to chuckle and went in for a feint and then watched the Machop for its next move. Once the other pokemn came closer, she would take a swipe at it. Mew became interested in the battle and floated just behind Kimiko to watch. A stand still seemed to come over the makeshift battle ground.

Machop took the attack, sliding back a bit but otherwise remaining ok. He even so much as mocked the absol by brushing himself off and smirking. He then readied himself by getting into a stance and glaring harshly at the absol, trying to intimidate her with his leer.

Luna was slightly effected by the leer. She knew this pokemon was bigger than her, if not by size then by age and experience. She was a baby after all. "You can do it, Luna. Just shake it off and do a feint.

Machop went to focus his energy, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath yet leaving himself open for an attack since he didn't believe any harm could come to him. What he was unaware of was the incoming feint attack which this time did actually manage to throw him back some. It seemed to do more damage this time, a critical hit, and he stood up to go in for another low kick.

As the Machop came closer, Luna growled softly before hopping and taking a nice big swipe right at the Machop's face. This girl was a fierce fighter and would take no flack. "Watch for counter attacks, Luna." "Absol!!" Luna howled as she watched her competetor. There was no way that she was going to back down.

Machop felt the scratch as soon as it happened but he wasn't about to give up. He seemed to be pulling out desperate measures now. He ran straight for her again, aiming again at her feet with a low kick. He seemed keen on playing dirty.

Absol growled darkly at the machop as it ran at her once more and tried to trip her with a low kick. She started leaping up and her back legs were hit. It caused her to flip, but she righted herself and launched another feint and then scratch at the other pokemon.

Machop had a limited amount of recovery time and didn't see that he had once again left himself open as he went in for the low kicks. By the time he had felt the scratch on his back he had faceplanted into the ground, only further so when he felt the feint follow up. He started to crawl away, horribly defeated. There was even a small Machop shaped indent in the ground as he moved away from where Luna had plowed him into the ground.

Machop was defeated. Luna gains 5xp. Luna advanced to level 4. Luna learned Leer!

Luna huffed at the Machop as it crawled away. She then turned back to Kimiko and bounded over happily like a happy puppy and nuzzled her trainer's hands. Her Absol was strong, that much was certain. Kimiko started gathering their things and everyone seemed to know what was happening. Everyone but Mew went into their balls. Mew happily sat on Kimi's head or shoulder, taking in the views, esspecially once they got back to the temple.
Toki congratulated her and gave Kimiko a hug. She knew all there was for him to teach.
