Not Afraid (Craig Marshall Only)

The pikachu, suspectant that the charmander was faking this, prepared another quick attack. If it was a trap, it might get hit, but if it wasn't, and the charmander was still faking, it would be hit and surely faint. The pikachu was confident that this battle would be over soon anyway, so it might as well finish now.

Craig knew he had to do something to capture this Pikachu or he will have no chance to catch the foe if his Charmander faints. He obviously cannot fight the Pikachu on his own. Charmander quickly rolled and spitted small fireballs on the Pikachu as he kept rolling away. Craig quickly took out a miniature-sized Greatball from his pocket and pushed the button on the middle as it returned to its normal size and then he threw the ball to the Pikachu.

The pikachu was hit by the fireballs, but it had enough energy to make a jump to the side. Apparently it wasn't going to be caught that easily. It, once again, charged toward the charmander, attempting to use thundershock alongside a quick attack [in sequential order].

Charmander jumped to the side as well avoiding the Thundershock. Smoke came out from the Charmander's mouth as everything started to have zero-visibility. Both sides can't possibly see each other. "WHY?! WHY?!" thought Craig, now it will be harder for Charmander to dodge and move because of his own Smokescreen.

Even though the thundershock had missed, the pikachu was intent that the quick attack would hit. It swerved around, flying toward the charmander as it let out it's smokescreen. It was sure to land the quick attack before the smoke engulfed everything surrounding it.

Charmander got hit by the Quick Attack though he did not see it coming because of the smoke. He fainted and became the reason of Craig's first and early loss. As the smoke cleared out, Craig's eyes widened as he saw his Charmander down on the ground fainted. He rushed to his fainted Charmander and knelt. He picked up the tired Pokemon and rubbed his head. "My first loss came early... It's hard to swallow but don't feel bad Charmander, you and I did our best..." said the perfectionist. He took a Pokeball out and returned Charmander to avoid any more damage. He stood up and looked at the victorious Pikachu. He took another Pokeball out and placed it on the ground next to the electric mouse Pokemon. "This is crazy. You just defeated us which leaves me absolutely nothing to show you or even be worthy of you but will you join us and share your strength with us?" asked Craig as shame filled his emotions.

The pikachu watched the trainer pick up his charmander, telling it not to feel bad about the loss. After the trainer stuck the pokeball on the ground, and asked if it would travel with him, the pikachu thought through the situation. The trainer was kind, and wouldn't push his pokemon, and besides, he was practically begging it to go with him. The pikachu pushed the pokeball in response, and it was pulled into it. a few clicks later, and the pikachu was caught.

"He joined..." said Craig in relief. "HE JOINED!" shouted Craig with a smile. He picked up the Pokeball and returned it back to its slot and rushed to a nearby Pokemon Center.

After healing the fainted Charmander and the newly caught Pikachu, Craig decides to move on towards Viridian.
