Off Into Adventure!

Ivy threw open the front door, a grin on her face. Today was the day, she was finally going to be a Pokemon trainer! With Spike, her Sandshrew, at her side, she headed out the door. It was a warm, sunny day with a nice breeze. Today was going to be a good day.

As she headed from her house towards Elm's lab, she almost considered not even stopping by, as she was simply too excited to wait around in a dingy old lab. But, she knew it was necessary, and remembered that there she would receive a rare Pokemon. But do I want Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile? Would it be grass, water, or fire that she chose?

"Well, come on, Spike," she said to the ground-type, and it happily followed her into the building as she pushed open the door. Inside it was actually nicer than she first thought, everything was clean rather than dusty and old like she had imagined. Ivy called out, "Er- Hello? I'm here to get a Pokemon."

The pokemon professor was in the back working in a part of his lab. All around him were tubes with fluids that were in all colours of the rainbow. He was so in concentration trying to get one drip of yellow glistening fluid in a kind of purplish ghostish coloured one. When he heard the voice call he accidently let half of the orange in the purple and a small explosion sounded through the lab as the professor got away from the room coughing and whiping his face with his lab coat before looking up his short brown hair staying perfectly in shape.

''Ah you must be Ivy'' He said in a coughing tone as he looked at the ground pokemon that was next to her. ''And this is your partner pokemon spike am I correct?'' He said sitting on his knees looking at the small sandshrew before standing back up. ''Well follow me to the three starter pokemons'' he said smiling as he led her to the room where the explosion had happened. The walls were blackened due to the explosion as he came to the room he gasped.

''Oh no'' He said croughing under the table. If you would look over his shoulder you could see that the pokeballs had opened and that the pokemon were nowhere to be found. ''Ah I am such a clumsy one I didn't notice that the pokeballs fell of the table when the explosion happened. '' He said as he stood up before looking at Ivy. '"Would you mind help me look for them? Chikorita is mostly a bit shy and scared so she wouldnt have gone far. Cyndaquil is allways the lazy one who likes to be cuddled so I think he is probably out in the sun on the grass sunbathing, but totodile is the more adventurious and he might have gone into the woods, so would you mind helping a clumsy professor?'' He said smiling to Ivy and sandshrew.

"Uh, sure thing, Professor!" Ivy replied, a bit startled at the request. She looked around at the clutter throughout the lab, and wasn't too surprised that the Pokemon had gotten out. "Er- I guess I'll go out and look for that Totodile, since he probably went the farthest." Ivy glanced back at the Prof. for approval.

The professor looked at the girl and smiled nodding that it was a good choice she had made. ''He is probably in the woods, it is a small area and he shouldn't be that hard to find.'' He said as he saw a glimps of green and found the chicorita, huddled in the corner of the room as he got some pokeblock and began to get it out as it easily worked and he got her up and placed her on the table putting her on a soft couchen where she went to sleep. ''Now I just got to find cyndaquil'' He said hopefull as he looked outside checking if he saw the small fire pokemon under the shadow from a tree or maybe just sunbathing on the grass near the big pond with a few water pokemon in it.

"Well, alright!" Ivy said, trying to sound optimistic. "Come on, Spike, lets go find Totodile." Spinning around, she hurried back out of the lab from where she had entered, Spike running after her on all fours. The forest, huh?

Ivy walked away from the building, seeing the treeline of the forest not too far in the distance from New Bark. With Spike at her side as always, she quickly walked in its direction, all the while calling out for the runaway Pokemon. "Totodile! Where are you? Come on, Totodile!" Spike let out little cries as though trying to help his trainer.

When she reached the little forest, she picked up Spike, carrying the Pokemon in her arms as she walked in, looking around as she continued calling out for the water-type. Where could he be?

The pokemon professor now went outside and it didn't took him very long before he found the small cyndaquil which was at the small pond sunbathing as he took it up and returned it to his pokeball before he gave a quick look in the forest. It was a pretty nice forest, the trees werent too close to each other so there was a lot of light and it wasn't big which meant that totodile wouldn't be hard to find as he hoped that the girl who was now looking for the totodile had found the small water pokemon.

A blue pokemon laughed in his own way and looked from around one of the trees. The pokemon professor of this region had forgot to tell her that the pokemon was playfull and likes to play with the people looking for it. He picked up a small rock throwing it at her before running behind another tree. the most people would fall for it and go check on the other tree thinking he would have been hiding from there and that that had been the direction he would have come from.

Ivy heard a snicker come from a tree behind her as a small rock hit the back of her head. "Ow!" She protested, whirling around just in time to see the water-type hop into another tree. "Hey, Totodile! Come down from there!" For a moment, she wished Spike knew how to climb trees. That would make this a whole lot easier.
