Strolling to Petalburg City

A level 9 male Seedot had rolled out from behind the bush. He struggled to stand up but couldn't manage to. After a while, he just lay there on the ground panting (as much as a Seedot can pant).

The Seedot remained still for several seconds, still trying to regain enough strength to stand. When it finally did look up it let out a cry of terror, then began waddling away from Sableye as best as it could.

Shortly after the Seedot's surprise, a strange sound began to fill the air... One could say it sounded like the stomping of several little paws, trampling through the forest. But what could be making such a noise? And... was that barking?

"S-Seedot! Seedot!" The wild Seedot began to panic, shouting at Sableye in an attempt to warn him to flee. It hoped the creepy Pokemon and his Trainer would heed its warning and leave before it was too late.

After hearing Seedot's cries Sableye quickly turned towards it's trainer. He looked a little bit confused but tried his best to explain the situation to Damon. "Sable - Sableye - Sable - Sable," started the pokemon explaining while making different kind of zests with his hands. Because he was able to hear the trampling he was able to make out what the pokemon tried to say to him, "So, there is a group of pokemon coming?" with seemingly a smirk on his face. Sableye nodded and turned towards the location the barking and stamping type of sounds came from.

Damon didn't really think much about what he was going to do. He simply walked up behind Seedot and kneel down, making an attempt to pick the pokemon up, "Come here little fellow, everything going to be ok," comforted Damon the pokemon. Sableye also knew what to do, he was just supposed to probably beat the crap out of anything what was about to come out from there and that is what he was gonna do. He walked one meeter or so in front of the Seedot and was ready for combat.

The Seedot wasn't entirely sure if it wanted to trust Damon, but when it heard the other wild Pokemon approaching, it determined that it had no other choice. It hopped into Damon's arms in hopes that the Trainer would protect it from further harm.

The barks and pounding of feet grew louder, coming closer and closer until movement could be seen within the bushes. Finally, three dog-like Pokemon came bounding out of the forest, sniffing the air before sighting the Seedot with Damon.

Poochyena they all were, and none of them looked too happy to see a Trainer and his Pokemon standing between them and the Seedot. They growled and barked a few times, communicating with each other while keeping their eyes focused upon Sableye. It seemed obvious that the purple Ghost Pokemon was prepared to fight, but they weren't entirely sure they were up for it. Nevertheless, the trio seemed to come to a decision, and one of them boldly stepped forward as if to challenge Sableye.

(Poochyena, male. Level 10.)

The Poochyena was a bit frightened by the sudden attack made by the shadows. It let out a bit of a yipe before it was even hit, and it squealed more when Sableye's attack made contact. Lucky for Poochyena, the attack's type was at a disadvantage, and it didn't do as much damage as it would have otherwise, but it still did quite a number on the Dark type due to the level difference between the two battlers.

Shaking it off as best it could, Poochyena focused its red eyes upon its opponent, snarling loudly before kicking and hurling sand towards Sableye. Poochyena used Sand Attack!

Now this certainly was a frightening predicament. Poochyena stared in shock as Sableye dashed right through its Sand Attack, and before the dog Pokemon knew what was happening, it was struck by the Ghost type's claws. It only took two hits from Fury Swipes before the Poochyena fell over, letting out a whimper as it became unconscious.

Wild Poochyena fainted! Sableye gained 10 exp!

The remaining two Poochyena were quite surprised that the first had been beaten so easily. They both exchanged glances, then turned tail and ran back into the forest, fleeing from the Trainer and his obviously strong Pokemon.

The Seedot hadn't even noticed that the fight was over. It was bracing itself just in case Sableye lost and the Poochyena somehow managed to get Damon to back off. Much to Seedot's surprise, nothing of the sort had happened. It slowly looked around, then focused upon Damon as he asked a seemingly simple, but very important question.

It thought for a few moments, unsure of how to respond. Damon and his Sableye had been kind enough to protect the little Seedot from those Poochyena, and they both were obviously strong. The Seedot liked the idea of becoming a part of a strong team, then it would never have to worry about getting pushed around again.

It let out a cheer, wiggling happily before flinching in pain. It still hadn't recovered from its earlier injuries, but it felt very safe in Damon's hands. It did its best to mask its pain as it tried to prove itself tough enough to join such a team as Damon's.

Damon gave another friendly smile to Seedot and spoke, "With us you have to train really hard though." The boy put Seedot on the ground and pulled out one of his Pokeballs. He went on one knee and the used to pokeball to try and capture the Seedot. Sableye was okay with the decision that new pokemon would join their team, after all he was pretty lonely all alone. The seedot was sucked into pokeball and now it was just waiting for his final decision.

The thought of going inside of a Pokeball frightened the Seedot at first, but it reminded itself that it needed to be tough for Damon. It gave a determined nod (as best as a Seedot could) and allowed the Pokeball to pull it in.

The ball would wiggle once... twice... three times, then finally settled as the light in the center faded out, signifying that the Pokemon had been caught.

He looked the pokeball with excitement as it wiggled, it was his first pokemon he had ever caught after Sableye. When the light finally faded out he smiled and looked at Sableye pointing the pokeball towards him, "Look, I got you a friend." Sableye quickly ran to the boy to get a better look. Damon let the Seedot out of it's pokeball. The newly caught Seedot and Sableye seemed to get along, that only made the boy more happy.

As the two pokemon were chatting the boy walked up to the fainted Poochyena. Once again he kneel down and even though the Poochyena was unconscious he whispered to his ear, "If you want to play bad you have to get way way stronger. Also find yourself better comrades, those were cowards," a little evil smirk appeared on boy's face, "I come back here, maybe if you are stronger you might challenge me again."

After that the boy stood up and shouted, "Let's go the two of you, we still have a long way towards Petalburg City!" Sableye and Seedot heard the boy and started running towards him. It took a little time for the Seedot to reach him because of his really tiny feet and he still seemed to be injured. Damon picked the pokemon up and placed him on his shoulder, "Yes, this will do." He mumbled to himself and started walking, Sableye following him.

After walking only about five hundred meters or so another wild pokemon appeared. This time Damon didn't even bother pulling out his Pokedex though, it was probably some kind of Poochyena or Wurmple again.

Damon was right in sensing another wild Pokemon approaching, but his suspicions of what kind it might be proved to be mistaken. Rustling from out of the tall grass came a Psychic Pokemon, stumbling a bit on its tiny white feet while trying to see from beneath the rims of its helmet-shaped head. It was a bit uncommon to see a Ralts in this area, but this one seemed right at home where it was.

When the little Ralts took notice of Damon and his Pokemon, it quickly took on a fighting stance, ready to defend itself if necessary. It didn't appear frightened, though that was probably due to its ability to sense the emotions of others. It knew Damon didn't have any intentions of blatantly harming it without a battle of some kind, so it remained on guard and waited for the Trainer to make a move.

A wild Ralts appeared! (Male, level 8)

Damon glared at the pokemon. He thought it looked little funny but the it just looked down to Sableye. Young boy's face hinted that he was little embarrassed because of something. Sableye nor Seedot could really figure out about what so finally Sableye asked, "Sableye?" Damon was embarrassed because he thought he knew pretty much every Pokemon in Hoenn Region but now he couldn't identify one living in a forest. "Haha . . . nothing," said the boy trying to joke it off and pulled out his Pokedex, pointing it towards Ralts. He also tried to not scare away the pokemon, thus tried to make a conversation with it, "So hello there little one."

Upon pointing his Pokedex towards the Pokemon, the red device lit up and began speaking in its electronic voice. "Ralts: The feeling Pokemon. Ralts senses the emotions of people using the horns on its head. This Pokemon rarely appears before people. But when it does, it draws closer if it senses that the person has a positive disposition."

The Ralts tilted its head a bit as it listened to the Pokedex speak, then it looked back at Damon as he spoke his greetings. Silence passed between them, the wild Pokemon still waiting for someone to make a move. It couldn't determine whether or not Damon was a threat for sure, but it wasn't about to let its guard down so easily. It remained still, trying to pick up on the emotions of not only Damon, but his Pokemon too.

The Ralts remained motionless as it continued to try and pick up on the emotions of each of the strangers standing before it. When Damon burst into laughter it was a bit startled, but it kept its composure as it curiously watched the Trainer.

As Damon explained himself, the Ralts seemed to listen carefully as though it understood well enough what Damon wanted. Finally, it nodded its head and let out a sound of agreement. It seemed to be relieved in knowing now that there was going to be a battle. At least it didn't have to expect any sudden attacks until it was ready for them.

The Ralts moved back a bit as if to mark out enough room for a proper battlefield, then it turned and faced Damon as it spread out its little arms in a welcoming gesture. It seemed the Psychic type was ready to accept the Trainer's challenge.

The Ralts listened to Seedot as he declared his determination to win this battle, and Ralts gave a bit of a nod as it smiled. It could sense that Seedot really wanted to be accepted by Damon, and it was interesting that this Pokemon cared for its Trainer so much... The Ralts quickly focused its attention on the fight ahead as Seedot began by raising his stats.

The Psychic type was a bit short on options for attacks due to its level, so it started with its only offensive move. As it lifted its head a bit its eyes became visible, and they changed from their usual ruby red color to a glowing blue as it concentrated its psychic powers on Seedot. It closed its eyes for only a moment, then released a telekinetic force at its opponent. Ralts used Confusion!

Ralts was unfamiliar with Pokemon that used Bide. Most would use a direct attack right after receiving a hit from Confusion like that, but Seedot looked as though he was imitating a stone wall-- completely immovable. But that wouldn't deter the Psychic type as it once again attacked with its telekinesis. Ralts used Confusion!
