The hot air balloon had taken Alice from Rudy's battle turf back over to the main part of Trovita, and after saying goodbye to the (very) few friends made, the young woman was off again. It was nice to visit somewhere without a member of Team Rocket threatening her, and it felt pathetic that not being assaulted by a criminal made the experience of Trovita Island stand out.

Thankfully, there was a ship leaving towards Mikan Island. It was the first stop for most on the gym circuit but the final one for Alice, and also the one she was dreading most. Slowpoke was the only one capable of surfing, and that meant he was her entry into the race against Cissy's Blastoise. It was going to require some strategy and a hell of a lot of training, and she could forsee it being her first gym loss and the biggest gap between herself and the Pummelo Champion yet.

"Fuck's sake, this is gonna be fun..." She sighed. Her room had already been claimed, and now the budding idol was stretched out on a lounger, sunglasses on and blonde hair loose, adorned in only a pink laced bikini. Slowpoke was on the end of the bed, Riolu sticking close as well. Alice really needed to think this challenge through, and hope her 'boyfriend' didn't come along to murder her before a solution could even be deliberated on. A mental lightbulb activating, Alice glanced to her Xtransciever. Maybe Danny could give her some gym advice?

Alice's surroundings were very pleasant. A cool breeze was blowing around, flowing through like a restless sea. Not uncommon this time of the day. The sun beat down with a steady heat, but nevertheless harsh. The sky was a cloudless one, offering no respite from the heat. A few Wingull hovered around, wings outstretched to catch hold of every air current, rising furthur and higher, but still keeping an eye out for any opportunities for food. A sudden gust of cool air moved towards Alice, lightly running it's fingers up her arm, pleasant and ticklish, much like a wreathing mist.

The area was otherwise deserted, save a couple of small children wandering around hand in hand. Siblings, by the look of it. Both sisters, one of them spotted Alice and pointed towards her, speaking to her sister in low eager tones. She nodded and both of them ran up. "Excuse me! We just got our pokemon today, would you battle us, big trainer?" "Yeah! Our parents gave them to use! They're tough!" They piped up.

(Commence battle against children! o3o Their dialogue is tricky though...)

Given her height, Alice was amused to be called a 'big trainer', but maybe her bust gave the age away. Or, perhaps, the duo had recognised her? Alice was a growing celebrity now, as it were. She sat up, Riolu looked cautious but intrigued, just as the trainer herself was, "Sure, I'd love to! You show me your Pokemon first and I'll match up with mine, okay?" She considered using Riolu, but it depended on the levels of the childrens' Pokemon. The young woman got up with a weary stretch, reaching for her bag. Slowpoke seemed content to snooze, so she'd probably leave him out of this given the battle he'd fought mere hours ago.

((Haha, really? Don't worry too much on it. Just remember that new dialogue should be on a new line, so.
'child one speaks on this line.'
'next person's speech on this line.'
:3))

(They were kinda-sorta speaking together so I thought it'd be appropriate. Ah well, thanks for the pointer :3)
(Also, why do you have a level 60 Deino? o.O')

"Mm!" One child drew a pokeball of which blue electricity was harmlessly sparking. She tossed it down and a Rotom burst out, now the sparks malignant. The other child, obviously softer spoken and quieter, dropped a pokeball, perhaps unintentionally, given the way she fumbled, and a Swalot appeared as soon as the sphere touched the ground.

((It's called the aggressive use of rare candies. I bought a hell of a lot off Wolfie and then used some others I gained as well. There were training posts, too. I decided strategically with candies to just throw them all at her, then work on leveling the next Pokemon, etc.))

Alice couldn't help but find the child's fumbling adorable, although their choices put her in a tight spot. She threw Clefairy out first, the moon Pokemon appearing in some bouncy footwork, enthusiastic to be battling once more. However, her next choice was tougher. In the end, she chose Pachirisu, whose fur was unusually pink in his stripe, but not shiny. They were close friends and a good team together, so it made sense.

"Alright, guys, they might be stronger but we can do this!" Alice decided, "Pachirisu, use toxic on Rotom! Clefairy, go for thunder wave against Swalot!" At her orders, the two Pokemon took off, attempting to afflict their opponents with status ailments.

(I'm so sorry! >.<' Your post strangely didn't show up. Once again, I apologize profusely. ;~;' )
(Also, just a question. Which is more reliable between Bulbapedia and Serebii? Because both show different movesets etc for the same pokemon. I'll go with Bulbapedia for this round.)

Both sisters squealed with excitement over the cute due Alice had just produced. The unusually coloured Pachirisu especially caught their interest and attention. But the quieter one held back noticeably, as though determined to not let anything get in her way, while her rambunctious sister made no secret of her feelings.

The Rotom and Swalot were ready. The agile Electric type dodged the Toxic, which unfortunately, or fortunately in this case, struck the struggling Swalot as it attempted to shuffle away from the weak electrical impulses. The Toxic was harmless to the Poison type, but it was paralyzed and rendered motionless. Far from immobile, the Rotom seemed to almost teleport forward in its eye-widening swiftness, and released a volatile, explosive blast of electricity which traveled all the way back to Swalot, inflicting some damage to the poor, stagnant creature, and should cause damage to both the opponents were it to connect.

The Swalot gained enough mobility to awkwardly, and if not stiffly, to slide forward and spit out a stream of poisonous Sludge at Pachirisu, with a 50% chance of poisoning it should it connect. The secondary abilities of both the attacks were similar to what Alice had done. Discharge had a 30% chance of paralyzing whoever it struck, but Swalot was eliminated from that chance, given that he was already paralyzed.

((-Throws things at you- xP I figured you'd lost muse or something! It's cool. And I always pick Serebii before Bulbapedia for that kind of thing.))

Alice grinned at the reaction from the girls, although this expression soon faded. She grit her teeth, surprised at their strategy. "Use quick attack to dodge, Pachirisu!" She called, her Pokemon getting out of the way in the nick of time. Pachirisu couldn't be paralyzed, and discharge did barely a thing. She was torn of what strategy to use, but decided to eliminate one problem after another.

"Clefairy, use psyshock on Swalot!" She ordered, her Pokemon trying to shake off the buzz from Rotom's attack. He ran forward, glowing blue as he went in for a super-effective, albeit physical strike, "Pachirisu, go for electro ball!" Her little squirrel was significantly faster than Swalot. It would be impossible to take it out in one turn, but Alice hoped this would deal enough damage to eat away significantly at its health. If they could vye for a second-turn victory against Swalot, then maybe 'ignoring' Rotom would have less consequences.

(*runs for cover* Bulbapedia is more convenient, not only the layout, but because Bulbapedia claims the pokemon have better moves XP)
(Are you following the Gen VI concept? Is Clefairy a Fairy type?)

Swalot, denied movement as he was, was struck head on by the psychic attack, and was pushed back, spared from confusion, and allowed to shake off the damage due to its bulkiness and defensive capabilities. (I always find Poison types to be kinda bulky.) But before the Electro Ball could connect, Rotom appeared in its path and practically absorbed the attack, getting away with little damage.

Seeing that Clefairy had moves super effective against both pokemon, they decided to copy the strategy and 'gang up' on him. Swalot, suddenly finding its feet underneath again, glided forward in the way of slime, an upon command released a thick, viscous and significantly more powerful and toxic stream of poison, Gunk Shot, at Clefairy, while Rotom, who was more suited to attacking both together, released an Uproar. The sound jarred Swalot, not hurting it, but making it sleepless.

((I am indeed. And lol I love and despise Swalot. Bulky thing.))

"Oh, bollocks." Alice uttered quietly, so as to not offend the ears of the small children. Riolu overheard, though, sensing the change in the frustrated trainer's aura as she got sucked in to the heat of battle. It worried him, reminded him of how snappy his former trainer could be, but there was still something about the small human which was different. Alice did not seem so ruthless or uncaring.

"Try to dodge the attack and use shadow ball to tear through it!" Alice bellowed desperately. Clefairy stumbled awkwardly backwards, shooting off a shadow ball of limited power that ripped through the gunk shot, sending acidic puddles everywhere. Some of it splattered the poor, whimpering fairy, who tried to wipe it off haphazardly as it sizzled painfully into his pink fur. Both Pokemon were shaken by the uproar (and Clefairy was not in the best state for another fright) but it was limited damage to what they could have suffered in comparison.

"Again! Clefairy, use psyshock and Pachirisu, you aim your grass knot at Swalot!" It was better than Rotom absorbing something electrical or putting her Pokemon in the way of a far more effective toxic attack. Clefairy once again, fearlessly, surged forward while Pachirisu hung back, summoning vines of grass from plants that decorated the deck. They increased in size and rushed for Swalot. Sure, it might be less effective, but that might be negated by how heavy the poison type was.

Rotom quickly came to Swalot's defense, attempting to blow Clefairy back with the second wave of Uproar, locked into the move. At least it wasn't causing any damage to the already battered Swalot. Swalot tried to slide forward to use another Gunk Shot, not particularly caring which of the targets to hit, it tripped over by the grass, all 80 kilos of it, and lay there, racked by paralysis.

Alice was getting more impatient as the fight wore on, but she understood why so many found battling addicting. She was thrilled by the challenge, as much as it was stressing her out. Clefairy was blown back, pulling down on his ears, "Clefairy, use ice beam with all the power you can!" She called. If it didn't strike Rotom, it would hit Swalot for sure, so the target didn't matter. She just hoped Rotom wouldn't block it. "Pachirisu, go in for electro ball again!" The strategy was chosen for if Rotom tried to take the electro ball, which would be effective given their difference in speed. If the ghost moved, Alice would immediately order Clefairy to go in for psyshock and Pachirisu to use swift. She just had to see what the Pokemon would do.

Rotom flicked its bolt-like appendages. It released its final turn for Uproar, shattering the Ice Beam as it came, dropping shards of ice everywhere. Perhaps if it had been a STAB move, it would have been unable to be blocked by Uproar. Nevertheless, Rotom was pleased with itself. Leaving Swalot shuddering on the ground for a minute to cover for it, it harmlessly absorbed the Electro Ball. It did more damage the larger the difference between the Speed, and not only was Rotom resistant to the electric move, it's Speed stat was nearly identical to the electric rodents.

By now, Swalot had struggled to it's indefinite feet, and flinched as the Psyshock struck, but still felt well enough to shoot a Sludge at Clefairy, followed by a Gunk Shot, while Rotom did a very good imitation at sniggering as the Swift harmlessly passed through it, while finding its mark on Swalot, who barely noticed it, going ahead with its attacks anyway. Rotom seemed to twirl before releasing a Shock Wave at Clefairy.

"Pachirisu, use endure and take the hits for Clefairy! Clefairy, bounce away and use minimize!" Alice called. Her Pokemon dashed to the aid of its friend with a quick attack, closing his eyes as his fur was doused in poisonous mucus. It was no surprise that it was poisoned, but apparently, that was Alice's plan all along. They needed to get at least one Pokemon taken down quickly, because otherwise Clefairy would be decimated.

Safe and somewhat smaller from the electrical assault, the trainer went in for a combination of pain, "Pachirisu, use facade on Swalot. Clefairy, psyshock!"

Swalot actually let out a cry, a strange hybrid sound not classifiable in terms of ordinary experience because the mod doesn't know what a Swalot sounds like. The Facade, along with the super effective psychic type attack, had struck it harder than it had initially thought. The Psyshocks were being a constant nuisance. Scratch that. A constant painful nuisance. It began wobbling like jelly, spineless as it was. Literally. It let out a huge Yawn, it's mouth stretching to its utmost extent to attempt to induce the Clefairy into sleep, while the Rotom flicked impatiently and released another Shock Wave, and another in quick succession at Clefairy. It's Yawn completed and without waiting to see if it struck or not, the Swalot, despite being injured, released a flow of Sludge and Gunk Shot at the Clefairy in succession before it froze up in paralysis.

Clefairy was going to fall asleep if she wasn't careful, and Alice needed to do something to remedy that. More and more poison was being piled painfully upon him, and he wasn't going to last. "Use wake up slap on yourself, Clefairy!" Alice ordered, and drowsily, the creature hit himself twice hard enough to just about get back on track. "Now, use psyshock again on Swalot! Pachirisu, use facade!" Her other Pokemon was suffering from the poison, too, and Alice was beginning to lose hope in this match. She had three badges from the Archipelago, but how would she fare in the final league battle after Mikan if she couldn't even beat two beginner girls? It was soul-crushing and humiliating.

The Swalot finally succumbed under the onslaught of the synchronized double attacks, crumpling down to a shapeless purple pile, and hastily withdrawn to his safe refuge, his pokeball by one of the siblings. Rotom seemed curios as to the sudden disappearance of his partner, but jumping at the opportunity, released a Discharge, now that there was no longer a partner to hurt by it anymore.

"Shit, Pachirisu, use dig and Clefairy, bounce up!" Alice called quickly. The two barely evaded the discharge, but now they still had the Rotom to worry about. Once Clefairy had landed again (Pachirisu couldn't so much dig through the floor as he could flatten himself to the floor and let his tail absorb most of the power), she ordered her fairy to use rollout. He obeyed, curling up and speeding after the ghost at an awesome rate, "Pachirisu, get Rotom with toxic and sweet kiss!" If they could badly poison and even confuse the ghost, they might actually have a shot.

Rotom, ever the mischievous ghost, snickered as the Rollout grazed it as it partially stepped out of the way, knowing that the next one would be stronger. It was quick in moving away from the Toxic, leaving a trail of blue sparks in its wake, but gladly accepted the Sweet Kiss as the move passed through it, not affecting the ghost. Normal moves didn't, you know. It took a breath before breaking into a Discharge, followed closely by Uproar.

Clefairy continued to roll, the discharge barely doing a thing with the momentum her fairy had. She was thankful for the fact, because this match was getting dangerously close to a loss. "Pachirisu, toxic and then gunk shot!" She ordered, aware of the suffering of the electrical squirrel. His speed was slowing, breaths ragged as sweat rolled down his white and pink fur. If they didn't close this soon, the match was done and the girls would win. Clefairy was whirring round again, chasing down Rotom to squash and knock the ghost around some more. Alice was panicking. She was desperate for this victory, but it just wasn't going her way. It would be a sheer miracle at this point.

(Why does your Pachirisu know Gunk Shot? And your Clefairy, Rollout? Bulbapedia says they can't have either ._.')

The Rotom cringed a bit as the second turn of Rollout struck it, causing a sizable chunk of damage to the Plasma pokemon. It dodged the Toxic, but not quite the same story for Gunk Shot. Nevertheless, resistant to Poison as it was, it was able to brush off the pain and the damage, thankfully not poisoned. It released it's second turn of Uproar.

((Then that's probably proof that you should stop using Bulbapedia. They're move tutor moves, earned through role play, one which was approved from a mod and the other an admin so I'm pretty sure it's fine.))

Thankfully for Clefairy, the hard rollout attack dulled the uproar to little more than background noise, albeit still irritating to the ears. What it did help with was finding Rotom so that Clefairy could more easily mow it down. Pachirisu, however, was finding it a nightmare. "Gunk shot, it doesn't matter if you can poison it or not. Just keep going!" Alice insisted. Pachirisu must have only had a turn or two left, and she had to make that count.

(D: Aw, but Serebii is so hard to use...)

The Rotom, having had enough of the Clefairy, moved out of the way of Rollout, right into the Gunk Shot. However, once again the resistance came into play and it was able to shake off the damage without any lingering or secondary effects. It released it's third and final turn of Uproar, as though sensing the Pachirisu's weakness.

((I find it far easier than Bulbapedia, and obv more accurate.))

One more turn, Alice thought, looking on to her weary Pachirisu. One more turn. It knew which move she wanted it to use, gathering more waste with its electricity before spitting it forth with a mighty, toxic belch. "Keep going, Clefairy!" She encouraged. The entire match was on Clefairy now, in her eyes. Rotom just didn't seem to be taking proper damage from Pachirisu's limited movepool. Her Pokemon carried on spinning, veering round with speed. Speed was of the essence here, the timer was counting down to the match's end.

(Really? I find having to search for the pokemon in the lists/finding their numbers and getting it down tedious.)

Rotom, gleeful in it's close and apparent victory, seemed to practically teleport out of the way of both attacks, leaving a trail of blue sparks in its wake again. Moving in a swirling motion, it started upon another Uproar, keeping a watchful eye upon the Clafairy.

Pachirisu had fainted by this point, but at least he had earned some experience from the Swalot. "Return." Alice gritted icily, Clefairy continuing to roll through the battlefield. "Keep going, Clefairy, just take it out!" She commanded, her Pokemon barely affected by the uproar as it went. All it was doing was using the noise to hone Rotom's location more accurately, and with his mounting speed, the ghost would surely find it harder to dodge. She was counting on this, it was her best plan to win.
