Gemini twins both scratched their heads thinking what to do. "Passing time is boring, watching battles is fun." talked brothers with each other and then started running back to Nico. "Hey big bro, we are gonna cheer you on. Plusle and Minun don't use their cheers though, that wouldn't be fair." The boys didn't really know what to do in this city anyways. It was their first time in town other than Pallet after all.

Both of the boys looked at each other and then turned their eyes towards Nico again, "We haven't decided who we want to be yet. We travel around a little and then decide." said twins answering one of Nico's questions. "We don't really like doing one versus one battles but our Spinarak's need some training as well so yeah, we will battle you. I bet you could take two bug type in a row, specially since they aren't very strong yet."

"Nop it would be unfair, we fight tag but never 2 versus 1." said two boys being quite exited. Twins turned to each other and started playing rock-paper-scissor to decide who would go first. Since Gemi won on the first try he decided that his Spinarak was going to be the first to battle Growlithe. "Spinarak, time for our first match." said Gemi as he threw the pokeball on the field where Spinarak popped out.

Spinarak inspected the area around her and looked quite scared. Mini noticed it and released Female Spinarak's brother. After Gemi's Pokémon had seen him she calmed down imminently. "Lets get this show on the road?" asked Gemi without even waiting for answer. "Spinarak, use Poison Sting on Growlithe." Pokémon's reactions weren't the best probably because it was their first battle together but she let it rip, firing posion stings towards Growlithe.

Growlithe leapt to the side, avoiding most of the attack, but not quick enough to escape being hit in the back paw. The Pokémon used Roar, in it's anger, attempting to cow it's opponent long enough to recover. "You alright?" Nico inquired, to which he was answered by another Roar. "Alright then, use evasive maneuvers and then strike with Ember."

The wounded and enraged Pokémon leapt all around in increasingly elaborate and random patterns before unleashing Ember from all sorts of strange angles. He was fast, but due to his holding his back right paw above the ground, Growlithe's speed was severely limited.

"Try to dodge as many as you can from that spot." said Gemi to the Pokémon. If Spinarak would have stayed calm and carefully watched she could probably have kept an eye on Growlithe speed pretty easily since he wasn't all that fast but instead of that Spinarak seemed a little bit confused and started running around, dodging from her hardest. Still some specks of ember hit her and dealt super effective damage. 'That Spinarak doesn't seem very used to battle yet.' thought Gemi. "Spinarak, use Scary Face with a String Shot on top." Spinarak understood that and tried to make as scary face as possible while also shooting out white string from it's mouth towards Growlithe. Gemi was little worried about his Pokémon, 'It wasn't good idea to do my first battle with Spinarak against a stronger fire type.'

Gemi examined the situation carefully. Spinarak didn't really have an attack to finish the battle, she could only keep on causing some minor damage from time to time while on the other hand Growlithe had a perfect move to finish the battle. As Growlithe shot his ember towards Spinarak while he was still using String Shot Gemi commanded, "Spinarak leave the web, jump away and use Poison Sting." Spinarak trusted Gemi this time around and cut off the string coming from its mouth, quickly moved to the left so Growlithe was nicely in his range of sight and shot a barrage of Poison Stings towards him.

"Spinarak, quickly run away!" told Gemi to the Spinarak. Pokémon quickly turned away and started running away, when suddenly a strong pain struck her bottom. Growlithe had bite her good and Spinarak was really weak. "Spinarak, String Shot!" said Gemi. Although Spinarak was already quite weak from the attacks he shot her string from behind her, aiming it right into Growlithe's mouth which was still around Spinarak.

"Nice job Spinarak." said Gemi as red beam of light sucked Spinarak in before the ember could hit her. "I don't really like to lose but the next attack would have putted Spinarak out anyways and I don't want to make her scared of fighting." said Gemi with a slight smile on his face. "Mini, you are up." Other boy nodded and let his spinarak out of the pokeball. "You still want to go?" asked Mini.

Mini looked at the Spinarak, then at Growlithe. "You need to practice a lot before taking on the Gym Leader, I think he is twice as good as us plus I heard Pewter is a Rock-type Gym so your Growlithe has a disadvantage." spoke Mini raising his shoulders, "Anyways let's get this on then, Spinarak, scary face please." Mini's spinarak used scary face. His Pokémon seemed much more confident.

Spinarak's defense decreased but then Growlithe did something Mini dind't expect. Growlithe's roar forced Mini to switch out his Pokémon on the very first turn. Spinarak and Minun switched places in the battlefield, "Hey Hey mister, why did you do that." asked Mini. "If you made a mistake I can switch back to my Spinarak."

Mini kept a close eye on Growlithe movements and so did Minun. "Minun, use Growl and just like Growlithe stay moving." Minun did as he was told, decreasing her opponent's attack while moving around.

Mini watched the battle, for him the biggest threat was Growlithe's ember. "Minun, dodge." Growlithe was fast, probably faster than Minun but because the Pokémon was injured Minun could easily dodge the Ember attack by jumping to the left. "Minun attract." At the moment Mini had no real reason to use that move, he just wanted to see how Growlithe would react to it. Minun started flirting with Growlithe.

Minun was fooling around the whole time, just hopping from one place to another and even dancing a little. Mini only smiled about it and Gemi was little amused as well.

"Dodge." commanded Mini but since Minun was too into her dancing she got hit a lot. Minun was still able to stand and wasn't going down just from taking one hit. The pokemon smirked at Growlithe, showing that she wasn't going to lose. "Minun Thunder Wave and follow it up with Quick Attack." Minun already started moving a little and used Thunder Wave on Growlithe, as soon as that was done she rushed towards the opponent at very high speed trying to tackle him.
