Adding Friends

Red was in the mood to catch a pokemon and she wanted to do it herself this time. She did not want her anyone to do it for her. As she walked through the tall grass and shrubbery she tried to look around and find a hopeful target. Snorunt shook and shivered in her arms as she walked. She then heard a rustling a little ways down in the forest. She walked in that direction and she heard the rustling get louder. She was determined to find a pokemon and soon she knew she was close to the source because she heard loud cries.

Suddenly, a green and yellow small Pokemon hopped out from a nearby bush in front of Madame Red. The Pokemon resembled some sort of larvae creature, and was beginning to screech and make clicking noises.

Red about squealed when she seen the pokemon. This was exactly what she had been hoping for. She looked down at the adorable pokemon and asked, "Hello cutie would you like to join my group?" Red was giggling slightly causing her red hair to bob and quiver. She was watching the Sewaddle very closely.

The Sewaddle looked at her with a confused expression, and began to cock its head to the side.
"Sewa? Sewaddle...?"
It wriggled towards her, and began to rub against her legs, as if it were a cat of some sort. Perhaps this was its answer.

Red smiled as the pokemon rubbed against her leg. This was great, it was like Sewaddle wanted to go with her. 'This is my chance!' She thought to herself looking at the pokemon. She reached her had into her pocket and pulled out her pokeball. "Alright Sewaddle, lets see if you want to go with me." Red said grinning widely. She lightly tossed the pokeball and watched as a red light engulfed the Sewaddle. The ball fell to the ground and rolled back and forth blinking.

(lol, Red, you don't control whether the Pokemon goes inside the PokeBall or not XD That's the mod's job)
At first, the Sewaddle looked a little frightened at Madame Red suddenly pulling out the PokeBall. But, once it heard her soft voice, it loosened up, and stood up straight to receive it. The Sewaddle seemed to go inside the PokeBall without much resistance. It rolled and shook back and forth for a few seconds, before finally glowing softly and a 'click' sound was heard.
Congratulations! You caught a Sewaddle! Would you like to give it a nickname?

Red jumped happily as the Sewaddle stayed in the pokeball and it clicked. This meant that she had a new pokemon! She was too excited for words, she picked up the ball and placed it in her pocket. This was exactly what she needed to take on the pokemon gym in the next town.

Red was too busy paying attention to her new pokeball that she did not hear the sound of something walking behind her. She could only think of her new pokemon and how lovely it would be to battle and train with it. This was going to be a fun adventure indeed.

Suddenly, a Poochyena jumped out from a bush behind her with a loud howl. It circled Madame Red; growling and barking as it did so. A woman appeared from the same bushes and yelled, "Wulf! Back down. She is not an enemy."
The Poochyena whimpered, but backed off a few steps to sit down and scratch at its ear.

Red heard a bark and was so startled she fell over. She quickly got back up shaking grass an leaves out of her red hair. She turned and looked to the source of the bark and seen it was a trainer's Poochyena. She looked to the woman and then was struck with a wonderful thought. She tuned to the woman and asked her, "Miss would you mind battling me?"

"Battling you? Are you sure you can handle it?"
The woman asked, flicking a lock of blue hair from her face as she did so. She had wonderful cerulean blue eyes and hair, and wore rimless glasses. A small dark blue hat was atop her head, and she wore gray Bermuda shorts and a dark green short-sleeve T-Shirt. A small bag the same color as her hair was draped around her waist and she wore black boots.

Red seen the woman properly and realized that she was the woman's polar opposite. But she did not care, she wanted a battle and she would take it where she could get it. "Oh yeah I think this will be fun, Snorunt take the stage!" She announced loudly. Snorunt leapt from her arms and landed squarely in front of her. She happened to be wearing a red and black dress and a red hat with a black bow. She was ready and pumped for this battle.

The woman smirked.
"Alright, then. Wulf! We have an opponent."
Her Poochyena barked and leaped a few steps in front of Snorunt. The Poochyena seemed to look excited to battle a Pokemon.
"You may have the first move."
The woman said with a smile.

Red looked a bit nervous at the woman's confidence but she knew that Snorunt could handle it. She looked to Snorunt who nodded her ascent, "Alright then lets get things started off with Spikes." Snorunt jumped into the air and twirled scattering Spikes as she did.

Wulf dodged any Spikes that headed his way, and didn't seem to care much about the remaining.
"Wulf! Use Tackle!"
The woman shouted, and the Poochyena began to charge at the Snorunt.

Red seen the pokemon dodge the spikes and knew this was not good. She then thought of a careful strategy, "Now Snorunt use Double Team and then use Ice Beam." Snorunt immediately made multiple copies of herself and then shot a bluish ray of ice toward the Poochyena.

Wulf saw that it would be impossible to figure out which copy was the real one by taking them down one by one, so he tried to dodge the Ice Beams. A few hit his right hind leg, and the paw had become encased in ice.
"Tch. Wulf! Use Howl!"
The woman called out, clenching her fists tightly.

Red new that the Poochyena would soon destroy the copies. This meant that she needed to come up with a plan and quick. She smiled she had the perfect combination for this, "Now Snorunt, use Powder Snow to distract it and then get up close and use Bite!" Snorunt immediately sprang into action summoning a thick gust of snow that one could hardly see in. She then moved quickly up behind Poochyena and tried to use Bite on the pokemon.

The Poochyena could not see the Snorunt trying to use Bite, but was able to hear her, and tried to move away from both attacks. He then charged at the Snorunt to use his own Bite attack.
"That's it, Wulf!"
The woman shouted with a smile at her Pokemon.

Red could only smile at the woman's mistake. As the Poochyena used Bite on Snorunt this left it open to an attack. And she intended to take full advantage of it. "Now Snorunt use Ice Beam. Than follow it up with Spikes." She told her pokemon. Snorunt shot an Ice Beam at the opposing pokemon and then hurled Spikes at it.

The woman realize that if she didn't do something soon, Wulf would be hit by both attacks.
"Wulf! Try using Tackle to propel yourself out of the way of the Ice Beam!"
The Poochyena attempted to use Tackle and push himself out of the way, but was too slow, and part of his tail was now frozen and the spikes clung to his flank.
"Tch. Let's retaliate with Howl, then follow up with Tackle!"

Red knew it was too late to dodge but she did the next best thing. She was going to play chicken with the Poochyena, "Now Snorunt use Ice Beam directly at the Poochyena." Snorunt was tackled now all they could do was wait to see if her plan had worked.

Once Wulf had tackled Snorunt, the Poochyena leaped away. When Ice Beam was fired, the woman tried desperately to think of a plan.
"Wulf! Try to dodge it!"
The Poochyena nodded, and began trying to jump away. The Ice Beam just narrowly missed entirely encasing one of Wulf's hind legs.

With the Poochyena encased in ice this gave Red the opening she was looking for. "Now Snorunt Lets wrap this up and use Bite." She told her pokemon. Snorunt ran toward Poochyena an attempted to land a Bite.
