Setting out

Nicky grabbed her messenger bag off the hook that was hanging on the wall beside the door, slinging it over her shoulder. It was where she kept all of her belongings; her money, items, a fresh change of clothes. She was going to need all this, because today was the day she finally set out to explore the world and all its wonders.

Hazel, her roommate, was not home at the time, so Nicky left her friend a goodbye note, thanking her for allowing her to stay in her small house. Nicky strapped on her belt with her Poke Balls attached to it in circular sockets, containing her two partners, Leafeon and Trapinch.

With that, she decided she was ready to go. Veridian was a nice place, but Nicky was ready to see the world. She opened the door and headed outside into the bright, sunny morning.

She was dressed in her usual tomboy outfit, a boyish t-shirt and shorts. Only a few people noticed her passing by, and waved to her.

Nicky's next destination was, however, Viridian Forest. She had trained there many times and often went through to Pewter to pick up stuff for the coffee shop she had been working at.

Though she could probably make it through very quickly, she wanted to take her time, hopefully battle and possibly catch a wild Pokemon or two so that she could challenge the Pewter Gym. While she was sure that Leafeon would be able to take out the leader's Pokemon, she didn't want to leave anything to chance.

With that thought in mind, Nicky headed into the thick forest, keeping a sharp eye out for any opponents.
