Burton's first gym battle

Quagsire pulled up on shore, panting and stretching. He flopped over. Burton returned him.
"Great work, Quagsire," he said to the Poke Ball, knowing Quagsire could hear him. He turned and faced the city. There was a map nearby with all the city's buildings marked. Burton, Mew and Charmander hurried over to it. After a few seconds there was a "Char!" from below and Charmander was pointing at a small square that said 'Gym'.
"Thanks. Let's go!" said Burton, striding away. After several minutes' walk, one loss of direction and too many groans they turned a corner and stopped abruptly; the Gym was right there.
"Finally!" said a relieved Burton. He walked up to the doors and shoved one of them. It swung open and Burton marched confidently inside. There was a healing counter in the corner and Burton used it on all of his Pokemon then approached a tall, spikey-haired man whose eyes were shut tight.
"Brock, I challenge you to a battle!" he shouted, pulling out Quagsire's Poke Ball.

Brock smiled"ok i accept ill go first"Brock then sent out a geodude

As the Geodude was released from his pokeball, Lucas entered the gym. He saw that a pokemon battle was just beginning and intuited that it was likely for the badge. Sure enough, he saw the gym leader, Brock, with a facial expression that implied thought, minimal concentration (probably because battles were so routine to him), and the expectation of victory. Lucas saw this as a great opportunity to observe the gym leader before battling him. He looked toward the challenger, whose name he had not yet heard, to see what pokemon he'd use.

Burton saw the newcomer but took no notice; people watched other people's gym battles all the time.
"Quagsire!" said Quagsire determinedly when his Poke Ball was opened.
"Alright, Quagsire, let's go. Use Water gun!" Quagsire puffed up his cheeks then shot out a stream of water at Geodude's face.

it hit and geodude used rock throw

"Quagsire do something to those rocks to get rid of them," Burton called, expecting Quagsire to use something like Mud Bomb or Water Gun. But noooo, Quagsire had to use Slam on the rocks hurtling towards him. It was a critical hit and Quagsire looked momentarily stunned.
Burton smacked himself in the forehead.
"Quagsire, use Surf on Geodude." A great wall of water built up underneath Quagsire. It crashed forwards toward Geodude.

Geodude got on a boulder then used defense curl

Geodude and Quagsire battled back and forth. A water-type pokemon, Lucas thought. That's the same plan I was going to use. It's looking like a good battle. That Geodude was quick enough to evade the surf attack. The Quagsire doesn't seem all too bright, but his trainer seems to have a good handle on all this. Lucas continued to watch intently.

"Quagsire, use Water Gun on that boulder," said Burton, pointing at the boulder Geodude was on. His plan was to knock the boulder out from under Geodude then hit Geodude with the Water Gun as it fell past and finally to let Geodude hit the ground and sustain damage.

(er its a boulder,and sorta part of the ground,water gun doesnt hurt human you think this is really gonna work?)

It hit the boulder but geodude was getting hit with the splash of the water(gave you something from notihing your welcome)but geodude used rock throw

The rock hit Quagsire full in the face and Quagsire fell backwards. He was getting weaker.
"Try Water Gun again, Quagsire," said Burton, disappointed that the rock hadn't moved, "but this time aim at Geodude instead."

(Bump)

The Rock Throw hit and Quagsire's health dropped rather significantly.
"Quagsire, use Surf again. Make it count!" called Burton from behind Quagsire. Quagsire rose up on a wall of frothing water. It surged forwards and cascaded down, crashing straight towards Geodude. Quagsire was up on top, bellowing, "QUAAAAAAAAAAAGSIIIIIIRRRRRE!"

Geodude looked at it like"oh crap"then got hit and fainted.Brock then sent out onix who used tackle

Quagsire was hit and knocked to the ground. He almost couldn't get up but managed in the end.
"Alright, Quagsire, that worked well. Try it again," said Burton, more nervous than he let on. Quagsire closed his eyes for a beat before willing a wall of water to rise up underneath himself which surged forward again, this time at Onix. He was silent as he did it; he seemed to be conserving the little energy he had left.

Onix then used its tail to seperate the wave and try to hit quagsire to the roof with its tail,it did suffer damage from this though

Quagsire was knocked to the ground and didn't stand up. Burton returned him.
"Thanks, Quagsire. You did good. Okay, Watchog, it's your first battle!" he shouted the last part, throwing Watchog's Poke Ball to the ground.
"Use Confuse Ray!" Watchog stood up straight, then with a "Waaatch!" it sent an a yellow ball of light Onix's way.

Bumpity

onix got hit and was confused,but used rock throw

The rock smashed hard into Watchog, knocking him to the ground.
"Use Low Kick," Ad-libbed Burton.

It hit and onix took severe damage,but used another rock throw

"Wow, that worked well," noted Burton.
"Low Kick again!" Watchog sprang up to Onix and swept low with his foot.

Onix dodged and used another rockthrow

(Low Kick's accuracy is 100. Watchog's accuracy hasn't been lowered and Onix's evasiveness hasn't raised at all. Onix shouldn't have been able to dodge that. I don't really care, but try to be more mindful of this. Y'know, I'm gonna post this in announcements. On a side note, you know the power of this is 120, right? And it's super effective... That coupled with the fact that Watchog is 6 levels higher and Onix has been beaten up a bit already... I'm just sayin'.)
Watchog's health was depleted greatly by now, but Burton was determined.
"Come on, Low Kick one more time!"
