The Adventure Begins

Chloe closed her eyes, fighting back any tears that were threatening to brim as she hugged her father close. "I'm going to miss you Chloe, you be careful.. and call whenever you can.. here take this" she glanced down as he placed a silver cell phone in her hand. "Call every night so I know where you are, okay?" She smiled and slipped the cell phone into one of the pockets of her bag "okay dad, I'll miss you too.. I'll be okay and I'll be back to visit real soon" they hugged one more time before Chloe knelt and took her little Eevee into her arms and turned leaving the house. She started through the city allowing Eevee to climb up and sit on her shoulder as she made her way.

Reina walked through the city with Bulbasaur sitting in her arms. She was visiting the area, already having her Rainbow Badge, she didn't need to battle Erika again. She needed to get to Pallet Town soon too, to check on an egg she left there.

Chloe had spent most of the previous night going over the map, trying to decide which route she was going to take and where she was going to begin. She actually wanted to head towards Cerulean City, she would pull out her map once more as if she hadn't already memorized it. She had slowed her walking, but hadn't stopped completely as she probably should have as she looked along the route she wanted to take. "we'll take this road here.. there's lots of grasslands on the way and we can work on collecting some friends.. what do you think?" she looked towards the small fox like pokemon sitting on her shoulder, the creature would smile "Eev-". Eevee stopped, perking her ears up and jumping to the top of Chloe's head, about 1/4 of a second later she walked directly into another girl, hard enough to knock her backwards, she had to catch her balance as her map went flying "oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" she started before she had even caught her balance yet "are you alright?"

As Chloe knocked into Reina's back, Bulbasaur jumped out of Reina's arms to avoid being squashed as her trainer fell to the ground.

"Y-yeah..." Reina said, as she got back up, "I'm fine. Are you okay?" She asked her. When she was knocked over, one of her Pokeballs had fallen out and was rolling away. Bulbasaur quickly ran after it, opening it as well. Riolu was sent out, he picked up his Pokeball and walked over to Reina.

Chloe managed to just keep her balance, throwing one of her arms out and using the nearest wall to keep her from falling the rest of the way. Eevee moved quickly from the top of her head, to her shoulder and across her arm and after the map that had started running away from her. Chloe reached a hand out to the girl she had knocked down "yeah I'm okay.. that was my fault, I should have been watching where I was going.."

She turned her attention to Eevee, who had just flung herself into the air, catching the paper in her mouth. Chloe walked over and scooped up her pokemon taking the map from her "thank you Eevee.." she turned her attention back to the girl, glancing towards her two pokemon and then noticing the pack "oh.. are you a trainer too?" she asked, a slight smile on her face.

"Mhmm, yup. And by the looks of it... are you a new trainer?" She asked her, as she picked up Riolu.

A smile crossed her face "yeah, I actually just left home today.. well me and Eevee. I'm Chloe, what's your name?" She waited for Eevee to climb up to her shoulder before offering her hand.

"I'm Reina." She introduced herself, "I was on my way to Pallet Town actually." She told Chloe.

"Oh, where professor Oak lives? I was going to head to Cerulean City, it's on the way.. I'm not sure if you prefer traveling alone.." she glanced towards her Eevee who was beginning to look impatient.

"I'll travel with you." Reina said, "So I'm guessing you want the Cascade badge then?" She asked.

"that'll be great!" she smiled enthusiastically "I'm hoping that I'm ready by the time I get there.. I don't have that much practice yet, but there are so many grassy fields on the way, we could train on some wild pokemon and maybe catch a few as well. I can't wait to get a badge" a look of excitement in her eyes.

"Do you already have that badge?" she asked curiously.

Reina nodded, "Oh yeah... Misty was easy since I had Bulbasaur with me." She told Chloe. The purple haired girl then took out her badge case, opening it up to show Chloe her badges. Her badges were well polished, showing a Boulder Badge, Cascade Badge, Thunder Badge, Rainbow Badge and her newly won Soul Badge.

(I know I shouldn't interfere but I checked your pokemon and Meowth and Bulbasaur are both high enough a level to evolve unless you were deliberately not evolving them yet?)

(Yup, well I plan on evolving Meowth and Bulbasaur eventually, I'm just not sure when xD)

"wow.." she said staring at the badges as they shown in the sun, even Eevee was staring in awe "that's amazing.. I hope with training I can be like that too" she glanced down to the map which was still in her hands "er.. I suppose we don't need this just now then.." she slipped it into her backpack. "Were you ready to leave Celadon yet?" she asked the girl feeling herself growing as anxious as her young Eevee.

Reina nodded, "Yeah, we were actually on our way out." She said. Riolu jumped off of Reina's shoulder and landed on his feet.
"I was heading for areas with lower leveled Pokemon, since I'm going to start training Riolu." She told Chloe. Bulbasaur nodded, "Saur!"

"I keep my Pokemon at my house in Pallet Town too, so I might train them too." She told Chloe.

Chloe let out a chuckle at the pokemon as he jumped to the ground "that's great.. do you think you could teach me a few things?" she asked, starting to head towards the road that would take them in the right direction.

"oh yeah? I know you can't carry more than a certain amount of pokemon with you.. how many were there again?" she frowned in thought "five or six.. but I promised Eevee that no matter how many others I got she would always be with me on my travels.. so are you going home to visit your pokemon?"

"Yeah, I also have a Pokemon egg I need to get there too." She told Chloe, "And you can only have 6 Pokemon with you at a time." She told her.

Her eyes widened in awe "wow, you have an egg? Do you know what kind it is yet?" she smiled and nodded "yes, your right.. I.. don't really know all that much about training, or really being a trainer.. we didn't see a lot of trainers in our line of work. The people who buy from a breeder usually own them as pets. That's what my father does, he's a breeder.. that's how I got my Eevee" she scratched the creatures head affectionately as they continued.

"My dad's also a breeder, my family runs a small ranch, it acts as a day care center and takes care of trainer's Pokemon." She told Chloe,"The egg's a Dragon Pokemon egg, that's all I know." She laughed, as they were already leaving Celadon City.

"that's a pretty good idea.. my dad used to breed rare pokemon for professor Oak, but he didn't find much success in that, he preferred creating healthy breeds of already existing pokemon.. a dragon breed.. wow, we actually haven't had much of those. We tend to get a lot of fire type and normal type, and then we get special requests. Eevee was a special request, but the lady who wanted her only wanted her if we changed her into a flareon, otherwise she wasn't interested and.. Eevee wasn't ready to be evolved yet." She glanced around with interest as they exited the city, it had been so long since she had left the city that she found this exciting.

They were already passing some grass, full of wild Pokemon.
"It's never a good idea to evolve a Pokemon right away if you have a stone." Reina agreed.
"They might not learn that many attacks."

Chloe smiled "I love my Eevee just the way she is.. the only way I'll ever change her is if she wants to change.." she paused, her eyes going over the moving grass.. spotting different types of pokemon "wow.. I had never realized how many wild pokemon there really were.." she bit her lip eagerly

"What do you say Eevee, you want to get started?" she looked up to her companion who nodded eagerly "Vee!" she stepped into the grass waiting to run into a pokemon

A wild Pidgey, level 6, male was flying about.

Chloe watched as the large flying pokemon wandered around the grass, she glanced back at her little Eevee "you think we can take him?" the Eevee looked at her, a glint in her eye and nodded confidently, giving Chloe an extra hit of confidence "alright then, Eevee go get him! Tackle!"
