On a Mission

Shinx scrambled down after the two kids and ran up to Mark. "Sshhiinnxx..." Shinx sighed. Mark starred up at the trainer. "We're going to have to battle him," Mark said. "If we can defeat him, maybe we can get him to talk." He turned to Gus. "His Pokemon seem strong, so we need to get every advantage we can find. Do you know anything else about him? Pokemon, strategy, anything that can help."

Gus shrugged, "You could go type advantages, your Shinx there, I dont know how you got it in Kanto, but from the books I read about Sinnoh, its an electric-type, correct?" Then without waiting to continue said, "Electric is normally good on water, as his Squirtle is Water-type, use the advantage wisely." He said, before Tom walked up behinf him, "I would train before sunset," he suggested.

Mark nodded. "Alright then, lets train." Mark looked around at everyone. "Who's first?"

A wild Ratatta started running around Mark's feet before leaping up on him, tryibg to take him to the ground, "Raaaaatata!" it growled(lv3 female)

"Hey, Ouch! Get off!" Mark struggled with the Ratatta before finaly pulling it off of him. "Well that was a nice hello." Mark reached to his belt and grabbed Pidgey's ball. "You need the training, so come on out Pidgey!" There was a flash of red, and then Pidgey quietly fluttered to the ground. "Pidgey!" It chirped.

Ratatta sprinted up to Pidgey and tried to Tackle it, while the others dispersed around, doing their own training.

"Pidgey, dodge it!" Pidgey flapped its wings and became airborne. It kicked up a small cloud of dust as it rose into the air "Now dive in and use tackle." Pidgey made a hard turn towards the Rattata and dived at it.

Ratatta notice the Pidgey diving it and decided it needed to react quickly, so ran in the direction o it and jumpe up, trying to Tackle it down tothe ground itself, causing a collision and a test to see which Tackle was stronger, a dive bomb flying Tackle by a stronge pokemon or a quickly made upward Tackle by a weaker pokemon?

Pidgey smacked into the Ratatta and skidded across the ground. It quickly pulled itself up and shook of the dust. "Quick, go in and tackle again." Pidgey ran towards the Ratatta, flapping its wings to build up speed.

Ratatta was struck hard by the Tackle, too surprised by the earlier atacks and landed into a tree. Having almost fainted, Ratatta stood up and stared at Pidgey, then went in to half heartedly Tackle it.

Pidgey ran into the Ratatta again. After that hit Pidgey hopped back a bit. "Lets see what happens now." Mark said.

Ratatta fainted, Pidgey gaine 3 EXP oints.. Gus walked up behind Marl, "Good ypu just beat a Pokemon," he said before walking off in th othe direction.

"Thanks." Mark says. He moves the Ratatta into the bushes where it will be safe from other Pokemon. "Hey Pidgey, want to keep training." "Piiigiii!!" Pidgey fluffed up his feathers, trying to look tough, though he was obviously tiered. "Hold on a sec..." Mark reached into his bag and pulled out a potion. Not wanting to walk back to the Pokemon center, this was the best alternative. Mark sprayed Pidgey, who seamed to dislike it, but took it anyway. "There, that should do it." As he was taking care of Pidgey,_____.

A Caterpie and a Weedle both landed on Mark's and Pidgey's heads respectively, due to their tree being rustled by the Ratatta being slamme into it during the battle. They didnt know what happened, but only saw Pidgey and mark so they used String Shot and Poison Sting respectively, aiming for the target that they landed on. They were both level 3 female.

Pidgey was startled by the Weedle and jump away before it could sting. Mark, on the other hand, got a head full of silk. He shook the Caterpie off his head. "Two pokemon at once. Cool! Hey Shinx," Shinx looked over from where he was sleeping."Come over here. We got ourselves a battle. "SHINX!" Shinx quickly ran over and stopped besides Pidgey.

Caterpie was aiming its String Shot at Mark when Shinx ran into the field, so decided to redorect its target to Shinx and let out a white, sticky web of string out at him. Weedle, on the other hand, continued atacking its orginal target, so charged up to Pidgey and used Poison Sting.

"Look out guys!" Mark called. Pidgey saw Weedle coming and flew up into the air. Shinx on the other hand got caught in the sticky web, making it hard for him to move. "Pidgey, fly in on Weedle and use tackle. Shinx, work yourself out of the web, but keep an eye on Caterpie."

Weedle was knocked down by Pidgey and rolled down. It weakly got up and randomly aimed its Poison Sting tail at pidgey and missed, only to fin that caterpie had just jumped ove head her and charged at Pidgey with a Tackle of her own on her friend's attacker.

Pidgey was caught off guarded and fell to the ground. Meanwhile, Shinx had managed to get off enough of the silk to move normally. "Great, you free Shinx. Use Thunder Fang on Caterpie! Pidgey, tackle Weedle again!" Both Pokemon then charged at their opponents. Pidgey glided over the ground, while Shinx went to grab Caterpie.

Caterpie was caught off guard by the sudden movability of Shinx and was knocke away straight into Weedle, who ha just been thrown ten meters due to a hard tackle by Pidgey. Caterpie was still filled with negative electric charges so when it touched Weedle, Weedle got an electric shock too. They were both getting weak now, so saw no alternative but to get up and aim a poison Sting at their respective attackers.

"Lets have some fun! Pidgey, Shinx, switch targets and tackle." Shinx dashed as if going for Caterpie, then suddenly turned towards Weedle, trying to catch it off guard, while Pidgey did the same for Caterpie.

Both the pokemon were hit harf by Pidgey and Shinx's attacks and fainted. Pidgey and Shinx gained 3 EXP points each! The treehouse trainer watched the entire battle from his treehouse, "Not bad, but to defeat me he will have to do a lot more," he chuckled, with Squirtle sitting beside him.

Mark glared at him, then went to see how the others were doing.

However, a wild Metapod droppe down on Shinx and started pushing him, as if to start a fight, pushing with the ends of the cocoon. It was a level 6 male Metapod. Gus ran up and starte watching the battle.
