Rei's New Adventure [PARTNER NEEDED]

Rei stepped off the ferry. Imediately a cold sensation fluttered through her body like butterflies of ice, as her warm blood was invaded by the cool air of the city. Amu curled around Rei's neck and slept. Rei took a short walk into the wild surrounding the city.

"Let's get started then. We've got some training to do," she said.

She called out first Aki. Noticing the large icy boulder she wished the evolve Aki. They trained and trained. They first worked on speed. Aki was quite slow, and could not run very fast. Rei discussed a technique with her. Aki was gradually getting faster. By the end she was like lightning. Rei was very proud of her, but wanted to put her skills to the test. She called out Azuril. First she wanted to see her dodge attacks. Amu used a speedy Water Gun. Aki continued to dodge the attacks of Water Gun. Rei was pleased. Next she wanted to test Aki's own speed. Amu had great speed. If Aki could land a Tackle on her it would be amazing. it took a few tries, but Aki began to get the hang of it. Eventually her Tackle was like Quick Attack. Next they worked on terrain. Aki hobbled about on the rocks and cliffs and snow, and learned how to swim fluently and climb trees and hop between them, and even how to see in the dark better. Rei then put her to the test by having her run around in all different terrains. She was so proud of Aki at how graceful she was in the difficult terrains, and knew it would be handy for battles and contests. Next she worked on strength. She showed Aki how to add force to attacks, special or physical. Aki did terrifically. To test her Rei sent her to move and maybe even break a boulder. She did it. The final piece of training was to teach her to use cunning. She inspired creativity into Aki. Aki demonstrated it by dodging bubble, by hopping from bubble to to bubble and even managed to get a Tackle in when she was close. Rei was happy and was hoping this would get Aki some experience, and help her in battle. Then she waited for the moment of truth, would she evolve in the desired Glaceeon she wanted?

Aki began to glow a bright white light. The Eevee began to change shape; her rounded ears becoming more pointy and blocky. The fur around her neck began to disappear and her once brown color became an icy blue. Even her black eyes turned more of a dark blue hue.
Congratulations! Your Eevee has evolved into a Glaceon!

Rei laughed and hugged the magnificent new form her companion. Her body was cold, but glowing with helath. Her eyes glistened in the cold sunshine. She brought out a Pokeball and returned her. Next she called out Umi. Rei knew Umi was already tactical, and probably one of her best Pokemon (up until now that Aki has been trained and evolved, but others will be too), however she still lacked some skills, and so began the training.

Rei planned to teach the same skills. First, of course, speed. The went over flying first. If Umi spread her wings out perfectly straight then her glides would last for longer. If she flatened her feet then curled them up and sprang when jumping she could go further into the air, and spreading her wings made it even higher and faster. Then she found once airbourne if she pullede her wings back she would go faster. Then Umi learned how to catch the wind, in order to be able to temporarily fly, and land safely. Next came speed on the ground. They came across a great strategy for running that would bring her to speed of a non-flying, or rather non-bird Pokemon. Once again she faced Amu and passed. Next was terrain. Umi found that underwater she would normally be buoyant but if she put her wings behind her she could glide through the water with speed. She could also swim on the water surface the same way. She climbed trees quickly being resourceful with her beak and tallons. Hopping between them was simple for her. Next was power. Umi managed to move and break a bolder just as Aki did. Intellect wasn't needed too much for Umi as so she was already so cunning, but Rei still increased it. The training session was over.

Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind blew towards the trainer and her Pokemon. Umi was swept up by the wind, and was floating in mid-air because of it. Upon closer inspection, the wind wasn't really wind, but a Gust attack from an angry Staravia!

"We could get experience from this!" she cried happily.

Umi glided towards Staravia using the gust to allow her to go fast and stay up. She spun and used Ice Beam, attempting to encase him in a spiral of ice.

The bird Pokemon saw through Umi's plan, and began to use Wing Attack. The wind from its attack blew faster and harder against the small Swablu.

Umi managed to spiral around the wing dodging the attack but was blown back by the now intense wind. She used Ice Beam to freeze the air, or make it denser so that Staravia would slow down and she would have bought some time.

The Staravia began to grow even more angry, and started to attack Rei. He looked back and forth from the trainer to the rock. Then, it used Aerial Ace and attempted to strike either Umi or Rei.

Rei put her hands up to defend herself. Umi shrieked, trying to call Staravia out. she glared at him, trying to get him to attack her and leave Rei alone.

The Staravia was about to attack Rei, when a yellow blur jumped out and pinned it to the ground. Whatever it was unleashed a Thundershock on the bird Pokemon, effectively causing it to faint.

"What..? Something saved us! What could it have been..?" said Rei.

She went to investigate. She pulled the bush back and peared in.

The blur turned out to be... A Pichu?!
"Chuchu! Come back here!"
The voice of a young girl came from behind Rei. The Pichu walked to the girl with an embarrassed expression.
"Chuchu! You know better than to just run off like that! If you do that again, I'll rip your flower album!"
The little Pichu looked extremely apologetic and seemed to be asking for forgiveness and begging not to rip his flower album. The girl sighed, then noticed Rei, and realized that she'd been a bit rude.
"Whoops! Where are my manners? Mother always did tell me to be respectful! Hello there! My name is Cathy Felinius, but you can just call me Cat! Sorry for ruining your battle there. Chuchu here just loves to help people."

"Sorry? Chuchu saved me! Thank you so much! I was just in the middle of training my Pokemon. My name's Rei, nice to meet you!"

Rei did a slight bow, like a nod of her head and gave a smile.

"Huh?"
Cat blinked, looked at Rei, then at Chuchu.
"He saved you?"
After several silent moments, she started to laugh hysterically.
"Girly Chuchu... *laugh* SAVED someone?"
The little Pichu started to get angry, and let loose a Thundershock at the laughing girl. There was a scream, some flashes, and a very dirty Cat trying to strangle Chuchu.
"Try that again, and I'll squash you like a little-"
Of course, this was normal, and no harm was really done.

Rei stood there starstruck.

"Should I do something? Did I do this? What do I do? Should I say something?" Rei rapidly thought to herself.

A few minutes later, both Chuchu and Cat were looking beaten up.
"I win."
Cat said, as she held Chuchu in a 'deathgrip'. The Pichu pouted, but admitted defeat.
"Anyways~ The real reason I'm here, is because of a rumor!"

"A rumor? What was it?"

As she said it Rei felt the egg she was cluthing to shake. She held it closer and got excited.

"The rumor was about an excellent coordinator training around here! Would you happen to know her?"
Cat's eyes began to twinkle at the thought of finding the coordinator.

Rei blushed.

"I'm a coordinator training here!" she laughed, "But no I've not seen anyone. Just me."

She called out Pandora her Snorunt and gave her a Dawn Stone to evolve her into Frosslass. Pandora then ran off to the lake to do some training.

"You're the coordinator?! That's excellent!"
Cat suddenly got down on her knees, then bowed.
"Please teach me to be a coordinator!"
Even Chuchu bowed with her.

Rei was so astonished she add a fan.

"Me? You.. You want to be like me?" Rei said, amazed she had a fan.

"Well, the key is to be creative, and use your Pokemon's attacks and skills to your advantage," she said, "What attacks does Chuchu have?"

"Chuchu has Thundershock, Charm, Sweet Kiss, Volt Tackle, Tail Whip, and Thunder Wave. Oh, but Chuchu isn't my only Pokemon!"
Cat threw a PokeBall into the air, and a yellow light came from it. The light reached the ground, dissipated, then in its place, was a golden-colored winged cat.
"This is Catulus, my Card Pokemon!"

"Wow... I've never seen that one before.." Rei was dazed by this Pokemon.

"Well You could spin and use Thundershock to make spinning rings of electricity, then use Charm to send hearts at it which would burst into sparkles making them glow pinkish, then use Volt Tackle and charm to surround yourself with pink lightning and run around the edge of the arena to make giant rings, and then to finish get into the air and dive through all of the rings and destroy them all, leaving the stage filled with sparkles. I guess it's just things like that you have to come up with, right?" said Rei.

Cat's eyes grew round and large at the description.
"Wow! You thought of that so quickly!"
She began to bow again.
"I worship you! (XD)"

Rei was dazzled by this comment.

"Oh no really! I'm nothing! I'm just an amateur! Thank you so much for your compliments, but really, I'm no expert!" Rei said, giving a warm smile.
