Walking Down The Street(Open to all)

Matt Credious, with Shade, his faithful Umbreon companion at his side, walked down the street, incredibly bored. They hadn't gotten any leads of team Plasma yet, so there was nothing to do but walk around the city, and hope to find a random pokemon, or even a trainer to battle.

Not too far away was a wild Pansear, who looked about just as bored as Matt did. He didn't pay any mind to he trainer, leading to a varirlety of things that could be done. It was up to Matt's best judgement on how to proceed with the Pokemon.

Pansear, Male, Level 10

Matt paused, and saw, lo and behold, a Pansear. Matt was interested in catching a fire type monkey, but not one like this. He would prefer a different money, a Chimchar, the agile fire and fighting pokemon. But, either way, there still was a perfectly good Pansear there, perfectly good for leveling Shade up.
Matt looked down and into his Pokemon's eyes, and raised an eyebrow, as if to say, "You wanna do this?"
Shade nodded, and looked ahead to the Pansear.
Matt looked up and cried, "Shade, use Shadow Ball!"
"Umbre!" With a cry, Shade opened it's mouth and formed a ball of shadows, and launched it at the un-suspecting Pansear.

Pansear ears twitched when he heard the Umbreon's call, but didn't think that it signified an attack. The dark mass was a direct hit, and he was sent sprawling forward with a startling cry. "Sear!" he exclaimed, jumping to his feet and glaring at his attacker. Glowing flames formed in his mouth, and without a moment's hesitation, they launched at Shade, an Incinerate attack.

Shade cried "Umbre!" In surprise that a pokemon could recover to fast.
"Shade, use Shadow ball again!"
Shade obliged, and fired another shadow ball. The attack absorbed the blow of incinerate, albiet lessening the attack's own power, and continued hurtling towards the Pansear.

Pansear snarled when he saw his ineffective attack, but it gave him an idea. As the Shadow Ball flew at him, more fire formed in his mouth, and he launched it at the dark mass, causing it to halt and diminish. Gaining confidence now, the monkey made a laughing noise, and launched more fire, this time aimed at Shade. He was becoming cocky, but maybe a bit too cocky...

"Umbre!!!" Shade took the attack, and groaned in pain. But still, it could take it and a least a few more to come.
Matt began thinking rapidly. The fight couldn't keep going like this, the monkey was learning. Of course, this was a trait he liked in a pokemon. Maybe if it proved itself even better, he would in fact add it to his team. But for now...
"Shade, use fake tears, but try getting a little closer."
The Umbreon nodded, and as fake tears streamed from it's eyes, it sprinted towards the Pansear.

Pansear looked appalled at Umbreon, mistaking the tears for the real thing, and thus, taking the effect they brought. He didn't seem to notice Umbreon's slow advance, and was slightly confused as to how he would proceed. Being honorable enough to attack a Pokemon he believed was upset, he made the mistake of hesitating.

"Now Umbreon, hit it with tackle!"
Matt shouted. But, he was slowly becoming unsure of knocking the thing out. It seemed to be honorable enough not to attack an upset pokemon, and intelligent enough to learn from it's opponent.
Umbreon stopped crying within three feet of Pansear, and with what appeared to be a wicked grin on it's face, tackled the wild pokemon.

"Pan!" Pansear exclaimed in surprise, taking the hit full on, leading to a critical hit. He landed on his back and cried out in startled pain, and for once, took a few moments to get to his feet. He was growing fatigued, and the rushed heaving of his chest, and gleam of sweat on his brow showed that he was nearly down for the count. By any other observation, he was hiding his weakness well, not wanting Matt to see just how weakened he had become. Baring his teeth, he again formed flames into his mouth, and launched another Incinerate at Umbreon.

((OOC: I had a brain fart last post. Called it Umbreon instead of shade. *Derp*.))
"It shows endurance as well. Despite everything Shades's thrown at it, it still takes it. Maybe it will make a good addition to the team!"
As Matt was thinking this, Shade took a point-blank Incineration, resulting in a critical hit.
"BREON!" It cried, staggering back.
"Shade, fall back!" Matt shouted, as he pulled out an empty pokeball.
As Matt's companion retreated behind it's him, Matt lobbed the pokeball at the Pansear.

The Pokeball his Pansear squarely in the chest. It shook once, twice, and a final third time before halting. Pansear had been caught.

Pansear was caught! Would you like to give him a nickname?

Things were quiet for a second. Umbreon trotted out, and picked up the pokeball with it's mouth.
It dashed back to Matt, and dropped the pokeball into his waiting hand.
Matt lifted the pokeball up, closer to his eyes as he patted Umbreons head.
"Lets see...You have honor, intelligence, and fierce determination...I think I'll call you Samurai!"

"Nice catch," a voice said from behind Matt, "I always appreciate watching such fierce battles." The source of the voice was an intelligent looking teen, who seemed to fit in perfectly with the buisness-like quality of Castelia. "Speaking of which, if I heal your Pokemon, would you like to battle?"

Matt almost smiled. This day was turning out well.
He turned around, to see a intelligent-looking person(OOC:Would say more, but that's all you've given me to go off of.)
"Definitely." Matt answered.

((It's fine, next time I'll give you more of a description of the NPC ^^))

"Good," he replied before tossing two Full Restores to Matt. "I have two Pokemon and you have two, so it's fair. And since I asked for the battle, it's courtesy for me to allow you the first move. But first, here's your first foe!" The teen tossed a Pokeball into the air, and in a burst of red light, a Magnemite appeared, hovering in front of its trainer.

Magnemite, No Gender, Level 10

Matt used the full restores, and observed the Magnemite quietly.
He made a decision to use his newly caught Samurai, it's fire typing would be of use against this Magnemite.
"Shade, you hang back for this one."
Shade nodded, and fell back behind Matt.
"Go, Samurai!" Matt cried.
His pokeball flew up into the air, and in a flash of red light, Pansear was out and ready to fight.
"Use incinerate!" Matt shouted.
Unfortunately for Matt, Samurai was incredibly bewildered. One moment, he had been many meters to the left, battling an Umbreon, then a ball hit him in the chest. Now he was here, feeling much better than he had after being assaulted by many a shadowball, however, being commanded by the human who had just been fighting him.

Magnemite, who wasn't nearly as honorable as Samurai, leaped into action without word from his trainer, who didn't say a thing to stop it. While Samurai stood dazed, a charge of electricity built around the magnets at Magnemite's sides then launched at Samurai, flashing with an electrical energy and light. It was a ThunderShock.

"Samurai, dodge it!"
But the Pansear, still very confused, took the blast full force.
"Sear!" It cried out. After twitching once, it bent it's knees and prepared for action. As of yet, this human appeared to be giving him commands for his well-being and victory. A useful ally, certainly, and a good commander to follow.
Matt noticed a sort of change in Pansear's demeanor, as if ready to follow orders now. Good.
"Samurai, use incinerate!"
Samurai, with a shout of "PAN!!!", formed fire in it's mouth, and blasted it out towards the Magnemite in the form of the attack Incinerate.

Magnemite tried unsuccessfully to zoom out of the way of the incoming blaze, but it proved too much for him to attempt. The flames wreaked massive havoc to the Pokemon, and it seemed to shudder from the damage.

"Hmmm," the trainer said, "Nice choice in move. But don't get too carried away, Magnemite, Supersonic!"

His Pokemon regained its composure, while creating a very high-pitched noise meant to daze and startle a Pokemon, causing confusion, and on the occasion, hallucinations.

Samurai stumbled backward a bit, in surprise and suffered the effects of the move,becoming slightly dazed.
"Samurai, get closer to it and use incinerate again!"
As Samurai sprinted forward, shaking off it's confusion, charging up it's attack it briefly pondered it's trainers strategy."Why make me get so close?" It wondered. But, as it leapt up, directly in front of the Magnemite, and unleashed it's attack, it thought "Ah, a point blank attack should deal more damage."

And deal more damage it did. Magnemite let out a screech as the flames almost completely brought him down. He was now struggling to stay afloat in the air. However, a cornered and weak foe was a dangerous one indeed. Without any need for a prompt from its trainer, Magnemite formed another surge of electricity, and launched it at Samurai while he was still close. Two could use distance to their advantage.

"Use incinerate again!" Matt had cried a literal split-second before the Magnemite used it's attack.
The attack absorbed some damage from the attack,but not much,, and continued on towards magnemite.
The bulk of the blow slammed into Pansear's face, sending the pokemon flying backwards, and in bad condition. It staggered weakly to it's feet, unwilling to show weakness.

The flames hit Magnemite once more, and the Pokemon was down for the count, falling from the air and slamming into the ground. With a flash of red, the Pokemon was returned to its trainer, who seemed lost in though.

Samurai gained 10 exp! Samurai grew to level 11!

"You're a pretty good team, such chemistry, even if you've just joined forces. Regardless, I won't make it easy to beat me," the trainer said, taking out his final Pokeball and releasing the Sandshrew from within.

"Shrew!" the Pokemon cried, but waited, giving Matt the opportunity to switch his own Pokemon.

Sandshrew, Female, Level 12

Matt looked to Samurai and then to the Sandshrew. Not a good type match up, and Samurai was pretty beaten up already.
"Samurai, come back. Shade, you take a turn."
The Pansear ran back to Matt, and leapt upon his shoulder, now fairly trusting of this human.
Shade trotted out to the field and stopped a good five meters from it's opponent.
"Shade, use Shadow Ball!"
"Breon!" Shade cried, as it fired off a shadow ball attack to start off the fight.
