Lj is actually a really complex person. 80 % of his personality is like a chameleon, it adapts itself to it's surroundings, mostly people, in two possible ways: mimicking and countering. Lj is not aware of this ability, but if his personality is mimicking, copying the other person's personality, the two feel close, as if they're friends. If Lj counters the other person, he gets the good/bad traits of personality that would balance out with the mentioned person. This natural ability was caused by the lack of parenting, so Lj was never sure how to act in certain situations, so his brain started adapting his personality to others'.

The left 20% are of a teen who enjoys adventures and fights, but is a lazy-ass childish geek, who just wants to rather sit home all day watching anime and cartoons than go outside and explore. He loves sports, even if he sucks at them. Although he has good manners and acts like a gentleman, inside he's a weapon of destruction, always planning something, either it be good or evil, however it doesn't always end up as he would want them to and he tries to learn from past mistakes.

Battle Style:
Due to his personality, Lj has a high level of adaptivity to his opponent's tactics, but his lack of knowledge about pokemon is dragging him down. It won't be rare when Lj will try using his knowledge of chemistry and physics to his advantage. If he knows his future opponent, Lj will plan all day all night, until he has the perfect strategy, but when in the battlefield he relies more on his instincts than strategies made up on the spot.

Past Experience / History:
Lj's grandpa was once a pokemon trainer, known as "The Wildred Beast". Even he was never able to challenge The Elite Four (grandpa only gather 5 badges), he was still a respected trainer. The Wildred Beast was able to raise and train a Charizard, which layed an egg soon after he stopped his journey. He was an old man already, so he gave the egg to his newborn grandson Lj, in hopes that the child can achieve what the beast couldn't.

Lj's mother died while he was still young. His father would always be at work, so the only company the boy had was his own, young Charmander and his grandpa, who would tell stories about his great journey. It inspired an adventurer inside the child and being at the age of 7, he promised that one day he'll become the greatest trainer there is. But with age the dream grew dull, as it looked just like a childish dream.

He would play with his charmander in his basement, imagining that he's battling the Elite Four. Lj and Charmeleon became close friends, as they were growing up together since Lj learned to walk. Charmeleon was loyal to Lj, and Lj felt strong with the pokemon. But the games got boring and day after day, the duo would just lay in bed, without practise or training.

But people age, so did Lj and his grandpa. The old man would always ask Lj when will he begin his journey and not much time passed until the kid understood that The Beast is getting ready to kick the bucket.

Understanding how important his promise was, Lj started out his journey. He had a strong motivation to become stronger. Not for himself, but for his grandpa.

This is an awesome start! If you don't mind, there are a couple of things I'd love to see more in-depth for this character:

Personality:
The chameleon interactions are quite interesting, but how does it affect Lj? Does he seem to naturally do this, is it on purpose? Does he enjoy the way he changes with ease, or does it make him fell less of himself because he changes so much? When does his more natural personality shine, when he's alone? When he's good enough friends with others? Also, did the death of his mother affect him at all? The absence of his father? How does he react when his plans don't turn out how he'd like?

History:
You cover all of the basic information well, but I think smaller instances could also help build this character. When he was given Charmander's egg, how did he react due to his laziness and keenness to stay home? He doesn't seem the type who would have fully committed to taking care of an energetic newborn Pokemon. Did the two grow and become close, or are they still getting to know one another? While straying from adventure as he grew, were there any other passions he delved into?
