Episode Two: The Piemakers & The Promiscuous [Mod]

"I have a good feeling about today, Droi." Jack stated halfheartedly. Droi smiled as Jack took a deep breath in of fresh air, and then coughed heavily into his fist. He shook his head and lit a cigarette. Puff. He turned to Droi and smiled at her curvy figure and imperialistic manner. He nodded towards the Petalburg Forest, where they would be heading for more hands-on training. Droi nodded so Jack knew she understood, and they walked off. There was a silent agreement between the two when they first partnered up when they were children, that there would be little words unless necessary. It allowed for more thoughts and honest emotion.

They arrived at the forest edge where there could easily be heard the buzzing of thousands of bug pokemon within. The leaves moved lightly in the wind and the afternoon sun blared down on the two, still hot and heavy. The training they had done earlier wasn't apparent at all, as they were both rejuvenated and ready to take on the next challenge. "Remember, today's training going smoothly is fundamental to tomorrow's success at the Petalburg Gym." Jack reminded his Lopunny. She nodded and they walked in.

It wasn't long before the Racoon of a man and his pokemon were deep into the forest and trees surrounded them from every side. The cigarette Jack was smoking earlier had long since been stamped out, the trainer afraid that it would repel the pokemon of the area. Droi was on full alert, and was ready when some leaves rustled near by.

From within the bush of many uses, which rustled and gave away whatever form of creature lay within, emerged an eldery lady. She wore a long gown made of fine silk and dyed in fantastic earth-themed colors, her silvery hair tied neatly into a bun that fell backwards from her head. Her face, though old and worn, showed signs of wear and many adventures, and her oddly crisp blue eyes gave off a youthful allure. There were many wrinkles on her face, along with other skin imperfections however, the lady smiled at the lad before her. It was certainly strange for elderly ladies to simply emerge from bushes, more so eldery lady who were pulling carts. Yes, the old lady had turned around and pulled a cart from out of the bush that clearly read fresh-baked pies, and the scent filled the air of the forest swiftly and overwrote what once smelled of dense brush and forest floor. Two Pokemon stood by the cart, a Golurk and a Duskull. They were obviously the elderly woman's Pokemon, and the Golurk was pushing the cart forward. It was obvious now that the cart had been damaged from traveling the dense forest, and the eldery lady scoffed at it and sighed. She turned to the man before her and waved cheerfully. "Hello deary, might I ask a favor of you?", she asked. One could only imagine what her intent was, after all she did mysterious appear from within a bush of many uses.

The lady held out two Pokeballs, tossing one of them in the air to reveal a Lucario. The blue humanoid Pokemon walked swiftly over to the cart. "You fix up the cart if you can my dear Lucario. I shall make my request of this trainer.", she spoke, her voice soft and nonthreatening. Not that there's anything threatening about an old lady anyway. Or is there? Who can tell these days. Anyway, she held up the other Pokeball to the man. "I'm Old Lady Dianne, it would be a pleasure if you would entertain me in a battle while my Pokemon tend to my cart. I'll even give you a free pie for the trouble.", she said, opening the Pokeball to reveal a Chansey. The Chansey seemed happy to be out of its pokeball and seemed ready to battle, just like the elderly lady Dianne.

Jack, watching the old woman intently as she revealed herself from within the bushes, never batted an eyelash. He was quite unmoved, really, by her sudden appearance. He just smiled falsely in her general direction, watching the cart and the pokemon. Droi was observing the other pokemon, still detecting if they were threats yet. If this old woman was something more than her appearance proclaimed to be, then she would definitely be a trouble to fend off against. The Lucario she had called out would be trouble enough without the help of the other three pokemon. They were outnumbered, but in the worst case scenario Droi and Jack would be beaten senseless and left for dead in the forest with nobody around. ah, what the hell?

Jack pushed aside his old self. He figured the suspicions rising in his chest and making his blood pump quicker was just an allusion of his old police work back in his younger days. He smiled more sincerely at the old lady, deciding to push aside the idea that she's a threat. If push came to shove he could easily overpower her anyways. And Droi was nothing short of capable of holding her own in battle as well. It seemed the mature Lopunny was already formulating the same idea. She bowed formally to the old lady and smiled. "Of course we'll accept your challenge." Jack chuckled deeply. Lopunny and Jack made apt room between the elder and her pokemon before Droi was in a fighting stance, ready to battle. "We're ready when you are, of course." Jack called. Droi nodded in agreement, narrowing her eyes at the Chansey and keeping a mindful eye of the others.

Dianne smirked, pleased with the man's response. She stared him down with her eyes, obviously looking him over. But not just him. Her attention also shifted to his Pokemon, the Lopbunny he was partnered with as if she was trying to make an estimate of it's strength and experience with it's trainer. She gave an honest smile. "If I were young and beautiful like I once was, I might have just fallen for those looks of yours.", she said, winking at him. It might've been flirting, it might not have been. No one could truly judge what it was. Perhaps the elderly woman was in fact deranged, which seemed possibly since she broke out into a fit of laughter afterwards. She was obviously enjoying herself at least, which must've been a good thing.

"I'll only use my Chansey. She isn't strong like the others and she could use a good battle to get used to them.", she responded, making it clear she only intended to use her Chansey against the man's Lopbunny. "May we have a great battle we both learn from.", she stated, bowing in respect to the man and his companion before comanding her Chansey. "Chansey, let us open with battle with Defense Curl.", she stated, as Chansey seemed to grow more round and raise her defense. It seemed the old lady was willing to be slow about the battle.

Jack wasn't willing. Jack was ridiculously judgmental of trainers based on their looks. He didn't want to cream this old lady, but at the same time he didn't have time to wait around old day. If this truly was just a simple battle, then Lopunny and him would end it quickly and humbly. "Do your thing, Droi." Jack commanded simply. Droi smirked, nodded lightly, and then used 'Bounce' to launch herself at the Chansey quickly. She skidded to a stop right in front of it, with her arm drawn back, she punched upward to get the Chansey off balance with a 'Sky Uppercut.' The pokemon is very large but Lopunny has a slightly higher level and may be able to lift her with her own strength alone. So she went for it. She didn't plan on failing, but if she did, she was ready to make a move, quick on her toes.

Jack simled. Now he was the one watching the surroundings instead of the battle. It was apparent that the old lady was suspicious, no matter what the case. Or maybe they're just too judgey of people. Ghey would call it "being attentive" but it's just paranoia. Jack watched on. The other pokemon truly were just fixing the pie cart, but what if the pie cart shot lazerbeams when they finished? What if it actually is a ditto and it plans on transforming into a Arceus to finish them off!! Jack shook his head of the thoughts. 'You're being crazy, Raccoon.' He thought, and averted his attention back to the battle.

Dianne smiled brightly as the man commanded his companion to fight with such blunt words. There was no specific command, it seemed that he had faith in the move his Lopbunny would chose. It was an offensive move right from the start for Lopbunny, however Chansey had certain prepared itself for this encounter with it prior Defense Curl having strengthened her defensive form. It seemed the other Pokemon had stopped working on the cart and turned their attention to the battle to watch how it would unfold, each one of them silently placing bets on which side would come out on top. Though no one could possibly understand what they were saying. Though the Duskull and Golurk decided to watch, Lucario continued attending to the damaged cart to fix it so that they could move on after the battle concluded. As Lopbunny moved to connect her attack with Chansey, it was an ever so slight smirk that arose on Dianne's face as Chansey braced herself, raising her arms as the elderly shouted a single command. "Thunder Wave!" It was likely too late for either party to avoid this situation, but it became apparent that it was exactly what the man's opponent had been looking for. Even if Chansey had been knocked back and she had little idea whether or not her Chansey's attack connected.

She waved off as Chansey got up. "Are you all right my dear friend? I'm surprised he went that fast for the attack, I'll be more careful next time around. Now that we've played that card lets switch it up and go on the offensive.", Dianne said, as Lucario turned its attention to the ongoing fight. The Chansey gave a cry of agreement with her trainer and narrowed her glare upon Lopbunny. "Now my friend, use Metronome!", the elderly lady commanded as the Pokemon began to wag its hands back and forth as they began to glow with a bright light. As if by some magic, Chansey unleashed a furious Razor Leaf attack towards Lopbunny.

Oh gods I've been sick today so I've been a little terrible to respond.

Lopunny flinched back, getting caught by the Thunder Wave. She let out a light grown and got back in a fighting position despite the flickering shock waves flashing off her body every few seconds. She would undoubtedly be a couple times slower now, but she was confident she was still faster than the Chansey. They wouldn't be as careless as before seeing as this old woman was an excellent strategist. Jack grunted loud enough for Droi to hear him and crossed his arms. Droi knew that meant he was taking the lead now. She felt concerned that she had let him down for just a moment, but she knew this wasn't the time to be thinking about that. Jack and her would have to make every move count. The paralysis currently electrifying her body was uncomfortable and dangerous.

"Dodge this incoming Razor Leaf with a Bounce," Jack commanded. Droi nodded and narrowed her eyes once more. She jumped into the air above the Razor Leaf, narrowly escaping their sharp, green edges. "Down and out with Quick Attack." Droi smiled, loving this combo they had made up. She dropped down directly at Chansey with what would've been super speed if it wasn't for her current state. A trail of bright white light trailed behind her as she made her decent. The plan was to quickly hit Chansey with 'Quick Attack' before using the speed to escape quickly back to where Jack was. 'Down and out,' essentially.

It was obviously an advantage for Dianne and her Chansey with Lopbunny under the effects of the Thunder Wave, however it had been very clear from the start that Chansey wasn't really a great match since it lacked much of an offensive presence in battle. Nonetheless, Lady Dianne and her Chansey planned to persist against the man and his Pokemon until the end of this fight, regardless of the outcome. It was fun for them to have a battle with someone since they spent their time traveling.

Anyhow, Chansey watched in absolute horror as Lopbunny took off into the air using Bounce. The elderly was impressed by the skills and quick-thinking of the trainer, who then turned the Bounce straight into a Quick Attack against Chansey. She was slower than the Lopbnny, and thus the attack connected. Chansey found herself on her back, unable to get back up.

Droi smirked, as did her trainer, as she waited in front of him, panting lightly. Jack was still aware the battle was far from over. His face dropped back down into a stern frown and he crossed his arms tighter together if that was even possible. "Nice job. Now, let's go for the Ice Beam. Then use Quick Attack." Droi nodded, although she was wincing from the pain and irritation from the buzzing in her bones. She bit her lip and charged up the blue energy. The beam of blue, icy light shot from her mouth and directly at they fallen Chansey only feet away. Droi stumbled for a moment before heading in with the Quick Attack. It would be the only physical close range move she could use for the rest of the battle until the Thunder Wave wore off, considering otherwise she's way too slow. She may be too slow even with the Quick Attack.

Droi charged in nonetheless, once again moving incredibly fast at the hopefully soon-to be frozen Chansey. All the while, Jack has been keeping eye on the other pokemon and their movements. He is beginning to recognize their basic reaction time from the way they react to the battle, their strength, and even their speech patterns. They were quite intriguing, if Jack were to speak honestly, but mainly because their trainer seemed so mystique and all-knowing. Jack shrugged. Again, his old self coming through.

It was a little slow, at least someone on the outside of the battle would've noticed. To assume Chansey was entirely defenseless while on her back was entirely wrong. Defense Curl, of course made her much more rounder in shape. Something Dianne knew full well and was ready to take advantage of as Chansey rolled out of the way, narrowly avoiding the Ice Beam that Lopbunny had been commanded to used against Dianne's Chansey. It was an impressive feat to say the least, but certainly not the icing on the cake. Chansey bounced to her feet and stared at Lopbunny as her fingers began to glow. "Metronome!", Dianne shouted.

To say Dianne was a fool to rely on such a move in the middle of this battle was foolish. Then again, it was a move entirely based around luck and was virtually unpredictable. Chansey might use a move that won't even scratch it's opponent, or it might break lucky and get a powerful move. It was obviously a move unique to a certain Pokemon found outside of the Kanto Region. Chansey stood there, collecting energy from the land and then focused all that power towards Lopbunny. It was none other than the move Land's Wrath, the unique move of the Pokemon Zygarde. Would Lopbunny be fast enough to avoid the attack and hit Chansey? Or will Chansey's lucky attack connect and make this battle turn around in Dianne's favor?

Forgive me. I ran into some internet troubles Thursday night and I spent what time I had gaming while my laptop ran virus scans. I believe I have/had an issue with Google Chrome, in which it was affect by a virus. I have no further knowledge of the situation but I feel it proper to inform you of this hiccup in my activity.As for Friday, I spent 9 hours at school, as is typical for me as a student on that particular day and could not find the time to make any form of contact on the site. After school I was immediantly sent home to my parents which is a 2 hour drive. I came home and gamed with Reta before going to sleep early from exhaustion.

Since I have no idea whether or not my interest is going to be affected further by this, if you wish to you may seek out another staff member to take over moderation of this topic. I have no objects to that since I am the one making the suggestion. I make no promise that I'll be able to post consistently, however within my restrictions I shall do my best.

Jack started to feel a feeling of deep concern swell up in his gut. Before Lopunny could even reach Chansey, it had already used Metronome and luckily performed a destructive and powerful move that would surely put Lopunny in a horrible predicament. "Droi! Quickly! Bounce high above!!" Jack shouted, trying to hide his panic. Droi was so damn slow. She winced in pain as the ground shifted awkwardly under her and she felt her ankle twist slightly, but it wouldn't be too bad. She jumped high into the air, above where the chaos ensued. Jack was trying hard to hold his ground as it shook beneath him and constantly jostled him. He kept his ground, however, and when the earthquake-like attack was done, he crossed his arms again. Small droplets of sweat were forming on his brow now as he realized the predicament the two were in. He sighed loudly as Droi landed back on the ground. "Go on the defensive for now. You're very slow now and I need to be able to formulate a plan," Jack explained. Droi nodded and began her counteractive measures.

Droi began to puff up slightly, as the Chansey did before, using 'Defense Curl' to up her defense stats. She then held out her arms as she began to glow light pink. A box of pink light projected from her body and stayed firmly around her as she completed her 'Magic Coat.' For now she would have to be careful of everything, physical and special attacks.

Dianne seemed pleased, and thus, raised her hand. Chansey seemed to understand what that meant, as she pulled the egg out of her pouch. She ran over to Lopbunny and gave it as a gift. "You're Pokemon fought well, but I can only handle so much with such an old heart. Perhaps if one of my children was here they would've been a much better fight.", she stated, obviously surrendering as she returned Chansey. "I shall provide you with you winnings, after all a battle is a battle.", she stated as Golurk pulled the cart closer to her. Duskull floated close above, and Lucario simply sat on the back of the cart holding a rather lovely flower.

The elderly woman retrived an amount of Pokedollar and two pies. "Here's you money winnings, and these pies were made with Sitris Berries. They'll have a similar effect on your Pokemon as a Sitris Berry. Make sure to put them to good use.", she stated, as she climbed onto the side of the cart. "I think I'll rest here before moving on.", she said as she revealed a 5th Pokeball and released the contents. It was a Numel, obviously inexpereinced like Chansey was. With Numel's help, Lucario started a fire and began preparing tea and even food.
