Powering up the pig! (Private)

After the unavoidable result of Ryuji beating the Striaton Gym leader Cress, and obtaining the trio badge, it was time to train Pignite once more. After getting Pignite healed up, they headed for the training grounds again. Today Pignite was going to learn Flamethrower no matter how hard they had to work for it. It might have been better to start training Budew, but Pignite has always been Ryuji's first priority. "Pignite, do your best today. With Flamethrower we'll be even stronger, and we never know. Maybe in Hoenn there are stronger gym leaders than this weakling gym leader Cress." Ryuji said to Pignite. Ryuji had a change of heart after beating the gym leader, they'd go to Hoenn and seek a better challenge there than Unova can give them at the moment. Pignite took stage in the center of the arena, or training grounds really. "Focus your inner fire energy, its like ember but a lot stronger. Think of ember when you try this, but enhance that to the extreme." Ryuji instructed his favorite pokemon. "Pignite!" He said as he understood the instructions. Pignite took a deep breath, focusing hard on the destructive power of fire he contained within him, and exhaled a stream of fire from his mouth. It was clear that this was working, it wasn't like ember, but it wasn't flamethrower quite yet. "Awesome work, now do it again." Ryuji said with confidence. Pignite went ahead with the training, taking another deep breath and focusing that power within. As he exhaled he blasted a bigger stream of fire from his mouth. It was very clear that this training was working and Pignite seemed to get the handle of Flamethrower. "Pignite we're almost there. Do it again, I know you can master this move." Ryuji said, motivating Pignite. "Nite." Pignite said as he nodded. He then took a quick breath and blasted out a massive constant stream of fire into the sky. "Awesome! You did it Pignite!" Ryuji said with excitement, it was no surprise that his Pignite learned the move so quickly. Suddenly though something started happening, Pignite's body temperature started rapidly increasing to dangerous levels. The ground around Pignite started turning black from the heat, a massive heat wave was sent outward from Pignite. "Could this be.. Overheat?" Ryuji said in amazement, Pignite had learned yet another move. "Awesome Pignite! You now know Flamethrower and Overheat!" The trainer said to his star pokemon. "Pignite.." Pignite said, it was clear he was exhausted from the training. "Let's get you to the pokecenter and then you can get some rest." Ryuji said, he then walked with Pignite next to him to the pokecenter where Pignite would get healed. They then headed home and got a good night's rest. They'd be flying to Hoenn later in the day, so they needed their rest.
