Exploring a New Land(Open)

Julia walked along with Tuck, looking around. She drummed her hand on her thigh as they went along, searching for wild Pokemon to catch. She strolled along, bored out of her mind, tossing a Pokeball up and down in the hand that wasn't tapping out a beat. Tuck was itching for a battle, having not had a good one in a long time. Julia patted the Machop's head. "We'll find something soon enough."

Matt Credious walked down the street, with his Umbreon, Shade in tow, and his newly caught Pansear, Samurai on his shoulder.
As he walked, he spotted a trainer, a young girl with a Machop(OOC: *cough cough* Julia *cough cough*)
"Hey!"
Matt shouted out to her.
"You up for a battle?"

Julia glanced at Matt, then grinned when she heard him ask for a battle. "Sure! You up for it Tuck?" She asked her Machop. He nodded. "Chop!"

"Alright then." Matt said, "Samurai, I'm putting you in for this one. Shade, I'm sorry, but you're weak to that Machop's type.
"Pan." Samurai said, as it jumped off Matt's shoulder and landed in the battle field. It bowed deeply, to show respect, and came back up, and adjusted to a fighting stance. It would let Machop have the first move.

Tuck walked onto the field and grinned. "Alright Tuck! Rush 'im, then get in a Low Kick!" Julia commanded. "Machop!" Tuck yelled, running toward Samurai then sliding into a Low Kick.

"Samurai, jump up and use incinerate!" Matt called out.
"Sear!" Samurai leapt up, receiving a glancing blow to the leg. It charged and fired it's attack as it fell, resulting in a shot of incineration inches from Machop's face.

Tuck got slightly burnt from the Incinerate, but stopped the Low Kick when he got behind Samurai. "Tuck, use Leer!" Julia shouted. Tuck glared very venomously at Samurai, seemingly looming over him.

Luckily for Samurai, he had landed behind Tuck, not seen, and thus not felt slightly lessened effects of the leer.
"Samurai, spin around and use scratch!"
"Pan!" Samurai did so and slashed at Machop with it's claws in a scratch attack.

Tuck got hit with the full blow of the attack and cried out. "Chop!" Julia bit her thumb. "Hang in there Tuck! Run in and use Close Combat!" She yelled. Tuck got up on his feet and ran at Samurai, fists flying in an almost unfollowable flurry.

"Sear!" Samurai got out of the way, but received a massive throttling in the seconds before it did.
It staggered back from Machop, but felt it's Blaze ability activate. "SEAR!" It cried with renewed vigor, and enhanced firey power.
"Oh, yes." Matt said.
"Samurai, use Incinerate, give it everything you have!"
"SEAR!" Pansear was happy to oblige and unleashed a powerful incinerate attack on Machop.

"Tuck, dodge!" He rolled away, but got slightly burnt in the process, taking damage. Tuck hopped to his feet. "One more time!" She yelled, referring to rushing and using Close Combat. Tuck nodded and ran toward Samurai once more, using Close Combat again.

Samurai, now wary of this powerful attack, jumped back as Tuck rushed forward.
"Samurai, use incinerate again, get it right in the face!" Matt shouted.
Samurai did so, and fired a close-ranged incinerate, gunning right for Machop's face.

"Tuck, hurry, use Low Kick to slide!" Julia directed. Tuck quickly dodged the Incinerate by sliding under it with Low Kick and going toward Samurai. He kept his tiny body pressed to the ground as he went to attack Samurai.

The low-kick slammed into Samurai, sending him sprawling.
From the look of it, as it staggered to it's feet it couldn't take much for. That means they had one last bid for a win.
"Samurai, pour everything you have into one incinerate, go!"
"PANSEAR!" Samurai shouted, it poured all of it's energy into a single powerful incinerate, fired a mere foot from Machop.

Tuck looked fearfully at the flames. He got hit with the full wrath of the Incinerate, and flew back, skidding onto the ground and fainting. Julia ran over to him. She pulled out his Pokeball. "Tuck, return. I'll get you to a Pokecenter as soon as possible." With a flash of red light, Tuck flew back into the Pokeball.

(Don't mind me, I'm just here to give experience to Samurai while I noticed your battle was over ^^)

Samurai gained 12 Exp! Samurai grew to level 12!

Matt walked alongside the girl, he was headed for the pokemon center as well, quite honestly, Samurai had taken a beating, and needed to be healed.
Samurai looked to Matt and poked him.
Matt raised an eyebrow as if to say, "What?"
Samurai gestured towards the girl, possibly wanting Matt to say some kind words, or at least ask a name, as it was in the principles of honor.
Matt quietly shook his head and moved along.
Samurai smacked him then, and, after looking hatefully at Samurai, Matt said to the girl,
"That was a good battle. Might I ask your name?"

"Julia, Julia Golden." She smiled a little. "Yours?" Julia held Tuck's Pokeball in one hand, ready to head to the Pokecenter.

"Matt Credious." Matt replied, just as they arrived at the Pokecenter.
Matt pushed the door open for the girl, and Pansear nodded to him as if to say "Good job being gentlemanly. Next I'll have you putting your coat over puddles."

"Nice name." Julia walked into the Pokecenter. "Thanks." She walked over to Nurse Joy's counter to get Tuck healed.

Matt stepped into line behind Julia, waiting to get Samurai healed.
Samurai tapped Matt once more, pointed to a Map of the Reigon posted on the pokecenter wall, and then to Julia.
"What does he mean? Ah, to go on an adventure with the girl. I suppose the monkey does have a point. I have wanted to go ever since I won that first battle with it. And I do need a partner..."
Matt thought.
As Matt handed Pansear into Nurse Joy to be healed, he said to Julia,
"Are you by any chance interested in going on an adventure?"

"Yeah, actually." She nodded. "When you had challenged me to a battle out there, I was searching for Wild Pokemon to join my team so I could continue my journey. I, uh, don't really have any other Pokemon. As awesome as Tuck is, he's no one man army." Julia shook her head, waiting for Tuck to get out of healing.

Matt nodded.
"I could accompany you, if you'd like..." Matt said. "And, I'm guessing our first stop would be Striation City. That's where the first gym is."

"Sure." Julia took Tuck's Pokeball back from Nurse Joy. "I guess that would be the first stop. I'm kinda new to this region, so yeah."

Matt nodded, and took Samurai back from Nurse Joy with a nod of thanks.
"I'll meet you where we battled tomorrow. From there, we can head out."
With that, Matt turned, and left the Pokemon Center, with his pokemon in tow.
