The Ghost's Arrival

A cargo ship headed towards Cianwood City across the Deep Blue Ocean, just like it did every month, it carried items for the Poke Marts in Cianwood and Olivine, and all the medicines required for the Cianwood Pharmacy. It was a twenty metre long boat, painted red with 'CIANWOOD MART' printed on it in black letters. There was normally only one person on the boat, who was the captain, but this time, there was an uninvited guest.

His name was Phillip Woodman, but, since his death, he had taken the name Ghal. He had been attampting to follow the Moon & Sun Warriors to Hoenn, but got caught on the wrong boat, and next thing he knew, he was on his way to Johto.

Ghal snuck off the boat and attempted to stop civillians seeing him, that wouldn't end well, one look at his vile, black body would prove that. He knew only one resident in this town who could help him, and that was the Gym leader, Chuck. Ghal silently slipped toward the Gym and silently openned the door, checking the Gym was empty.

Hey, there! You can't just say I'm not here after a peek!." Says a voice.

Ghal didnt understand who it was, "I am after Chuck, I want to see no challenger or junior trainer, just Chuck." Ghal heard a waterfall poinding from inside the Gym. Ghal had heard that Chuck sits under that waterfall all day long to get stronger.

Ghal eventually got sick of waiting and peeped inside the Gym again, and thabkfully saw only Chuck sitting under his waterfall at first glance. Ghal thought about going in, then got a better idea. He reached into his bag and pulled out a Poke Ball. He threw it onto the ground and with a beam of red light, out came his Charmander.

Charmander happily and eagerly jumped up to Ghal's shoulder, 'If only I could still be happy' thought Ghal and whispered to Charmander, "See that man under the waterfall, tap him on the shoulder and tell him to come out here." Charmander obediently looked and saw Chuck, and was immediately scared, as Chuck was an imposing figure. Funny though, Ghal looked like his flesh had peeled off and didnt scare Charmander at all.

Eventually, Charmander mustered up the courage to creep through the Gym and tap Chuck on the shoulder.
