Arrival in Vermilion! Passing Through to Pewter!

Amber had the correct door, the members passing by sneaking a peak at her leaving before they returned to their business. It was a fact the officer would possibly be looking for Amber by then.

Amber sighed in relief and made her way out of the base. I've never been so glad to be outside again! All the stress and worry she had held back was finally blowing away with the cold breeze announcing the outside world. She didn't seem to be the only one with this thought, and Amethyst happily bounded through the empty grasslands around them, quickly followed by Azure. Ash sniffed out at the fresh, clean air, and Lavender stuck close by her trainer, periodically looking back toward the base with a look of curiosity as the group began to move away from it.

Though the trainer was expecting to see the officer as she headed toward town, the first living thing she ran into was none other than a Pokemon. A startled yip from Azure alerted her to it, and she curiously peered down toward a Skitty, who was happily clinging to the Kyansei's tail by her own teeth. The pup didn't have it in him to burn the little cat Pokemon to make her let go, and he was instead running in hurried circles in an attempt to throw her off. The Skitty's ears twitched as she heard Amber approach, and she let go of the poor wolf's tail. She bounded toward Amber, much to her surprise. This little guy seems friendly toward people, maybe she's a trainer's? she wondered as the Skitty jumped up and meowed for Amber's attention.

Not having a clue of what to do, all Amber did was pick the young Pokemon up and hold her. There wasn't another person in sight just yet, and the cat was being persistent. Now within the trainer's arms, the Skitty began to purr and nestle herself in Amber's arms, quickly falling asleep while making her claws cling to the girl's shirt: making sure she couldn't just let go and leave the Skitty.

"Well, erm, I guess you can come along until you find your owner..." Amber murmured toward the cat. The Pack eyed the Skitty with intermingled curiosity, and all four of them suddenly stuck closer to Amber as she entered town.

The officer had obviously been asking around town where Amber had went since quite a few people would stop her. "Hey, you know someone's been looking for someone like you, right," most spoke, others telling her a description of the officer. A few of the descriptions would be funny.

"Yeah, I figured," Amber replied to the stranger. She assumed that everyone that commented similar things to her didn't really keep tabs on the officer, so she didn't bother asking them where he had gone. Instead, she decided that the best way to be found would be to stay in the same spot and not make herself harder to find by moving around too much. Taking sight of a wooden bench near the center of town, she took a seat there and leaned back, exhaling a long sigh. "Feels good to sit back and relax, doesn't it?" Her Pack silently agreed, taking a seat in various places around her. Ash was laying at her feet, looking around for any sign of hostility from the town. Azure took his place next to him while Lavender and Amethyst jumped onto the bench next to Amber. While the Espeon made a couple of circles before curling into a tight ball, Amethyst wistfully eyed her trainer's lap, where the Skitty happily dozed. Finding it a lost cause to try and wrestle the cat out of her usual spot, Amethyst reluctantly curled up and pressed against Lavender's side.

Hours would pass without the officer showing up. Having lost hopes of finding Amber, he decided to just go about his business. Perhaps she would show up somewhere and he'd see her, perhaps she wouldn't.

Amber slowly blinked awake into darkness. She groggily rubbed her head and looked around with a dazed sort of demeanor. "I must've fallen asleep, crap," she murmured to herself. Getting to her feet, carefully lifting the still present Skitty off of her lap and onto the bench. She also gently nudged her Pack awake and looked toward the road heading away from the town. They all yawned, stretched, and got to their feet, waiting for Amber to lead the way.

As she moved from the bench, she glanced back toward the Skitty. "Sorry little guy," she said to her as she felt the little Pokemon stir out of sleep, "but we're leaving. Your trainer will find you if you wait here," she smiled encouragingly, but the cat had other hands. She got to her feet, jumped from the bench, and rubbed up against Amber's legs, purring. It seemed as if the Skitty wasn't leaving any time soon, and Amber couldn't just force her to leave if she didn't want to. "Follow if you want, then," she sighed, "but we're heading quite a way's away from here."

With her Pack at her heels and an additional, yet unexpected guest, Amber left the lights of Vermilion behind her. It would be a long trip to Pewter.
