New Trainer

Ryvel had received his new pokemon Drago. After a hearty lunch, he was excited to begin. Ryvel ran upstairs and got dressed, with Drago sitting there awaiting their departure, Ryvel threw his clothes all over the room finding the best outfit. He didn't even realize he was throwing some all over Dratini's head. Dratini let out a small noise, and when he turned he saw Drago covered with clothes. He picked the clothes off, and the two laughed. "Sorry Drago, I am so excited, aren't you?" Dratini nodded and the two smiled. "Let's do it!" Ryvel shouted as he put his scarf around his neck. He left home in a hurry and headed for the town limits. The buildings started thinning out and before he knew it, he was almost out of Pallet. He was getting ready to leave Pallet Town when suddenly Professor Oak came running up holding a pokedex in his hand.

Ryvel smiled at the Professor who had rushed towards him all out of breath, "Don't worry professor, I couldn't have left without saying goodbye." Ryvel always admired Professor Oak even though he never spent time with him, he had heard of Oak's exploits in his young age and really wanted to be similar. "Besides, how can I become a trainer without your support?" Ryvel tapped Professor oak's shoulder, and gently hinted at the grass near them with a small pointing finger. "to be honest, I am a bit inexperienced, and afraid of the pokemon that lie in front of me, although I find them all amazingly cool." Ryvel hugged himself thinking of the one day he could fight alongside Pokemon in a masterful battle. Ryvel threw his fist into the air and screamed to the town "Watch out Pallet, Ryvel is bringing your name around the World!" Ryvel took his pokedex and offered the Professor a handshake.

Ryvel watched the battle from a careful distance. With stars in his eyes he could not believe what he was seeing. A trainer and a Pokemon's power together as one. He knew one day he was destined to be a great trainer. Ryvel opened his pokedex at the marvel of the two pokemon. Rattata he knew about already, but this other one was knew to him. He pointed the pokedex's eye at the pokemon and it spoke. "It is called “The Walking Jungle.” If a head grows too big, it falls off and becomes an EXEGGCUTE." Surprised, he could not believe one of it's heads falls off.

Watching the battle was a dream come true, he loved to watch pokemon. Fighting, playing, even just walking around. Pokemon are the coolest creatures in the world. After Exeggutor used hypnosis, Rattata fell asleep. At the point Ryvel just could not contain his excitement anymore. He jumped up and down cheering for the professor. The professor explained that once you have weakened the target pokemon, you may try to catch it. That is when Ryvel realized he wanted to catch so many pokemon. He had held many posters in his room about all the pokemon he loved the biggest being his dratini. He wanted to catch em all.

Ryvel could not wait any longer to begin his dream, and he was too excited. He decided now was as good a time as any to go. Ryvel waved at the professor as he turned his back."Well Professor, it's been real, now I'm off on the journey of a lifetime. I'll be in touch. Goodbye!" He shouted as he ran away into route 1.

Ryvel had taken off in a hurried fashion, with no clue on how to battle yet but having seen Professor Oak do it, he should be okay. Especially with his two new awesome pokemon. He looked at the pokedex, and realized he forgot to ask Professor Oak what to do with it. Well it must stand for pokemon index he thought, so maybe it was an index with all the pokemon stored, and he could learn about them. Ryvel opened the pokedex, and there wasn't any info on any pokemon. With the exception of two, dratini, and charmander. Why were they the only two in there? He got it, you have to capture the pokemon to get information on them. He walked further into route one.

All of a sudden a small pokemon appeared. It was brown with a white circle on its chest. It was standing upon its tail curiously looking around. "What the heck is that?" Ryvel said under his voice. He pulled out his pokedex and pointed the small camera towards the small pokemon. The pokedex began to talk. "Sentret, the scout pokemon, It has a very nervous nature. It stands up high on its tail so it can scan wide areas." It was then Ryvel realized how versatile pokemon were. They can do so many things. I suppose now is good a time as any to practice my trainer skills. He grabbed the pokeball from his belt, and it grew in his hand. He tossed it in the air, and shouted. "Come on out Draco, Let's Do It!" The pokeball opened and Dratini popped out with a ready look on its face. It nodded softly and spoke "Dratini!" He looked a the sentret and didn't know anything about it so he figured he should start with an light attack from a distant. "Draco use Thunder Wave!" Dratini released a large charge of electricity at the small pokemon.
