Mamoru Masaru

Momoru Masaru is often underestimated by people who do not know him well. His ridiculous eye mask that he is always found wearing, even when he is sleeping, makes him look extremely pathetic to some people. However, he is most definitely capable of exceeding most expectations. Being as stubborn as he is, he does lots of things and pushes really hard to get whatever he wants, be it a gym badge or a cookie. Along with his annoying stubbornness came his even more annoying impatience. He could never sit still in one spot. He just had to keep moving, venturing into the unknown seeking nothing but a thrilling ride. He was always intrigued by the things around him and as most children do, he regularly lets his curiosity guide him. Unfortunately, he has the kind of curiosity that gets him into trouble and thus it was not uncommon for him to receive the reputation of a hooligan wherever he showed up, even if he stayed there for any more than a day. When paired up with others or in a whole group, he would usually attempt to lead the group but even if he fails, he ends up doing some mischief or the other and get him and usually everyone with him into trouble. When he gets people into trouble, he gets all sensitive. He gets even more annoying by acting like a superhero, failing terribly at most times as he often got carried away. He would make leaps from places believing he could fly, once he got into this "mode' of his. Due to his extremely irritating behavior, even ascetics fail to describe him without the use of swear words. Towards his Pokémon, Masaru is considerate in his own way. He asks them for their opinions on things. There was only one problem, he didn't speak their language and didn't really understand what they were trying to say, either. He pretends he knows what his Pokémon want, using his so-called made up "super powers". He always ends up doing what he wanted to do in the first place, even after asking his Pokémon as he just blindly assumes that his Pokémon wanted to do the same thing, while on most if not all occasions, they most certainly don't. Nevertheless, he cares for his minions deeply and treats them right. In return, he is often showered by love from his Pokémon. That doesn't change that they find him annoying as well. In Pokémon battles, Masaru rarely makes silly mistakes and is well-informed about the Pokémon types and their weaknesses and resistances, and to an extent aware of the common abilities found.

Masaru was born to a somewhat wealthy family in Vermillion City. His father's name was Momoru Momoru. The man was an unsuccessful trainer who beat all the gyms in the region Kanto and also Johto in his time. However, he failed miserably at the Pokémon League. The man was depressed and he quit competitive Pokémon battling. Masaru's mother, the only one in the family whose name does not start with an 'M', Momoru Aoi was a co-ordinator who rocked each stdium she visited (in Hoenn where she departed to) until she flopped big time one day and embarrassed herself on national television. The two events broke both of them who were both residents of Vermillion City. The two returned to their home city and met each other later and shared their stories. The two encouraged each other to try again. Momoru was unable to beat the Pokémon league but in his process trying he made lots of prize money. Aoi was not that successful in her second run either, but still saved enough money that, when put together could take care of a family. The two had a total of three children; Masaru the youngest, Mamoru who was two years elder than him, and Misora who was three years elder than Mamoru. Yes, Misora is a girl. Mamoru took competitive Pokémon battling seriously, and ventured out to the world at an early age. He is still on his quest to beat all the gyms and the league and become champion. Misora ventured way before Masaru was born, she was very successful and many people saw in her eyes a potential champion. She had no intention of beating all the leagues, and she only fought for the thrill. This disappointed mnay people who expected her to be the greatest trainer of all time. The girl traveled the whole world, or, most of it, in her few years as a Pokemon trainer. However, Masaru arrived and Mamoru ventured off and the parents called Misora back home to help them take care of baby Masaru. Years passed by and baby Masaru was no longer that much of a baby. However, a part of him had an unhealthy obsession with superheroes. Nevertheless, he no longer was a baby and he could start raising Pokémon now. His sister who was quite powerful, decided that she had nothing much to prove to the world and made up her mind to gift her brother his first Pokémon. For his seventh birthday he received a present from her sister, a male Nidoran, the offspring of her own Nidoking and Aggron, the ones  she raised from a Nidoran and Aron respectively herself. He was not given a trainer card and was not allowed to fight wild Pokémon. He was tested, they had to find out whether he was capable of raising the magical creatures or not. The boy made a great friend in his Nidoran and after a few years, his parents let him set out for his journey after getting him a trainer card. Misora considered continuing her journey but chose not to, for "reasons you [Masarru] wouldn't understand". Few weeks passed by and the young boy already evolved the Nidoran into a Nidorino, and caught two other pokemon,
