Kiki Castle

Personality:
Kiki grew up focused and distant from others, and that hasn't changed overmuch in the last few weeks. Regardless of what others believe, however, she is far from cold. She doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve, and she doesn't always ask how your day is going - but you bet she'll charge into a burning building to retrieve a family heirloom from grandma if she thinks she can get out again before the house collapses. She sees providing for and protecting others as her calling, and it's something she takes very seriously. When she was in school, she studied so very diligently so as to prepare herself for her duties.

She really needs to be shown a good, honest fun time.

Deep down, Kiki really does have an adventurous spirit. After all, she didn't dream of becoming a Ranger out of duty when she was little! Seeing wonderous sites - like a great waterfall, or glimpsing a legendary Pokemon in ancient ruins - make her smile and remember.

Battle Style:
Kiki approaches battles - and missions - with a similar mindset. She first analyzes the situation or event, as time allows. She will avoid direct confrontation or contact for as long as she needs to understand her challenge. Then, with the best understanding allowed by the constraints of her perspective, she takes steps to disarm or otherwise pacify her opponent. In to the finish fight, this means disabling the aggressor's ability to attack, breaking its defenses, and then delivering a decisive blow.

Past Experience / History:
Kiki lived with her parents in Jubilife City in a large apartment on the edge of town when she was very young. She liked living in the city. There was always plenty of action; always bright lights; always something new going on. Though she stayed there only until she was 10, the way the modern cityscape worked to be as "green" as possible has stayed with her as an ideal.

Another thing that remained important to her was the memory of her father's stories. His side of the family was very involved in archaeology and investigating the mythology of the Sinnoh region. That love of mystery and lore was passed on, though buried beneath day to day thoughts, to Kiki.

At the age of 10, Kiki was accepted at the Ranger Academy in Almia. In a world where trainers frequently began their walk-around-the-world adventures at that age, it was not so strange for her to pack a couple of suitcases and spend the next 5 years at the boarding school. She studied diligently, becoming more and more serious as the years passed.

She graduated at 15 with high honors, and was sent to the region of Unova across the sea to shadow a field Ranger for the next year to prepare her for field assignment. She received her starter, a Fennekin which she named Wiz, and was expected to train daily with him to increase their abilities. The Ranger was pleasant, but little seemed to happen at his post in Opelucid City. Apparently, the town legend that there was a great monster that preyed on the city was somewhat exaggerated - at any rate, she never saw or heard any of the often reported strange phenomena.

After a year of service under the Ranger, she was recommended for full operative status. She thanked the Ranger for what she had learned from him about basic protocol and writing real reports on missions and left to begin her journey of patrols & varied Ranger missions throughout the Unova region.

Wiz likes showing off and causing mischief. He's the sort that keeps life interesting by making sure you stay on your toes. When on missions involving rescue or other interactions with the public, he tends to focus on comforting and entertaining children with affection or silly tricks.

Alone with Kiki, he doesn't seem to be overly affectionate yet. They have not had immediate chemistry as teammates. They don't fight, but it's difficult for Wiz to anticipate or understand what she really wants him to be doing.
