The Adventure Goes on (Ashley Rio's Adventure) - Pewter City trials

Onix yawned as he was hit by Pidgey, "Youre not seriously trying a normal and flying type against my rock type are you?" asked Brock in shock, "particuarly one a third of Onix's level, whatever Onix use Rock Tomb," he ordered as Onix flicked rocks up into the air and got them to land around Sky Rider.

Ashley saw this "dive quickly and then out and use tackle on the rocks" he said, Sky rider done this and rammed the rocks at Onix. Ashley then said "Type's don't matter to me and nor does level your pokemon is it's own weakness you see cause though you have power my sky rider has speed" Ashley wasn't only making a point but buying time as the rocks flew at Onix in increasing speeds.

The rocks simply bounced off Onix and landed on the ground, "Yes your Pidgey is quite fast for its level, but it wont be so fast anymore when Onix rains Rock Tomb on it," Brock replied, as Onix flicked all the rocks up in the air in hope of them entombing Pidgey.

Sky Rider simply flew up too getting slightly cocky and used Tackle on the rocks. Unfortunately a few were dodged but one came down trapping his wing It once again kept up the tackle with what it could headbutting and pecking at the rock trying to break it to get it off.

The rocks simply rebounded off Onix, probably doing more damage for Pidgey hitting them then they did to Onix. "Rock Tomb," said Brok, bored so Onix flicked up some rocks into the air and raines them on Sky Rider with his Rock Tomb attack, assuming he was making Sky Rider ever slower.

it pinned down Sky Rider's other wing he was helpless on the ground when Ashley remembered as the challenger he's allowed to perform as many switches as he likes so he took sky rider's pokeball from his belt and held it out "sky rider return" sky rider then returned to his pokeball. Ashley thought for a second knowing Sky riders weakened at the min, Spoink is fairly weakened but not really and Squirtle barely a scratch so Ashley took Spoink's pokeball from his belt leaving Squirtle for last to finish Onix off or so he planned. Spoink Bounced on the spot a few times gaining height before bouncing over onto Onix's tail up his back and on his head then flipped off his head and when upside down firing a Psybeam straight At Onix's head, face this being having roughly a 99% hit rate from the ranging. Ashley smiled and shouted "yeah that's the way we roll man" He then watched the result.

While from that point there was a 99% hit rate, getting to that point wasnt as easy as it sounded as Onix repeatedly shook its body and its head while Spoink wa bouncing up it, so Spoink wasnt really straight in front of onix's face, Onix was looking about ninety degrees in the other direction when Spoink launched the Psybeam, so the Psybeam missed, and Onix slithered back and flung more rocks into the air and used Rock Tomb on Spoink. Brok sighed, "Your attacks are too tricky, as a coordinator you would be good, but you need to practise the mives, not make them up on the spot," he said.

"good thing i'm a trainer and co-ordinator then, so again Spoink" Spoink bounced again but rather than leaping onto Onix like last which he thought they'd think he just bounced on the spot using the rocks to gain height leaping from one to the other and when he reached a little above Onix's Head height Spoink used Psybeam whilst spinning This creating a drill type effect as Spoink came down aiming to hit on top of Onix's Head a bit. "yeah that's how we do it now go!" Ashley shouted encouragingly pointing at Onix.

Brock watche in awe, "Now thats cool," he said as Onix was hit, "Problem is, its a psychic attack so it wasnt that useful, but with Water Gun, now that would be a good coordinator attack," he complimented as Onix was kinda hit by the psychic rays which went in hi direction, before flicking more rocks in the air and launching another Rock Tomb.

Ashley shouted "Smash that rock now!" Spoink just coiled up his spring before launching himself upward's he then headbutted the rock and it smashed but Spoink to a good deal of damage But Spoink was strong willed and shook it off Ashley the shouted "yeah awesome shake it off and now go, charge a Psybeam starting now then when close Launch it at him full power" Spoink then started charging the Psybeam attack before bouncing off of another rock at full speed and whilst at close range he launched the Powerful Psybeam attack. Ashley stood there eyes sparkling in awe as he watched the attack unfold.

"Finally, a properly executed attack," said Brock as Onix was hit by the psychic wave, "Well guess whats happening next," he joked, "I bet you eve woulda thought....ROCK TOMB!" he shouted as Onix flicked more rocks intothe air causing them to entomb Spoink.

Spoink bounced around in circles making himself harder to hit but one rock did hit him and knocked his pearl flying Spoink bounced after it and grabbed it. Once he had grabbed it he turned round to Onix annoyed and angry before fearlessly jumping at Onix and using a Psybeam straight to Onix's head. Ashley watched surprised at Spoink's anger and shouted "if there's one thing you don't mess with it's Spoink's pearl cause now he's annoyed!" He chuckled before watching the attack unfold.

Onix seemed to be hit reasonably by the psybeam, but countered just like he normally did, by flicking rocks into the air with a Rock Tomb attack.

by this time Spoink was fairly used to elegantly using the rocks so he once again leapt up headbutting a rock taking further damage what he shook off again before leaping higher up pushing off the rocks and launching a high powered Psybeam one final time at Onix. Ashley Crossed his fingers as he thought about all the attacks that had hit Onix hoping this would be last but he had a back up plan if it weren't.

(Spoink should faint WAY before Onix, its half Onix's level and Rock Tomb is way stronger than Psywave)

Onix was hit by the Psywave and fellback slightly, but it didnt really do a great deal as he simply flicked some rocks into thale air and made them come down to entomb Spoink.

Ashley kicked his back up plan into action taking Spoink's pokeball from his belt he holds it out "return Spoink" Spoink returned. Ashley then looked to his shoulder and Squirtle before saying "go on buddy let's do this" Squirtle leapt down and ran onto the field and picked up speed before withdrawing into his shell and spinning using bubble launching it straight at Onix.

Onix was worn down by the wate and was now really weak, close to fainting, "Rock Tomb," ordered Brock and Onix flicked some rocks into the air and allowed them to fall on Squirtle, entombing him.

Squirtle was entombed by the rocks but used bubble on them dampening them so the become soft before tackling them so, they broke Squirtle then lunged at Onix Again but weaker and used a powerful bubble attack out of anger. Ashley watched the attack unfold smiling.

Onix fainted. Squirtle gained 4 EXP points. Sky Rider gained 5 EXP points and grew to level 5. Spoink gained 5 EXP points. Brok smiled and returned Onix to his Pokeball, "Nice job," he said, throwing a Boulder Badge to Ashley, "You deserve it, also you can have this too if you like," pulling some money and a TM out of his bag.

Ashley held up his hand but Squirtle leapt through catching it with ease before handing it to Ashley who just smiled and laughed. Ashley then walked over to receive his other rewards also holding out his hand "nice battle i can tell why your a gym leader.... Awesome work dude" he kept his hand outstretched for a handshake.

Brock handed Ashley his $1400 and TM39 Rock Tomb while shaking Ashley' hand, "I can see you competing at the Pokemon League someday," he said, "Keep up the good work, now sorry but I bette get back to repairing the roof," he said, rushing off to his roof repair job.

Ashley saw this and was in no hurry and was actually quite a helpful guy he actually enjoyed helping people so, he decided to follow Brock and he called after him "need a hand?!" he continued to chase after Brock, Squirtle running behind as fast as his small stubby legs could carry him.

"Its okay," smiled Brock then thought for a bit, "maybe this kid isnt so annoying," he thought then an idea hit him, "Actually it would be nice if you could spare 15 minutes of your time. See Im working on an animated GYM sign and I need someone to help connect the wires," he explained.

"ok sure i'm quite good with electrical's i'm quite an acrobat actually he carefully walked along the roof down to the sign before sitting and hanging backwards over the edge he swung his body round to face the wiring and called up "ah i see now one sec" he adjusted some wires put them into the right slots and closed up the sign's front before flicking the switch. The sign came on and Ashley hauled himself up before saying "there you go anything else?" he said this whilst looking around.

Brock was too stunned to speak, "How did you, uh, the...circut wasnt even plugged in," he said, before opening a fuse box and sure enough the circut was unplugged, but a wierd purple spark was running through the cables allowing the circut to stay completed. "Any idea what this is?" Brok asked.
