Looks: 5'4" with pitch black hair. Usually wears blue jacket, light brown pants with respectable pockets, and light blue shoes with lightning bolt designs. Dark brown eyes and a black and red cap with a Poké Ball design, worn backwards with hair sticking out of the front.

Personality: Shaanu has always wanted a Pikachu - he knows almost all there is to know about Pikachu, giving him the nickname "Pikachu Guy". He loves pockets, and occasionally loses something in a pocket an will have to check all of them to find it. When Shaanu is nervous or anxious, he will take out a piece of paper and start folding, usually a Swanna or Pikachu, but the more nervous/anxious he is, it comes out more complicated. Shaanu tries to be optimistic, but it will falter in more dire situations. Hates Pokémon poaching and cruel trainers. Loves his vegetables!
History: As a young child, Shaanu's parents took him to Viridian Forest. While there, he befriended a newly hatched Pichu. They chased each other around, played tag with other Pokémon, and sometimes napped. Of course, Shaanu had to go back to New Bark Town, and the little Pichu had to stay in the forest. Shaanu was sad to leave his new friend, but every year Shaanu's parents would take him back to Viridian to play with his Pichu friend. When Shaanu turned ten, his parents allowed Pichu to come live with them, and the Mouse Pokémon evolved from sheer happiness! The Pikachu, named Pika, has lived with the Marus since, and has gotten them out of several power outages!

Shaanu would have gone on his journey at 10, but his parents thought he was too young. Two years later, they gave in after MUCH pleading from Shaanu (at least it wasn't 4 years!). Pika is going with Shaanu, as he couldn't think of a better Pokémon to travel with than his best friend.
