(Remake 2) Pokemon Adventures - Episode II: A Time for Preparation!

Kana raised an arm in the air as she cheered for joy! Darkflare grunted as he nodded in approval while his trainer walked over to the pokeball with the poochyena inside. Once Kana picked up, it gave a glow and vanished. At first, Darkflare was confused on what happened, but when he sharply turned to his trainer, he saw that she had a kind smile as she looked at the houndour.

"Don't worry, Darkflare. Poochyena was just transferred back to the Pokemon professor, Professor Elm. But don't you worry, Professor Elm takes really good care of pokemon." Kana explained.

Darkflare snorted but grunted at his trainer. For deep inside, Darkflare was starting to trust her while Aipom bounces around all happily. FlowerChic swung her leaf around as she smiled as Viho nodded and GatorClaw 'n' MonsterClaw danced around that they got a new friend. Then Kana and her pokemon gathered as they searched for trainers to battle as they needed to prepare for the tournament.

A boy dressed all in black, including a bandanna, came into view leaning against a tree. His eyes were redish brown in color and his hair was a pale white color. An Umbreon accompanied him, sitting by the tree next to him. Although he looked powerful, he was actually somewhat an amateur. He came from a powerful fighting family, from which there were many powerful trainers. He had hoped to join his family's glory as well, and so decided to fight to become stronger. A tough opponent, but nothing that Kana didn't have a chance to beat.

Kana spotted the trainer and she thought for a sec. To her, it looked like this trainer had been looking for a fight or a battle. She noticed that the trainer had an Umbreon with him. Her pokemon took notice and they became interested with the trainer and his pokemon. Kana looked down at her pokemon and she could see that they were interested. With that, Kana walked over to the trainer and his pokemon.

"Hey." Kana called out.

The boy turned to face Kana head on. After her greeting, he seemed to be judging her. Eyeing her up and down, he seemed to be trying to evaluate her skills as a trainer simply by looking. Of course this was impossible, but he would have been able to tell roughly how new she was to battling based on some subtle clues. After assessing her he decided to speak back to her. "Hey there, are you by any chance a trainer?" he asked.

"You bet I am. My name is Kana Gallosilk and this is my pokemon team." Kana answered as she introduced her pokemon and herself.

Kana's pokemon stood behind her as each one of them did a different pose, But not DarkFlare. He just turned his head away as he snorted. But DarkFlare still glanced an eye at the trainer's umbreon.

The Umbreon stared at DarkFlare, not with a malevolent look, more of just an 'I'll keep an eye on you' look. Umbreon had been trained to be vigilant, which was the reasoning behind it. It wasn't just eyeing DarkFlare either, it was keeping quite a close watch on most of her Pokemon. Meanwhile, the boy seemed to be rapidly trying to intake all of the information he could gather and estimate about the Pokemon. He then looked up. "I'm Hunter. I see you must be relatively new to training, same as me. I'd say that would make a fair battle, one on one, what do you think?" he asked. Umbreon seemed to be slightly preparing itself for battle, shown when it stood up on all fours and seemed to look alert.

DarkFlare just growled at the umbreon when GatorClaw came over to him as he tried to tell Dark Flare to calm down. Dark Flare just snorts but he calmed down anyway. Meanwhile, Kana put on a smirk as she wanted to accept the challenge.

"Fair enough, I accept your challenge. Now, who to pick..." Kana said as she takes a look at her pokemon.

Kana hadn't thought for long as DarkFlare ran forward until he stood in front of his trainer. Kana looked at DarkFlare as did the other pokemon. But Kana could see the fire in DarkFlare's eyes and she smiled before she turned to the trainer.

"Alright, my pokemon choice will be my Houndour, DarkFlare." Kana said as she stood ready.

The boy smiled. "A Dark type Pokemon... Just like my Umbreon. Let's begin, then," he said, calling forth his Umbreon with his hand. The Umbeon stood tall and alert. It may have been a few levels lower than the Houndour that stood before it, but it was very skilful, and was fully evolved, a rare thing for something of its level. The boy then put his finger forward. "Umbreon, Dark Pulse," he said. Umbreon lowered its head slightly and fired a black and purple spiralling beam towards BlackFlare from the yellow ring on its forehead.

DarkFlare takes the attack head on, which made him skid back but not by much as it was not very effective. Dark Flare stares at the umbreon as he awaits for his trainer's command.

"DarkFlare, use Leer and then follow it up with Ember!" Kana said.

DarkFlare grunted as he narrowed his eyes into a harsh leer at Umbreon. Then DarkFlare opened his mouth as a fiery glow formed into an ember inside and he launched forward at his opponent. Behind them, Kana's pokemon cheered for their trainer and DarkFlare. Especially Aipom, who looked like he was doing a cheer chant for the two.

"Umbreon, Sand Attack then Tackle!" cried the boy.

Umbreon began to swipe at the attack from the ground, flinging streaks of sand at the Ember. The flames were then extinguished. A cloud of dust from the sand arose from the ground, concealing Umbreon from the view of DarkFlare and Kana. Suddenly, Umbreon emerged from the cloud, hurtling towards DarkFlare at a fast pace. It was using Tackle.

Again, DarkFlare took the attack head on as he skidded back, but once again shook it off. He turns to Umbreon as he glares while snarling at it.

"Keep calm, DarkFlare! Use Howl and then use Ember again!" Kana commanded as she was keep herself from having DarkFlare use Smog.

Once again, DarkFlare grunts before he lifted his head in the sky as he unleashed a Howl, which raised his attack. Then he brings his head forward before he opened his mouth as he once again unleashed more embers at the Umbreon.

The boy chuckled slightly. "They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing twice expecting different results... Umbreon, Sand Attack."

The Umbreon repeated the process and began to whip up sand at the flames from the ground. Once again a cloud of dust formed, obscuring Umbreon from view. Suddenly Umbreon emerged from the cloud, heading at DarkFlare head on with a Tackle attack. It was a surprise attack, Umbreon had known to attack with the need for Hunter to instruct it.

This time, DarkFlare didn't skid back, but he landed on the ground when he flew back. DarkFlare got up, but when he did, he sent a threatening glare at Umbreon as he snarled viciously. This got The totodile brothers to become scared when they heard DarkFlare's vicious snarl.

"DarkFlare! Calm down! Try to keep your eyes and ears open to listen for your opponent and attack with-" Kana started.

But before Kana could finish, DarkFlare's eyes shrunk as he became angry and aggressive. Kana gasps as DarkFlare ran at Umbreon before opening his mouth as he was about to unleash the poisoned smog! This caused Kana to become scared as well.

'DarkFlare has gone out of control!' Viho exclaimed.

"DarkFlare! No! Don't use Smog!" Kana called out.

But DarkFlare ignored his trainer's words as he sent out the smog straight at Umbreon. But he wasn't done yet, DarkFlare unleashed a louder Howl to raise his attack and then mixed the smog with dangerous embers into the poisonous gasses!

"DarkFlare!" Kana called as this started to become out of hand.

The flaming gas shrouded around Umbreon, there wasn't much to do, it's impossible to dodge gas so it just had to wait for it to pass. The gas hit Umbreon and it squealed slightly, shutting one eye. Small flames then passed through the gas and hit Umbreon, causing it to let out a "Breeeee..." The Smog kept coming, and Umbreon couldn't do anything. Hunter grunted, frustrated with the situation. "Grr... Use Sand Attack to blow it away!" he shouted. Umbreon began to whip up sand, extinguishing the flames. The action then began to turn into a more swiping motion, sending the poisonous gas from Smog towards DarkFlare, which in turn also blew the gas away from Umbreon, although a significant amount of damage had already been done to Umbreon.

Kana just stares in fright and sorrow as she now knew that Umbreon became poisoned by the smog mixed with the flames of the ember. She reaches for DarkFlare's pokeball, but then DarkFlare attacks again by using leer and then ember at Umbreon. This caused Kana to shout out in fright when she saw DarkFlare attacking without her commands again. Viho watched from the sidelines before he fluttered to Kana and he landed on her shoulder.

'You must call him back, he is getting out of control!' Viho exclaimed through his mind.

The trainer chuckled slightly again, regaining his confidence slightly. "Not this again. Umbreon, Sand Attack,"

Umbreon immediately flung sand from the ground, extinguishing the flames. This time the attack seemed to stronger however, more aggressive, which mean that some of the flames survived the sand. Umbreon was hit and took slight damage, but nothing too great as he extinguished some of it. Once again, he emerged from the cloud of dust and broke into a Tackle attack, heading straight at Houndour. It was getting a little repetitive now, but hey, if it works, why change it.

Once again, Darkflare Flew back, but not by much, as he crashed on the ground. But DarkFlare got back up as he gave Umbreon a threatening 'n' Dangerous glare with the pupils in his eyes now tiny slitted pupils while his growls and snarls became threatening 'n' dangerous as well. This got Kana to become scared as her eyes filled with fear while staring at DarkFlare that was now starting to act like an out of control enraged pokemon. Then Kana screams as DarkFlare runs at Umbreon as he used Howl to raise his attack and then used Leer to lower Umbreon's defense. Then DarkFlare jumped as he used Smog mixed with Ember again, without his trainer's command. Viho and The Totodile Brothers watch as GatorClaw and MonsterClaw wondered why their trainer hadn't called DarkFlare back to his pokeball, but Viho knew why.

'No...Miss Kana has become consumed with fear! She is too scared!' Viho exclaimed through the mind.

Once again Umbreon was unable to conmpletely defend. It tried to use the Sand Attack technique to blow it away again, but by the time it had managed to clear the air around it, it had taken way too much damage, and probably could have fainted if someone so much as poked it. It growled at DarkFlare. "Grr... Umbreon, Dark Pulse let's go!" cried the trainer. Umbreon jumped up and released a dark purple and black beam from the yellow ring on its forehead as it did before, however this time it seemed to be filled with a lot more power. It seemed Umbreon was putting all of its energy into one final burst, as the trainer knew as well as Umbreon that it was on the very edge of defeat.
