Battle Style: Beta is a very positive and cheerful person. She is also rather laid back, goofy and careless. Due to a mental disorder she had as a child, Beta still sometimes feels very uneasy about facts and science as seen in her understanding that pokemon and aura is magic and absolute refusal to accept any other opinion. She doesn‘t force this opinion on others but may simply voice it if asked. She also believes in the best in people, believing that all people are nice and if they behave bad, they have very solid reasons for that. Even when she‘s been burnt very often by that belief, she absolutely refuses to stop believing in friendship, love and moral values. Since Beta believes that pokemon and their powers are magical in origin and are granted upon selected people who can obtain them, she believes that it is her duty to be a good trainer and help the people that do not possess said "magic". If there are things that make Beta angry and change her attitude towards people it‘d have to be when trainers use the powers granted to them by their pokemon against people who can‘t defend themselves. This usually makes Beta throw her cheer and happiness out the window and she becomes more serious and concentrated. Beta absolutely refuses to take a life as well. Whether it‘s a civilian or a trainer or a pokemon, Beta would not take a life away unless it was absolutely necessary, being a firm believer of equivalent exchange in the world. This belief comes from Beta‘s understanding that the magic of life cannot be taken away with the "magic" of pokemon which was given to defend people or accomplish tasks impossible without them. Beta is very selective when it comes to food, but only when other people see her. When she is alone, she may eat anything that comes to mind, but around others she may act more refined in her tastes and food selection. She is also a rather good cook herself, having expressed great interest in the matter since she sees it as similar thing to the magic of pokemon. Beta loves cooking, even growing past it just being an amateur hobby, but instead something she (seldom, but none-the-less) takes commissions for. Beta absolutely hates anything concerning political things or paperwork in general as she finds these topics incredibly boring and stupid. Despite her lack of knowledge in scientific terminology when it comes to pokemon, Beta could almost be called a genius in her knowledge of farming and botany. Scientifically, Beta is actually pretty accomplished in most branches. The branches include most of the exact sciences such as astronomy, maths, human biology, and botany due to her extensive practices as a farmer and student. Beta is rather popular with the people around Sinnoh due to her helpful personality and her skills as a farmer. Beta rarely refuses to help when she is asked unless it is something normally considered illegal. This trait that has greatly annoyed her parents in the past due to her being off somewhere helping someone instead of working on the farm, but they had easily grown more used to it as she matured and managed her time more wisely. Beta is very much fixed on her promises and probably incapable of lying as she views a word rather seriously. Beta is also an incredibly sympathetic and warm person capable of understanding any person and sometimes even going as far as justifying the cause of her opposing side simply because she understands it. That does not mean she is prone for betrayal, however, as even if she understands the other side, Beta will do whatever is in her power to accomplish whatever goal she set for herself. Beta has set it in stone to help the people that do not possess or understand the "magic" of pokemon. When it comes to love, Beta has never believed in falling in it. When she first met her husband, she never actually felt this deep trance in which her heart was melting for him like most say. As she got to know him, she slowly chose to love him, and love him deeply. She is a generally loving person, but her husband is the one who gets to see her warmest inmost being of generosity, devotion, and care. She doesn't live for him, but she explores and discovers and trains for him. He is her one true love, if she was stating romantically. Past Experience/History: - Arc One:
Beta was born in to an average family; her father is a breeder and a farmer, and her mother works in a cafe in Eterna. Just as she was born, the medics noticed something wrong with her and she was monitored by said doctors for a few years before the problem was diagnosed. Beta suffered from a mental disorder which was only documented a handful of times before in the whole world; the girl was incapable of processing scientific facts and link them to actual parts of reality, which would in turn cause a person being incapable of understanding how most things work. The few people recorded with this disorder managed to have normal lives, as it is something that the patient typically grows out of, but their lack of analytic and proper logical skills sometimes stick around, often making them incapable of doing most jobs; a trainer being one of them. The family was a little startled and rather depressed by the news.
Beta‘s early childhood was rather sad and empty. The child grew incapable of any amount of intellectual understanding such as how things are made or how pokemon evolve, and was constantly made fun of by other children. A couple years later, on her seventh birthday, the year Beta became old enough to enlist in the Poke Academy, her father noticed her talking to something and Beta explained her father she was speaking with "Captain" as he must have been the smartest person around, having made everything. Beta‘s father was astounded as the child managed to come up with her own explanations for things she shouldn't be able to understand, which, after some practice, helped her bond more with her peers, as children didn't care if Beta thought that Arceus (which she was told was "Captain's" name) made everything; they only cared that she isn't a blank silent slate without her own opinion.
At one point Beta truly became aware of the existence of pokemon and their powers and her mind was completely incapable of understanding how that worked. She once again became enclosed and introverted, often her parents found the child meditating and speaking to herself. They initially thought she had gone insane, immediately alerting the doctors who in turn replied with the idea that Beta needed to be able to understand at least one truth in order to begin to grow. Beta, by the age of nine, was being taught how to cook and farm, and was actually beginning to formulate ideas and facts about the world. She lost grip of her disorder and began to realize the sciences of earth. The only idea she held on to from her disease was that pokemon are magical beings. Thinking that magic must be the only explanation for pokemon, Beta grew up cherishing the life of the special beings and being absolutely amazed by them. Beta‘s mind was blown and the girl focused on it for the rest of her life, even if she couldn't tell science from magic when it came to the creatures.
- Arc Two:
Beta was actually ridiculously talented in agriculture and botany by age 15. When it came to school, she always performed well on any paper tests and was able to complete the tasks she was requested to perform around Eterna. After some basic tests at the medical center over the years, Beta managed to truly escape the doctor's machines and shots, and medics were absolutely astounded. She wasn't the first to overcome the disorder, but she was the first to do so at such a young age.
The day she officially checked out from being a regular patient at the hospital, her parents took her to catch her first pokemon. Her father brought along a couple buddies and one of their sons. Beta didn't pay much attention to him until after she caught her first pokemon; a Miltank. She loved it very much and immediately named her Magique Premièra ("Magical First"), but simply calls her Maggy for short. It wasn't until the scrawny boy that accompanied them came up to congratulate her that she really noticed him. She thought he was the prettiest boy she had ever seen. She felt butterflies in her stomach, but she knew it was just her first reaction to a cute boy.
Over the years she spent more and more time with him. They grew extremely close and she knew that she loved him. When she was twenty years old, Beta was proposed to in Snowpoint City at Lake Acuity. She squealed out a yes as her fiance slipped on her golden ring, with a ruby stone in the shape of a star in the middle. Tears welled up in her eyes and they kissed several times in the lightly falling snow. Too romantic if you asked her, but Beta had a soft spot for "magical" moments.
- Arc Three:
Two years since the young couple had been engaged, and one year since they had been married, Beta comes running into the kitchen, placing a kiss on her husband's cheek and letting a giggle escape her lips. She smiled up at him as he questioned her sanity at the moment. "I want kids." is all she whispered in his ear. His eyes widened for a moment before they softened and he smiled. Beta smiled back, but then her cheeks puffed out and her eyebrows furrowed in deep thought.
"But I want out children to be special. I don't know exactly where we should make these children!?" She twirled around, continuing to think out loud as her husband blushed. "Aha! I have an idea! I say we both travel around the world, meeting new people and exploring. We'll start on opposite sides of Sinnoh until we meet again. When we meet, we'll exchange our badges or new pokemon or whatever! And then... only then.. our child can be made. He, or she, will be born into the world with our gathered knowledge of the happiness and charity of our great region. Whaddya say?" Beta finally finished, out of breath.
Her husband had to take it all in at first, but then he grinned wide and nodded. He pulled her in and kissed her deeply. He mumbled an "of course" and the next day they were packing. It was abrupt, but they were a quirky and wild enough couple that this was just the right thing for them. Exploration, adventure, and an absolutely irrational and strange way of having a child.
This is where Beta's adventure truly begins.

She gets long very well with Beta and loves to be her pokemon. The Miltank does enjoy battling, however, and can sometimes get bored when Beta goes without battling for a while (Beta being someone who typically enjoys other aspects of life other than pokemon). But she never can get too frustrated with her, as they both still do travel and train a lot. Maggy just likes interaction with other pokemon a lot.
