Name: Alice Hope
Nickname: Al, Ali
Age: Eighteen
Gender: Female
Rank: ‘New’ Trainer
Birthplace: Ascorbia Island, Orange Archipelago
Battle Style: Ruthless, usually preferring offense to defensive strategies. She relies on vast movesets to take on any target, and prefers dual-type Pokemon such as her starter.
Looks: Alice stands short at a mere five-foot, and with a petite frame and milky-white skin, it looks as if she doesn’t get enough sunlight. Her incredibly weak eyesight leaves the girl wearing glasses practically all the time, and in addition to that, she has teeth that aren’t straight and no muscles to speak of. In terms of her feminine attributes, what she lacks in booty she makes up elsewhere, but her appearance is fairly average. With chubby cheeks and chub on her tummy, the former student fits a more ‘moe’ description. Her blonde hair reaches down to her mid back, with bangs that can be styled in a variety of ways, and Alice’s eyes are a deep blue.
Personality: Alice is, in a number of words, a spoiled brat with a tendency to procrastinate, and she wouldn’t deny it if asked. The only child of her parents in a big family, she is used to full attention and getting what she wants, although the ****** side of this has toned down as she’s grown up and learned how the world works. Despite being selfish in putting herself as number one and wanting a lot, quickly, years of bullying has moulded her into a mostly-kind person, particularly towards Pokemon, as most don’t judge the same way classmates do. Her average looks also mean that she has depended a lot on her intelligence, and when Alice finally gets around to doing something constructive, it is usually done well.
Saying that, if Alice likes something, it will get done faster. For example, the girl has a massive appetite, and is usually found munching or drinking water/juice, or feeding Pokemon when she was back in her Academy. And aside from that, the girl loved her books, theatre/Musicals, taking a long time or settling in front of the TV after a long day at the Academy. At the Academy, her favourite passtimes were Battling, Cooking, Acting (for Musicals/Dramas/etc) and a few Pokeathlon events (presuming one could get her off her lazy bum). The years of bullying have also hardened the once-sensitive child, who can rise above it, and continues to act charismatically, although she can be shy at first meetings or with members of authority. Romantically, the teenager isn’t very experienced. In terms of world views, she’s also a cynic.
History: Alice was born on Ascorbia Island, to a young couple whose lives had barely begun. Tiffany, her mother, was training to be a teacher at Ascorbia Academy after spending two years on a Pokemon journey around numerous regions, and her father Simon had recently graduated from a prestigious university. They had met at the train station in Golenrod City where he newly claimed a job as an engineer, but before they knew it, a child was expected.
Somehow, the two were able to make it work, with her grandparents that lived in the Sinnoh Resort Area sometimes taking care of her, and nearby daycare also looking after Alice when the parents had work. Tiffany’s job at Earl’s Academy meant that she was enrolled as soon as she was old enough, attending many clubs while her loving – but busy and regretful parents – continued to make the money to support themselves. Having a teacher for a mother meant that no homework went undone as much as the young girl already tried shirking responsibilities, but she was a strong student, albeit one that went neglected by most of her peers. Alice was a charismatic and friendly girl who tried her best, but also confrontational when treat too harshly, and in the end this typical, but cruel treatment had her channel her time into more individual activities such as reading, television, or tending to the Pokemon.
Her ‘my pace’ attitude may have attracted negative attention, but through the years, it also led to her strongest bond. Many of the children compared her to ‘slow’ or ‘stupid’ looking/acting creatures such as Psyduck, Wooper, Magikarp and Slowpoke, but that didn’t wound for long. Alice spent a lot of time with one of the rentals, Slowpoke, and she tried to become his friend. His blankness made it frustrating at times, but she fussed over him, trained him and picked him so often in exercises, most students let her have the claim during activities.
In the present, at age eighteen, Alice is one of the Academy’s ‘senpai’ with only ‘mature’ attendees or the teachers being able to beat her in age (or perhaps experience). Most of the bullies were long gone in their walks of life, but Alice remained, juggling lessons in a range of subjects, helping as a teaching assistant and working in the nearby Department Store. But finally, the teenager felt it was time to go on her own journey after so long of learning and parental pressure. The teachers gave Alice the Slowpoke she had spent so long working alongside, and she was on her way.

Pokémon
Pokémon: Slowpoke
Nickname: None
Gender: Male
Level: 12
Moves: Curse, Yawn, Tackle, Growl, Water Gun, Flamethrower (5th Gen TM)
Ability: Oblivious
Personality: Lax, Alert to Sound. Loves Sour, hates Bitter. In terms of real personality, like his trainer and many of his species, he is very ‘my pace’, at the very least /seeming/ lost in his own world. He does at times forget what he’s doing, but he isn’t stupid, and understands what is asked of him. In battle, this species slowness can be a hindrance, but he is a reliable powerhouse, and his jolly and affectionate disposition is valued much by the girl who owns him. Secretly, though, he sometimes feels like he owns her, and can feel jealous when the fuss is taken elsewhere. But, alas, Slowpoke generally doesn’t put the effort in to express this, and patiently waits/sleeps/zones out instead.
