Journey to the first badge

After a long day of training Lucas's pokemon were ready for a gym match, so he talked to his parents and discovered the had a room in a local inn. By the end of the day Lucas and his pokemon were wrecked and they immediately fell asleep when they hit the bed. The next morning Lucas awoke surprisingly early and he looked around and saw Mudkip and Cubone playing on the floor.
"You guys ready for the big day?" He asked confidently. He thought about reconsidering and he gulped with worry. He reassured himself and he scooped up his pokemon and ran to the gym. Once there he knocked on the door and he walked in.

Roxanne was in. "Are you a challenger?" She asked, looking around.

"Yes" Lucas replied simply and his two pokemon appeared from behind him prepared for battle.

"I see. Well, I am Roxanne, the Rustboro Pokémon Gym Leader. I became a Gym Leader so that I may apply what I learned at the Pokémon Trainer's School in battle. Would you kindly demonstrate how you battle, and with which Pokémon?" With a light bow, her Geodude and Nosepass exploded from their pokeballs. "After you."

"I will use my Cubone and Mudkip." He says as they step forward. Cubone walked forward and went in a battle stance and said
"Cubone" as he armed himself with his bone.
"Cubone run up to geodude and ram him with a Headbutt." Once it was spoken Cubone began to run forward with his head down.

"I see. Geodude, dodge and Rock Throw!" Geodude quickly rolled aside, gained it's feet (?) and gave a roar, sending rocks tumbling at Cubone. Nosepass scrambled towards the Mudkip with a Tackle.

Perfect this is just what I trained them for Lucas thought.
"Do what we trained Cubone and blast Nosepass back with a Watergun, Mudkip." Cubne duck and weaved through the small rocks and shattered larger ones with Bone Clubs till he freed himself. Mudkip did as it was told and shot a Watergun at the approaching Nosepass.
"Cubone counter with a Bone Club." Thus Cubone approached geodude and jumped to hit him to the the ground.

Nosepass braved the waters as it skidded away and used Rock Tomb, as Geodude dodged the Bone Club, mirroring Nosepass with a double Rock Tomb.

"Switch sides and do what we trained , Mudkip." Cubone squared up with the Nosepass and took the brunt of the Rock Tomb even after deflecting a few rocks. Mudkip ran out of the storm and slid under Geodude and shot a Watergun from beneath him. After the pumbling of rocks Cubone recovered and ran forward with a Bone Club.

Geodude was struck and roared with pain, striking out with it's fist at close range as the Mudkip slid from below. Nosepass rammed forward with it's Tackle, matching strength as it pushed forward against the Bone Club.

Mudkip returned to his normal stance and released another Watergun at geodude and used a Growl to try to get Nosspass's attention. Cubone then tried again with a Bone Club to Nosepass.

Geodude slammed a fist in the ground, throwing up rocks and dust. Using Sand Attack and Rock Throw, it ignored the growl as Nosepass used Tackle at the Bone Club again.

Mudkip decided to shift its focus and it shot a Watergun at Nosspass, hut got hit with the Rock Throw and Cubone kept using Bone Club waiting for him to make a mistake.

Unfortunately the mistake didn't come. Roxanne had her pokemon finely tuned and better adjusted than most. Nosepass blocked and attacked, both together, with another Tackle, feeling virtually nothing on it's rock hard skin as Geodude was left alone and used another Rock Tomb at Mudkip.

Once aware Water gun wouldn't do anthing Mudkip returned to Geodude dodged through a few of the rocks and got hit by a barrage and countered with Avalanche. Meanwhile Cubone rolled to the side and used Flamethrower on the Avalanche to make it melt into water. Cubone then spun around and used another Bone Club to block Nosspass' s next attack.

Geodude was pretty much trapped in a downpour. Since the brunt of the Avalanche was melted, it wasn't knocked out, but held on. Then Nosepass and Geodude joined up into a double Tackle, which could do a considerable amount of damage to Mudkip.

Cubone jumped infront of his friend and blocked with his bone and got blasted back, highly wounded hanging on. Mudkip jumped up a shot a Watergun at the two enemies.

Nosepass and Geodude parted, jumping on each side, avoiding the Water Gun before Geodude started slamming it's fists into the ground, throwing up rocks while Nosepass kicked them towards the duo, using a spectacular display of teamwork in using Rock Throw.

Cubone got up and hit the rocks with his bone thus deflecting them. The team did their combo again by Mudkip using Avalanche and Cubone using Flamethrower on the barrage and melting it causing a rainstorm falling above the opposing duo.

Apparently the combo was not so good as both rhe pokemon were caught in it but escaped with.minimal minor damages and used a double Rock Tomb.

They both tried to deflect some of the rocks, but were inevitably hit, but not taken out yet. To counter they both tried to surround the Geodude and they used Mud Slap and Bone Club on him.

Geodude was backed up by Nosepass who seemed to refuse to abandon it's comrade. Taking on the attacks itself, Nosepass flinched but used another double Rock Tomb.

Mudkip used Watergun on the rocks to try to break some and the damage taken was reduced. Mudkip returned to Geodude with another Watergun and Cubone used Bone Club again trying to corner Geodude.

Geodude crossed his arms and took the brunt of the attack on them, leaving it with minimal damage but nonetheless weak. Shaking off the creeping feeling of defeat, it used another Rock Tomb partnered by Nosepass, having successfully dodged the Water Gun.

Cubone does a low Bone club to try to avoid Geodude's guarding and be is wounded by the Rock Tomb. Mudkip meanwhile turns around and runs at Nosepass to shoot a more accurate Water Gun. He shoots a orb of water at Nosepass awaiting to see how he will respond.
