Adventure Calling!

Mirabelle Vesper woke with a start, coming out of her dream with a gasp as she bolted upright in bed in the dark room, her violet eyes filled with panic. Reynard her little Zorua awoke with just as much surprise at the sudden movement of his friend when only a moment ago they had both been very unmoving and asleep and he tumbled from his place close beside her in the small twin bed and hit the floor with an impressive thud. After he shook off the daze of his bumped head and sudden wakefulness he looked up at his owner and found her curled up with her head on her knees, her snow coloured hair falling around her face hiding it from view. He could see she was trembling noticeably as her hands clung to the loose sleeves of her night shirt and she tried to calm her breathing. He sat quietly looking up at the scene with his big ears pressed to his head, this was not the first time this had happened. Mira was visited by night terrors frequently, and in the year they had known each other this happened much too often for his liking. The novelty Hoothoot clock on her bedside table read 3:32.
When she finally got her breathing in check Mirabelle found herself blushing in embarrassment, feeling the little Pokémon's bright blue eyes on her. She uncurled herself and with a delicate hand brushed her pillow messed hair out of her face, tucking some loose strands behind her ear before looking down at him.
“Sorry again, Reynard, I didn't mean to startle you...” At this she swung her bare feet out of bed and placed them gently on the ground beside him. She scooped him up into her arms with a quiet “Come on” and made her way out into the small kitchen.
She flicked on the light and let the black and red Pokémon jump from her arms onto the table top as she passed and set to work making tea and getting a bowl of her special Pokéfood for her friend in way of apology for waking him up again. After placing the steaming tea at her seat and the small bowl of food out before Reynard, which he set to work on instantly, she moved to the fridge and began rummaging inside it. When she pulled her head out and closed the door she had a number of big containers with labels piled in her arms. After placing them upon the counter and uncovering them she pulled out a number of smaller containers which she began tactically serving scoops from the different serving containers into and with a leisurely rhythm began placing labels on each to remind her which Pokémon which food container was for. This food of course was for the Pokémon at the Pokémon Daycare, it was something she had done everyday-some days of course not as early- for the Daycare since she had moved out into her quaint little home in Goldenrod. As she finished up and was placing the last of the food containers into plastic bags to make the commute easier the clock on the stove chimed, reading 5:00.
As she tied the last of the bags closed she started talking to her Zorua quietly “You know...these dreams seem to be getting worse and worse, Rey.” She hesitated slightly “I can't help but wonder if they are trying to tell me something. Maybe we should get away for a little while, y'know, get some fresh perspectives, go out and see more than just what's around Goldenrod and the Daycare. A little adventure and all. I've been ten now for more than two months after all and I think it could do us some good, don't you?” When she turned around to hear her friends reply she found the fox Pokémon fast asleep and curled up inside his food dish, snoring with soft content growls. She couldn't help but giggle at the sight as she crossed the kitchen and plopped herself down on her seat. Taking a sip of her now only lukewarm tea she scratched absent-mindedly at the red tipped tuft of fur on her little friends head and watched the sky slowly light up for a new day.

After the sun had found it's way into the sky and Goldenrod started to come alive outside her window Mira poked Reynard awake and set out to get to the Daycare. As she was loading up her bike with the bags of Pokéfood however, she felt eyes on her. She looked around and saw only early morning commuters and a few harmless Murkrow and Pidove on the telephone wires near her home. Despite seeing no real threat off the bat she tensed when she heard her Zorua growl as low as the Pokémon could. When she turned to face where her friend was focused she found herself looking at a dark shape of some Pokémon in the ally across the street, she wasn't sure what it was because of the shade between the two tightly packed buildings but she knew one thing for certain. It was looking at her. When Reynard stepped up to battle before being asked Mirabelle knew she was going to be a little late getting to the Daycare that day and got ready for the impending battle.

This encounter seems like a scene in some sort of horror movie. Those scenes that have spirits hiding in the corners waiting to eat and kill the protagonist and its audience by fear. But, all that was calmed when the Pokemon steps out. It's nothing but a cute little charming Clefairy. "Charming", or at least that's what it seemed. It has a wicked grin on its face.

Slowly but obviously trying to scare, she tiptoed towards Mirabelle. Her eyes not leaving the Trainer's not even a second. Shouldn't she be looking at Reynard instead? Upon getting a few steps close enough, she stopped and switched his attention to Reynard, finally now she's looking at the right one. It's just a staredown until she suddenly erupted a cute chuckle. Then, she smiled at the two and waved her hand a, "Hi!".

"Clefairy! Fairy! Fairy! Clef!" If only they could understand what she was saying, they should know that she has just greeted them a good morning.
