Zach and The Z-Force

Zach is on his way to Jublife. It has been almost an hour since he left Sandgem town. As he walks continously, looking at his Pokeball containing his Piplup, Ferdinand, he hopes he can get to town soon. It's almost sunset. He's getting Hungry. But he's also interested in when he would battle a trainer, or would catch his first Pokemon. Then, as if he thought to soon, he sees someone in the Grass. Another Trainer! And he's looking for Pokemon, but wants a battle...

The trainer seemed to notice Zach as well, and walked toward him. With a friendly smile, he walked toward Zach, and stopped when he reached him. "Would you like to battle me?" the trainer asked, gripping a single Pokeball in his hand.

Zach was ready for more Action. He smiled.

Zach: You Betcha. The Name's Swasta. Zach Swasta.

He griped Ferdinand's Pokeball.

"Sweet!" The trainer said, throwing his Pokeball into the air, and watching as it grew in size, and allowed the excited inhabitant to exit. "My Kricketune can pack a punch!" the trainer said excitedly, and with his Pokemon standing in front of him, awaited Zach to send out his.

Zach flips around his hat, then throws his Pokeball.

Zach: FERDINAND, GO!

Ferdinand the Piplup is released.

Ferdinand: Piplup!

Zach: Your move, Stranger.

"OK! It's on!" the trainer said, almost a little too enthusiastic. "Kricketune, use growl!" he commanded, and his Kricketune let out a savage growl, attempting to lower the Piplup's attack.

While Ferdinand's Attack is lowered by a couple, It is more annoyed by the Growl.

Ferdinand: *Angrly* Piplup!

Zach: Ferdinand, use Bubble!

Ferdinand uses Bubble

As the bubbles flew towards Kricketune, the trainer tensed, and at the last second said, "Tuney, dodge!" The Pokemon attempted, but with the late command, was not able to do so fully. With grunt, some of the bubbles hit, and Kricketune took damage. "Use Bug Bite!" the trainer commanded, and Kricketune rushed toward Piplup, trying to get a hit.

Zach: Ferdinand, Dodge and Use Bubble!

The Piplup just barely jumped and dodged before he could take any damage. Then with the shout of

Ferdinand: Pip-LUUUUUUPP!

More Bubbles fly to the Krickitune.

The Kricketune was ready this time, and without needing a command from his trainer, quickly and effortlessly dodged out of the way of the bubbles. Then he looked to his trainer for further instructions. "Use Bide!" the trainer said, and the Kricketune stood in front of Piplup, not moving, and an easy target.

Zach knew what Bide was.

Zach: Oh no! Ferd, Bubble, Again!

The Kricketune took the attack, not attempting to dodge, or do anything to lessen the damage. He did not attempt to attack Ferdinand either. He was still an easy target.

Zach: Ferdinand, It's storing Energy. It will unleash it soon! Use...er, Pound!

Ferdinand chargess full force at Kricketune.

Ferdinand uses Pound.

Like before, the Kricketune made no attempt to dodge or attack the Piplup, but instead took the attack at full force. With the pound, however, the Pokemon seemed to show major signs of fatigue, and he closed his eyes in pain.

"Now!" his trainer called, pointing at Ferdinand, "It's time to end this!"

Kricketune gave a slight nod, then gained a sort of reddish haze as he concentrated on the stored energy, ready to release it. With deadly precision and accuracy, he rushed at Ferdinand, releasing energy in an attack that would probably damage the poor Piplup greatly if it hit.

The Kricketune is charging. With the Piplup still, and Scared, his Trainer Angry Eyed, muttering words he would NOT say to his mother, watching and waiting.

Zach: Alright Piplup...DODGE AND USE BUBBLE!!!

Ferdinand dodged at the last minute, but the Bide hit half of him, causing half damage. He looked weak at glanced, but he still shot out Bubbles at that Bug.

The Kricketune was ready and back in action, although definitely weak from taking damage while he was storing energy, he was able enough to barely jump out of the way of the oncoming bubbles, and to add insult to injury, he seemed to be cheerily laughing the whole time as well.

"OK Kricketune!" the trainer called, "Go at him with a Cut attack!"

Obeying his trainer, the Kricketune, as best as he could, ran at Ferdinand and slashed his dangerous blade-like arms to attack.

Zach: Man, this is taking...Ferdinand, Bubble!

Ferdinand flies back and takes only minor damage, and coughs more bubbles.

The Bubble attack was just strong enough to finish off the helpless Kricketune. The bug slumped to the ground, and lied there unconscious, very much to the disappointment of his trainer.

The trainer held up a Pokeball, and with a "Good job," returned Kricketune to it. "That was a good battle," he said to Zach, handing him $100, then heading tin the direction of the nearest Pokemon Center.

(Zach received $100! Ferdinand gained 8 exp!)

Zach was Thrilled. He glanced at the money, and-

Zach: Wow, I didn't know you get paid for this!

He stared at his Piplup, who looks very tired.

Zach: That'll do, Ferd.

Ferdinand: Pip?

Zach: *Smililing* That'll do.

Zach puts Ferdinand back in his ball. Then he starts back to the Path to Jubilife City. He feels happy. In just one day, he had recieved a Pokemon (Whom he bonded with), Defeated a Wild one in Battle, and Defeated a Trainer in Battle. How lucky could he get? It's just then, he trips over something.

Zach: What the-

Zach stares in amusement. There's an Item on the ground! Someone must have dropped it...

It was a small stuffed animal, most likely dropped by a forgetful child. It had signs of wear, signifying that whoever was the owner brought it along with themselves often, and was most likely attached. Also, being at the entrance to Jublife, there was a good chance that the owner of the toy was inside the city.

Zach picks it up, and looks at it.

Zach: Who left THIS here? It must be from Jubilife city. I'll worry about that Later.

Zach throws it in his Backpack, and continues his way. Now he has a Pokemon, fought a Wild one, Won a Trainer Battle, and found an Item on the Ground (a most unusual one), he has one more thing on his mind: Catching a Pokemon. Then, Zach stops when he sees Someone in the Tall grass. As Zach glances, he recongizes the person...it was Dawn! When Zach starts to Appraoch her, she sees him, and runs to him.

Dawn: Zach!

Zach: Hi Dawn!

Dawn: How's your Piplup...er...What do you call him again?

Zach: Ferdinand.

Dawn: Aww, that's an Adorable name!

Zach: Uh...You already said that.

Dawn: I know, but still.

Zach lets Ferdinand out from his Ball.

Ferdinand: Piplup!

Zach: Ferdinand, I think you know Dawn.

Dawn bends over to Ferdinand.

Dawn: Yeah, I worked with him with Prof. Rowen.

She rubs Ferdinand's beak.

Ferdinand: Piplup...

Zach: What are you doing?

Dawn: Pokemon loved being Messaged. Him especially.

Ferdinand: Pip-Lup...

Dawn: Hmm, he looks kind of beaten up.

Zach: Oh yeah, we Battled a Kricketune in a Trainer Battle.

Dawn: Oh, you had your first Trainer Battle? Cool!

She comes back up.

Dawn: My Pokemon's a Chimchar.

She releases a Chimchar from it's ball.

Dawn's Chimchar: Chimchar!

Dawn: It's funny if YOU chose a Chimchar. We would've had the same Pokemon!

Ferdinand walks over to Dawn's Chimchar.

Ferdinand: Piplup?

Dawn's Chimchar: Chimchar!

Ferdinand: Piplup Piplup!

Zach: They sure seem to be getting along.

Dawn: Well they got along in the Lab. So what Pokemon have you caught yet?

Zach: I-er...haven't caught-one yet.

Dawn: Well, it's been only a couple Hours. But you haven't caught ONE?

Zach: I don't even know how.

Dawn: Oh...well then...I'LL show you!

Dawn grabs Zach's hand, and pulls him into the Grass, their Pokemon fallowing.

Dawn: First, you need to FIND a Wild Pokemon...Like that one.

She points at a Wild _____________.

Budew, it seemed to be searching for something in the grass, and would be an easy target for a surprise attack or catch attempt.

Zach: Whoa, is that a...

Zach remembers his Pokedex.

Zach: Aw, I keep forgetting to use it.

Zach gets out his Pokedex.

Zach Scans Budew on Pokedex.

Budew, the bud Pokemon. In the spring, Budew opens the bud on it's head, and releases pollen

Hearing the noise of the Pokedex, the Budew looked up at Zach, and walked slowly toward him, she seemed to be more curious than threatening.

Zach: Whoa.

Zach notices it walking towards him. He takes a giant step back.

Zach: Uh, Dawn...

Dawn: Now here's what you have to do: First, you have to weaken it using your Pokemon. Watch this. [To her Chimchar] Chimchar, use Scratch.

Zach watches as Dawn's Chimchar leaps into the air, and tries to scratch the Budew.
